Tonight’s episode of AEW DYNAMITE was held live from the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, IN!
It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!
Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, and Excalibur were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.
“The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. Rocky Romero (with “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy, Kris Statlander, Wheeler Yuta, & Chuck Taylor)!
Bryan is coming into this match with seven straight wins. This was Rocky Romero’s DYNAMITE debut.
Excalibur informed us that Orange Cassidy was asked to join the Chaos Faction by “The Rainmaker” Okada himself.
Danielson knocked Rocky off his feet with a shoulder tackle. Romero transitioned to an arm bar but Bryan grabbed the rope. Rocky elbowed Danielson in the turnbuckles. Rocky sent Danielson through the ropes, using Danielson’s own momentum to get the upper hand. Rocky followed up with a tope suicida on Danielson.
“Rocky Romero is concentrating on Danielson’s left shoulder,” said Excalibur.
Danielson rallied back with swift kicks rocking Rocky Romero in the corner. Danielson placed Rocky in the Romero Special. Rocky rolled out, fighting Bryan off. “The American Dragon” charged at Rocky but Rocky countered with a spinning DDT!
“Big Money” Matt Hardy was watching Orange Cassidy from ringside.
Rocky draped Danielson on the middle rope and then drop kicked him from the turnbuckles. Rocky came back with the Sliced Bread for a near fall. Danielson used a rolling elbow strike and then a bridging suplex for a two-count on Rocky.
Danielson suplexed Rocky off the top turnbuckle but Rocky turned into it and then placed an arm bar on Danielson. “The American Dragon” lifted up Rocky Romero and powerbombed him! Danielson kicked Romero square in the face! Rocky attempted the Sliced Bread but Bryan countered by stomping on Rocky’s head. Danielson applied the Tequila Sunrise and Rocky tapped!
“That’s what Miro has to look out for this Saturday at FULL GEAR,” said Excalibur.
Tony Schiavone was in the ring to interview the Inner Circle about their upcoming Minneapolis Street Fight which is taking place this Saturday at FULL GEAR against Men Of The Year and American Top Team!
American Top Team and Men Of The Year blindsided the Inner Circle as Inner Circle were making their entrance! Junior Dos Santos nailed Sammy with toxic uppercut! Men Of The Year rammed Santana into the ring steps! Dos Santos blasted Ortiz with a kendo stick! Jericho was hit with a trashcan lid against his spine.
“These are bad men,” said Jim Ross.
Men Of The Year set a table up in the ring. Lambert sat on the top turnbuckle and with the help of Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page, Lambert powerbombed Chris Jericho through the table!
“Not only are we going to win this Saturday at FULL GEAR, but we are also going to make sure Dan Lambert pins Chris Jericho,” said Ethan Page.
Page told Lambert to put Jericho in the Walls of Jericho! Lambert put Jericho in the hold and Scorpio Sky grabbed Jericho’s arm, moving it up and down to make it seem like Jericho was tapping.
Trios Tag Team Match!
AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., Jamie Hayter, & Rebel vs. Dark Order’s Anna Jay, Tan Conti, & Thunder Rosa!
All six wrestlers began to brawl at the start of the match. Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker countered one another and then Britt tagged out to Rebel.
Thunder Rosa rocked Rebel with a face buster! Anna Jay tagged in and used a leg lariat and then a suplex on Rebel. Jamie Hayter pulled Anna Jay’s hair from behind and started to stomp a mudhole into Anna on the arena floor.
Anna Jay was working on pure adrenaline and crawled to get the tag to Tay! Tay Conti delivered pump kicks to Rebel, Baker, and Hayter! Tay hit the Tay-KO on Hayter but Britt broke up the pin attempt.
Britt Baker used a superkick on Anna Jay! Thunder Rosa jumped off the ring post to the outside onto Jamie Hayter! Tay Conti spiked Rebel and pinned her while Britt watched on from the outside.
“I think Britt Baker is afraid of Tay Conti,” said Excalibur.
“She made a business decision not to get back into the ring to help Rebel,” added Tony Schiavone.
Jungle Boy vs. The Acclaimed’s Anthony Bowens (with “Platinum” Max Caster)!
Jungle Boy had a waist lock applied to Bowens and Bowens fired back with an elbow. Jungle Boy chopped at Bowen’s chest but Bowens used a knee to Jungle Boy’s midsection. Bowens booted Jungle Boy on the mat.
Jungle Boy climbed the ropes and flipped off of them to hit the arm drag on Bowens. Jungle Boy blasted Bowens with knife-edged chops. Bowens grabbed Jungle Boy by the hair and head butted him. Caster grabbed the boot of Jungle Boy and Bowens was there to capitalize.
Jungle Boy hit a basement dropkick on Bowens. Jungle Boy turned Bowens inside-out with the running lariat! Bowens retaliated with combo offense for a near fall on Jungle Boy!
“Jungle Boy could be walking into FULL GEAR this Saturday night banged up,” said Excalibur.
Jungle Boy hit Caster with a tope suicida! Bowens caught Jungle Boy off guard with a DDT for a near fall! Jungle Boy locked in the Snare Trap and forced Anthony Bowens to tap out!
Bobby Fish sprinted down to the ring and attacked Jungle Boy from behind!
Christian Cage and Luchasaurus came to the aid of their friend and Bobby Fish retreated!
“Bobby Fish is a mysterious man with mysterious motives perhaps,” noted Jim Ross.
Backstage, Adam Cole was with The Young Bucks! Adam Cole introduced Bobby Fish to the Bucks. Matt Jackson said they were familiar with Bobby and there were no disputes in AEW. They threw out a challenge for RAMPAGE this Friday with Bobby Fish against Jungle Boy!
