**CONTAINS SPOILERS**

Tonight’s episode of AEW DYNAMITE was broadcast live from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI!

Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and “The Human Suplex Machine” Taz were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!

Double Jeopardy!

ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli

vs.

AEW World Tag Team Champion Rey Fenix!

The winner earns a shot at the other man’s championship.

“Double Jeopardy, it says it all,” said Taz during the opening match.

Claudio ducked a reverse kick from Rey Fenix. Claudio caught a flying Rey Fenix and nailed him with a vicious backbreaker.

“Claudio has done a great job of grounding Rey Fenix,” said Tony Schiavone.

But then Claudio got bounced around with two tope suicidas from Rey Fenix. The third time was not the charm, though, as Claudio caught Rey and then dropped him across the barricade outside the ring.

Rey Fenix walked the top of the barricade and clobbered Claudio with a hurracanrana onto the floor.

The fans chanted “This is awesome! This is awesome! This is awesome!”

Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta watched the match on a monitor backstage.

Rey Fenix took down Claudio with a hurracanrana off the turnbuckles. Claudio fired back with a lariat, good for a near fall on Rey Fenix. Claudio hoisted up Rey Fenix and press slammed him over the barricade.

Claudio and Rey Fenix exchanged chops and uppercuts. Rey Fenix rocked Claudio with a cutter.

“That cutter landed flush,” said Excalibur.

Rey Fenix jumped off the top turnbuckle with a moonsault out to Claudio on the arena floor. Back in the ring Rey connected with the Code Red for a two-count. Fenix took Claudio off his feet with a thrust kick.

Claudio came back with the Waterslide on Rey Fenix. Claudio hammered down with hammer and anvil strikes. Claudio finished off Rey Fenix with the Ricola Bomb and pinned him!

Renee Paquette tried to interview Miro backstage!

Miro powerwalked right into Tony Khan’s office and then shut the door.

AEW World Champion MJF spoke from backstage.

He said the pillars were like the Beatles. MJF compared himself to Paul McCartney.

“Every great moment in this sport has one thing in common, and that is your AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF, and my reign of terror has just begun.”

AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR—Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler—came to the ring and responded to the challenge from Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett!

Dax Harwood called out Mark Briscoe. He said FTR owed him an apology. Instead “the Last Outlaw” Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, Satnam Singh, and Jay Lethal came to the ring.

Dutt: “I’m asking you right now FTR, do you guys accept our challenge at Double or Nothing in Las Vegas?”

Dax: “I will accept your challenge if you guys admit to using Mark Briscoe to get to us.”

Dutt: “He’s our friend!”

Mark Briscoe walked onto the ramp with a microphone.

Mark: “You fellas need to relax. You fellas have a hard time controlling your emotions when you’re in the same facility. I talked to my friend Tony Khan and in Las Vegas it’ll be FTR against Lethal and Jarrett and I’m going to be the special guest referee.”

Mark Briscoe said there needed to be peace and had all the men take a cup so they could drink together. Dutt sprayed the alcohol into Dax’s eyes. A blinded Dax spiked Mark Briscoe with a piledriver!

“It’s official for Double or Nothing! FTR against Jeff Jarett and Jay Lethal with Mark Briscoe as special guest referee.”

Renee Paquette interviewed “The Ocho” Chris Jericho backstage!

Jericho: “Why is everyone so happy that Adam Cole got ‘the best of me’ while I was doing commentary? This is an unsafe work environment. I got legal counsel and I now have a court order. If I’m in the arena you’re banned.”

Roderick Strong interrupted and challenged Jericho to a Falls Count Anywhere Match.

Jericho accepted Strong’s challenge to a match next week on Dynamite.

Strong: “I also got legal counsel and the J.A.S. is banned next week.”

Renee Paquette was trying to get a word with Tony Khan about Miro, but Thunder Rosa went into Tony Khan’s office before Renee could.

“Seems like tonight is a good night to talk to Papi Khan,” said Thunder Rosa.

After a commercial break Tony Khan was backstage with a microphone!

Tony Khan: “I’d like everyone to stay tuned next week on Dynamite for a huge announcement. Thank you.”

AEW International Championship Match!

“Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy (c.) vs. The Jericho Appreciation Society’s Daniel Garcia!

After some dancing, Garcia went for a drop toe hold but Orange escaped. Orange fired back with dropkicks (with hands in his pockets). The champ drove Garcia into the barricades with a tope suicida.

Daniel Garcia nearly took Orange’s head off with a running lariat. Garcia followed up by planting Orange onto the ring apron, and then right across the guardrail. Garcia worked over Cassidy’s injured knee in the ring.

Garcia booted Orange and then stuck him with a jumping piledriver. Orange fought back with the Beach Break. Garcia locked on the Dragon Tamer in the center of the ring! Orange tried to escape but Garcia applied a cross face and then stomped on Orange’s hand. Orange cradled Daniel Garcia and pinned Garcia!

Christian Cage came out to the ring for an interview!

Christian Cage and Luchasaurus came to the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone.

