AEW Dynamite: Quake By The Lake Results for August 10, 2022

Tonight’s episode of AEW DYNAMITE: Quake By The Lake was broadcast live from the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN!

Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, and “The Human Suplex Machine” Taz were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!

Coffin Match!

House of Black’s Brody King vs. Darby Allin!

Darby Allin ambushed Brody King out of the darkness before the bell rang! Darby cracked Brody over the back with a skateboard that was lined with thumbtacks. Darby busted Brody wide open with the skateboard to the forehead.

Brody King went outside to collect himself and then hurled Darby over the time keeper’s table into the steel guardrail! Darby fired back with an Avalanche Code Red on Brody King, sending Brody back into the ring.

Darby tried to pull the deadweight of Brody toward the coffin, but Brody King blasted Darby with stiff shots. Brody sent Darby back into the guardrail, and the momentum sent Darby crashing over the top and into the front row!

Brody King jumped off the second rope toward Darby on a table on the outside of the ring, but Darby dodged it. Brody King crashed through the table! The arena lights went out!

“This has got the House of Black written all over it,” said Excalibur.

When the lights turned back on, Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews were standing outside the ring!

Darby ran toward the ropes but Julia Hart popped up from beneath the apron and tripped Darby. Buddy Matthews and Malakai Black pounced on Darby and then set him up in the corner turnbuckles against a table. Brody King ran and fired himself at Darby with a diving cannonball.

Buddy Matthews went over to the coffin to open it up and Sting was hiding inside! Sting hit Brody and Buddy with the baseball bat!

Sting tossed the bat the Malakai Black, inviting him to use it. Malakai dropped the bat, looked at Sting, and walked away.

Sting pursued Malakai Black up the ramp and they had a face off! Darby jumped outside the ring at Brody King!

“We look like we’re on the set of a horror movie,” said Jim Ross.

Brody King grabbed Darby after opening the coffin again. Brody lifted up Darby but Darby clocked Brody King with a steel chain!

Darby choked out Brody with Brody’s steel chain. Darby let go of the chain and Brody collapsed, bouncing off the ring apron and falling into the coffin!

“Darby getting a measure of revenge for each time Brody put him to sleep,” said Excalibur.

Tag Team Tornado Match!

The Lucha Brothers—Penta Oscuro & Rey Fenix (with Alex Abrahantes)

vs.

La Faccion Ingobernable—Andrade El Idolo & Rush (with Jose the Assistant)!

Rush decked Penta with a stiff shot. Rush suplexed Rey Fenix into the turnbuckles! Penta and Rush traded overhand chops until Penta hit a thrust kick on Rush! Andrade swept out the leg of Penta but Rey Fenix took over with a tope suicida to Rush and then a tope con hiro to Andrade El Idolo!

Andrade El Idolo took Rey Fenix out of the air with a dropkick! Andrade and Rush flew over the top rope and splashed down on the Lucha Bros!

Penta brought the offense with a DDT to Rush. He followed up with a backstabber to Andrade. The Lucha Bros used tandem offense to splash Andrade for a near fall.

“Nonstop offense,” said Jim Ross.

The Lucha Bros connected with double thrust kicks to LFI! The Lucha Bros followed up with dives over the top rope to LFI on the outside of the ring! Rey Fenix attempted a frog splash on Andrade but Andrade countered by raising his knees!

Andrade tried to nail Rey Fenix with a thrust kick and accidentally hit Rush when Rey ducked. Andrade rammed Penta with double knees in the corner but then Penta rallied back with a huge cutter to lay out Rush!

Penta smashed Andrade with a Destroyer on the apron! Penta grabbed Rush, looking for the Fear Factor, but Andrade disrupted the balance of Rey Fenix on the top rope!

Rush tied up Penta by knotting his mask into the ropes. Rush spiked Rey Fenix with a piledriver but Penta unmasked to break up the pint attempt. Penta quickly covered his face with his hands!

Rush rammed Rey Fenix with the Bull’s Horns! Andrade El Idolo nailed Rey with the hammerlock DDT and then pinned him!

The Young Bucks were backstage with the Dark Order!

Nick Jackson thanked “Hangman” Adam Page for helping the Bucks last week. Matt apologized to Page for how Matt had treated him. Matt said that when they’re around Page, he brings out the good in them.

Matt invited Page to join them next week in the Trios Tournament and to reform the Hung Bucks. “Hangman” Page declined, saying he was going to be in the corner of the Dark Order for the tournament.

Jungle Boy joined the commentary team for the next match!

Luchasaurus vs. Anthony Henry (with JD Drake)!

Luchasaurus sent Henry flying with a German Suplex! Anthony Henry landed a kick but Luchasaurus headbutted Henry and then finished him off with the Fossilizer!

Christian Cage was backstage and he began to insult Jungle Boy.

Jungle Boy heard enough and sprinted from the broadcast booth to Christian Cage backstage! Security held back Jungle Boy and then Luchasaurus showed up and dispatched of the security guards. Luchasaurus headbutted AEW official Pat Buck!

“The Redeemer” Miro had words for the House of Black. Julia Hart told Miro to embrace the darkness. Miro said he only allowed one woman to touch him, and that his path was now clear.

Mark Henry tried to interview Powerhouse Hobbs until QT Marshall and the Factory interrupted them. Hobbs rejected them and walked off. “Don’t let your problem become my problem,” said Hobbs.

Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh headed to the ring!

Sonjay said they weren’t done with Wardlow.

Lethal: “Wardlow, last Saturday we sent a message. Defend the championship against me one more time, or we come find you and we just take it.”

Wardlow stormed out onto the ramp!

Wardlow: “You want another shot at this? You got it! But tonight I’m whopping all three of your asses!”