Up Next: Wardlow vs. Wheeler Yuta (with Chuck Taylor & Orange Cassidy)!
Yuta dropkicked Wardlow but Wardlow swatted him away. After a misstep by Yuta, Wardlow pancaked Yuta! Wardlow planted Yuta with a massive powerbomb! And then another. And another. And then a fourth powerbomb!
“This man is a monster,” said Tony Schiavone.
Wardlow set up the Casualty of War rising knee strike and then pinned Wheeler Yuta!
“An emphatic, impressive victory by Wardlow. Can MJF do the same this Saturday night at FULL GEAR against Darby Allin?” asked Excalibur.
Members of the Hardy Family Office—The Blade and Isiah Kassidy—seized upon this opportunity and attacked Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor as they were tending to Wheeler!
Matt Hardy entered the ring and put Orange Cassidy’s head and neck in between a steel chair and then crushed him with the Twist of Fate!
“A brutal assault,” said Excalibur.
During a commercial break, Eddie Kingston and CM Punk were brawling in the parking lot and had to be separated.
“CM Punk and Eddie Kingston do not want to wait for FULL GEAR,” said Excalibur.
Lee Moriarty & Matt Sydal vs. Dante Martin & Lio Rush!
This is the DYNAMITE debut of Lio Rush.
Moriarty showed off his technical prowess on Dante. They chain wrestled and Dante picked Moriarty’s ankle for a near fall.
“This is lightning fast,” said Excalibur.
Lio Rush tagged in and then Matt Sydal tagged in. Lio slapped Matt in the face. Sydal used a rolling sole butt on Lio Rush. Lio took Matt down with a hurracanrana! Things broke down as all four wrestlers began brawling with the opposite teams.
Dante Martin launched off the middle rope with a shotgun dropkick onto Matt Sydal! Lio tagged in and ate a boot from Moriarty. Lio Rush used stereo handspring elbows on Moriarty and Sydal and followed up with tope suicidas!
“This is awesome!” chanted the fans.
Moriarty jumped up to the top rope and flung Martin to the mat for a near fall! Lio used a hook kick to the jaw of Moriarty. Dante pinned Moriarty after a double springboard moonsault press!
“They’re a hell of a team,” said Tony Schiavone.
“What a DYNAMITE debut for Lio Rush,” added Excalibur.
One-half of the AAA World Tag Team Champions FTR’s Dax Harwood (with Tully Blanchard) vs. “The Bastard” PAC!
They locked up and Dax powered PAC into the turnbuckles. Dax wrenched on PAC’s wrist. PAC reversed the arm wringer and knocked Dax down with a shoulder tackle.
PAC body slammed Dax. Both men got to their feet and had a stare down. Dax blasted PAC with a stiff clothesline!
“This is a battle of two stubborn, stubborn men,” noted Excalibur.
They traded forearms in the middle of the ring! PAC grabbed Dax and brought him down with a German Suplex! PAC flipped out of the ring and crash landed onto Dax!
PAC spiked Dax with an avalanche brainbuster for a near fall!
“This is a tremendous wrestling match that this sold-out crowd is loving,” said Jim Ross.
PAC climbed to the top rope and rocked Dax with a shotgun dropkick between the shoulder blades. PAC climbed up to the top turnbuckle but this time Harwood rolled out of the way. Harwood used a brainbuster on PAC for a near fall!
“Harwood is pissed and he wants to end this match,” said Jim Ross.
PAC set up for the Black Arrow but Dax climbed up the turnbuckles. Dax suplexed PAC off the top turnbuckle! PAC willed himself back into the fight with a release German Suplex on Harwood. Dax ducked a roundhouse kick from PAC and then Dax smashed PAC with a lariat!
PAC used a backslide for a near fall on Dax. PAC transitioned into The Brutalizer and Dax Harwood immediately tapped out to avoid injury. Cash Wheeler ran to the ring and began stomping on PAC!
The arena lights turned off! When the lights returned, Malakai Black and Andrade El Idolo began to assault PAC!
The Lucha Bros and Cody Rhodes jumped into the ring to even up the odds. Andrade El Idolo, Malakai Black, and FTR retreated!
Time for the contract signing ahead of their match this Saturday at FULL GEAR, where AEW World Champion Kenny Omega defends against “Hangman” Adam Page!
The Elite and the Dark Order were banned from this contract signing by Tony Khan. Both factions were seen leaving the arena.
Tony Schiavone was in the ring to facilitate the contract signing.
Page grabbed the microphone: “You know after all this time I don’t know what’s left to say. But the sooner I sign this, the sooner I get to FULL GEAR and beat your ass for the championship.”
Omega: “I wish I could share your excitement. But I’m a little sad ‘Hangman’. We were friends. We were partners. If it wasn’t for your insecurities, this could all be yours. We were the ones in The Elite who put you back up on your horse when you fell off the saddle. I saw a bit of myself in you, but how wrong I was.”
Page: “I look across the ring and I see the ‘Best Bout Machine.’ You told me a lot of lies, but the biggest lie you told me was last year at FULL GEAR when you said you were proud of me. You aren’t proud of me. You’re afraid of me. I’ll beat you and I’ll become the AEW World Champion this Saturday.”
Omega: “Believe it or not, I care about you ‘Hangman’. I want to be able to shake your hand right here right now, one last time. Let’s kill it at the pay-per-view. Good job. I’m proud of you.”
A camera man smashed a TV camera into Page! The camera man was actually Don Callis in disguise!
Page was busted wide open! Omega used Page’s blood and Omega signed the contract!