Excalibur informed us that TNT Champ Wardlow and “The Enforcer” Arn Anderson were not here tonight.

Christian Cage: “You want to know why I’m the number one contender for the TNT title? Because I’m Christian Cage. When your name has the cache that mine does, you get the shot.

“I have a question for you Tony. What’s with all these wrestlers in AEW and all their daddy issues? Much like my previous opponent, my current opponent Wardlow also had a father. But I’m not going to berate your father Wardlow because he wasn’t famous, no one cares about him.

“Arn Anderson’s son Brock has a contract here in AEW. Arn Anderson is a bold-faced liar. He said he wanted to set up his son for success, but he tossed him aside for Wardlow. How many times have you won the world championship, Arn?

What are you going to do Wardlow when you realize your legend is not as strong as me and was never as good as me? Next week Wardlow you’re going to stand in the ring and I’m going to look you in the eyes and you’re going to realize your days as champion are over.”

Footage was shown of Darby Allin at home, training for Double or Nothing!

“I’m going to Double or Nothing to become World Champion.”

No Holds Barred Match!

The Jericho Appreciation Society’s Anna Jay A.S.

vs.

The House of Black’s Julia Hart!

“Julia Hart and Anna Jay used to be best friends,” said Excalibur.

As Julia Hart was making her entrance, Anna Jay A.S. blindsided her. Julia retaliated by whipping Anna into the guardrail. Julia Hart pulled out a kendo stick and cracked Anna across the back with it.

Anna Jay A.S. put a garbage can over the head of Julia Hart and then blasted Julia with a kick. Julia Hart was writhing in pain. Anna scattered steel chairs in the ring. Julia fought through the pain, propping Anna on the top turnbuckle. Julia superplexed Anna, with Anna’s lower back hitting the chairs. Julia Hart locked on the Heartless and forced Anna Jay to tap out!

AEW World Trios Championship Open House Match!

The House of Black—Brody King, Buddy Matthews, & Malakai Black (c.)

vs.

Bandido & The Best Friends—Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta!

AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy watched backstage on a monitor.

“This is the first match in Open House rules. I dig it,” said Taz.

Malakai tied up Trent in a leg lock and Brody barreled down with a senton. Trent connected with a thrust kick to Matthews.

Malakai jumped on the apron to distract Trent. Buddy rolled up Trent for a two-count. Bandido tagged in and hit a tornillo off the top. Bandido blasted Brody with a crucifix bomb. Bandido went for a springboard, but Buddy rocked Bandido with a knee strike!

Chuck tagged in and nailed Buddy with Sole Food. Brody tagged in, nailed Chuck with Dante’s Inferno, and pinned him!

Kyle Fletcher from Aussie Open laid out Orange Cassidy backstage, calling him out!

Main Event Time!

Steel Cage Match!

The Elite’s Kenny Omega vs. Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley!

Bryan Danielson joined the broadcast booth for this match.

Moxley charged at Omega as Omega was making his entrance with Don Callis.

Yuta and Claudio went after Omega, but the Young Bucks ran down to help their Elite friend. The Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club had to be separated by security.

Moxley finally got into the ring and the match began!

Omega chopped at Mox, but Mox fired back with chops of his own. Omega moonsaulted onto Moxley for a two-count.

Omega pulled out a steel chair wrapped in barb wire from beneath the ring. Omega cracked Moxley in the head with the chair. Omega punctured Moxley’s back with the steel chair. Omega stomped the chair into Moxley’s back.

Omega attempted a springboard, but Moxley countered by shoving Omega into the cage. Kenny Omega answered with a bulldog on Moxley onto the chair. Omega body slammed Mox onto the chair.

Moxley superplexed Omega onto the chair! Moxley had the top rope and turnbuckle pulled off the ring, hooking the cable around Omega’s mouth. Moxley drove his knee into the mouth of Omega.

Moxley pulled out a bag and emptied its contents into the ring: broken glass! Omega rocked Mox with a knee strike. Omega hoisted up Moxley for the One-Winged Angel. Moxley countered out of it with a choke. Kenny had a counter of his own, falling backwards and driving Moxley’s back into the broken glass!

“A crucial countered by Kenny Omega,” said Excalibur.

Moxley pulled back with a choke. Omega fired back with a knee shot to Moxley. Kenny hit the snap dragon suplex on Mox. Omega decimated Moxley with a V-Trigger, pushing him against—and through—the cage! Omega’s leg was trapped between the cage and the ring.

Moxley pulled out a screwdriver. Don Callis jumped in the ring and pulled the screwdriver away from Moxley. Omega smashed Mox with the V-Trigger. Omega followed up with the One-Winged Angel. Omega went for the pin, but Don Callis cracked Omega in the face with the screwdriver! Moxley covered Omega and pinned him!

Danielson cackled on commentary.

After the match Don Callis took the screwdriver, lifted it up, but threw it to the ground. Callis left a bloodied Omega in the ring.

“Why don’t we all praise the ‘King of Violence’ Jon Moxley for winning that incredible main event,” said Danielson.