FTR—Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood—came out and had Wardlow’s back!

Jay Lethal, Sonjay, and Satnam retreated out of the ring but then surrounded it. Lethal jumped into the ring but the attack was short lived! FTR turned out Jay Lethal’s lights with the Big Rig!

“Absolute” Ricky Starks vs. Aaron Solo!

The Factory stood on the ramp and watched.

Starks backdropped Solo! Aaron Solo poured the pressure on, stomping on Starks in the corner. Starks hit a jawbreaker and then a DDT to Solo! Starks speared Solo and then pinned him!

QT demanded that Nick Comoroto get into the ring and Starks planted Nick with a spinebuster! Solo hit Starks from behind! The rest of the Factory went after Starks but Starks outsmarted them and jumped over the guardrail and left them in the dust. Backstage, Powerhouse Hobbs smashed a TV, upset that Starks picked up the win!

TBS Title Match!

Jade Cargill (c.) (with Stokely Hathaway & Kiera Hogan) vs. Madison Rayne!

Jade shoved Madison, taking her off her feet. Jade booted Madison in the midsection. Madison fired back with a dropkick and Jade rolled out of the ring.

Outside the ring, Jade tried to powerbomb Madison but Madison countered with a hurracanrana! Kiera Hogan distracted Madison just long enough for Jade to knock the wind out of Madison with a spear!

Madison rallied back with a flipping neck breaker on Jade for a near fall! Madison spiked the champion with a DDT for a two-count! Jade Cargill crushed Madison with a big boot! Cargill planted Madison with Jaded and pinned her!

“36-0, the undefeated and dominant TBS Champion Jade Cargill with another victory,” said Excalibur.

Athena jumped in the ring and decked Jade. Kiera pulled Jade out of the ring.

“That’s a direct message from Athena,” said Taz.

Tony Schiavone was backstage with Toni Storm and AEW Women’s World Champ Thunder Rosa!

Schiavone said that Kris Statlander was injured. Toni said her own main goal was to be the AEW Women’s World Champion. Thunder Rosa said they’d talk about it some other time.

Main Event Time!

AEW Interim World Title Match!

The Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley (c.) vs. “Lionheart” Chris Jericho!

William Regal joined the commentary team for this match.

“Moxley wanted the ‘Lionheart’ and he’s got him tonight in the main event,” said Excalibur.

Jericho flipped off Mox as the match began. Moxley returned the gesture.

They locked up and Jericho took down Moxley with an arm drag.

“Jericho harkening back to his days in Arena Mexico,” said Excalibur.

Moxley countered the Walls of Jericho. Chris Jericho tied up Moxley and connected with elbow strikes. Jericho captured the legs and arms of Moxley, stretching him. Moxley escaped and he kicked Jericho in the spine!

Jericho took down Moxley with a snap mare and then tore the earring out of Moxley’s ear! Jericho went off the ropes with a dropkick, sending Moxley to the outside!

“The champ is in trouble,” said Jim Ross.

Jericho and a bloody Moxley exchanged forearms. Jericho countered a DDT into a backbreaker! Jericho followed up with the lionsault for a near fall! Moxley transitioned into an arm bar!

“That’s how you tear a guy’s bicep, right there,” said Taz.

Jericho managed to escape the arm bar submission attempt from Moxley but then Moxley locked in an ankle lock. Jericho sent Moxley flying with a German Suplex! Jericho connected with a hurracanrana off the turnbuckles. Jericho cracked Moxley’s knee against the ring post and then applied a figure four!

Jericho got back into the ring and Moxley baited Jericho in, locking in a cross face! Jericho rolled forward and placed Moxley in the Walls of Jericho!

“Jon Moxley on the verge of passing out!” said Excalibur.

Moxley crawled to the ropes, forcing the ref to break the hold. Jericho jumped for a springboard dropkick but Moxley dodged it. Moxley jumped off the top with a diving double sledge to Jericho!

The fans chanted “This is awesome! This is awesome! This is awesome!”

Moxley jumped off the ropes but Jericho countered with the Code Breaker for a near fall!

“Man, that was close,” said Taz.

Jericho ripped the turnbuckle pads off two corners Sammy Guevara was in the crowd and tossed a baseball bat to Jericho. Chris Jericho cracked Moxley with the bat as the ref was distracted but Moxley kicked out at the two-count!

Moxley applied a rear choke but Jericho escaped and blasted Moxley with the Judas Effect! Moxley kicked out of the pin attempt!

“No one kicks out of the Judas Effect!” said Jim Ross.

The fans chanted “Fight forever! Fight forever! Fight forever!”

Jericho charged at Moxley with the championship belt but Moxley moved out of the way. Jericho’s head smacked into the exposed turnbuckle! Moxley was putting Jericho into a choke but Jericho transitioned out of it. Moxley applied a rear naked choke again and this time Jericho tapped out!

“Moxley wins a war!” said Jim Ross.

“There’s no shame in tapping when you get hooked like that. What a battle,” added Taz.

After the match, Jake Hagger and Sammy Guevara ran to the ring and attacked Moxley.

Claudio, Wheeler Yuta, Kingston, Ortiz came out to even up the odds.

The rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society— Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, and Daniel Garcia—sprinted out! Jericho was going to blast Moxley with the belt but then CM Punk’s music hit!

CM Punk cleaned house of the Jericho Appreciation Society!

“Punk the difference maker here tonight, running off the Jericho Appreciation Society,” said Excalibur.

CM Punk and Jon Moxley had a stare down in the center of the ring! Moxley flipped of CM Punk, showing no respect for CM Punk!

Catch AEW DYNAMITE on TBS next Wednesday live at 8/7ct from the Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, WV!
