Tonight’s AEW DYNAMITE was held live from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ!

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!

Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, and Excalibur were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

CM Punk was a special guest commentator for tonight’s show!

Making his AEW in-ring debut, it was The Elite’s Adam Cole vs. “The Elite Hunter” Frankie Kazarian!

“The twenty-three-year veteran will not be nervous,” said Jim Ross of Frankie Kazarian.

“I don’t think Adam Cole is hanging out with the right people but you can’t deny his talent,” added CM Punk.

Frankie and Cole started with beautiful catch-as-catch-can wrestling. Cole sent Kaz over the top rope and he went crashing down hard onto the arena floor.

“Cole is eating it up,” said Jim Ross.

Adam Cole pump-kicked Frankie right in the mush! Frankie rolled up Cole and then twisted him in a pretzel-like submission maneuver! Cole kicked his way out of it. Kaz blocked a thrust kick from Cole and countered with a reverse suplex for a near fall. He crushed Cole with double knees in the corner. Kaz got blasted by a superkick from Cole for his troubles!

Cole headed up to the top rope for the Panama City Sunrise but Kaz had it scouted! Frankie hit a springboard leg drop off the ropes for a near fall on Cole. They traded strikes and Kaz fired back with a lariat.

“Kazarian shows great heart and the will to compete,” said Jim Ross.

The fans in the sold-out arena chanted “This is awesome!”

Cole spiked Kaz with the Panama City Sunrise! He finished off Kaz with a running knee, pinning him for the victory!

Cole grabbed a microphone after his victory: “Who’s ready for story time with Adam Cole baybay? Hope is a dangerous thing. That locker room hopes it can keep up with The Elite. Guess what? It’s not going to happen.

“I’ve only been here for a short time and there are three guys who have really gotten under my skin—Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Jungle Boy. If they’re so tough, how about next week, RAMPAGE: Grand Slam, them three against Adam Cole and The Young Bucks?! The Super Kliq is back baybay!”

In a video package, the AEW Tag Team Champions The Lucha Bros. accepted a challenge for this Friday’s RAMPAGE against The Butcher & The Blade!

Tony Schiavone was backstage with Fuego Del Sol and Sammy Guevara. Fuego Del Sol challenged TNT Champion “The Redeemer” Miro to a match this Friday at RAMPAGE, and Fuego is putting his new car on the line!

MJF came to the ring with Wardlow!

“Last week you guys were so sympathetic for Cryin’ Brian. But you should be sympathetic for me because right now I’m standing in the armpit of America known as New Jersey.

“Right now I’d like to have a brief conversation with all the viewers at home. I was smartened up in the back that some of my comments last week might have offended you last week and I just wanted you to know—I don’t care.

“As you people all know, I’m salt-of-the-earth and I’m religious. Right now, I’d like to have a conversation with the late, great Brian Pillman. ‘Look Mr. Pillman, I’m giving you fair warning. Tell your son if he shows up in that awful place known as Queens that I’m going to massacre him.

“They can chant your name as long as they want but at the end of the day it’s going to be obvious that I’m better than you and—”

MJF was interrupted by Brian Pillman, Jr.’s music. MJF ordered Wardlow to meet Pillman at the top of the ramp before he came down to the ring. Pillman, Jr. surprised MJF by jumping in the ring from behind with a steel chair! MJF retreated!

Earlier in the day, Jim Ross interviewed Brian Pillman, Jr.

“When I left that arena last week, I was humiliated by what MJF said about your family. And next week you have a chance to whip MJF’s ass. Are you willing to do that? Because that’s what it’s going to take,” said Jim Ross.

Pillman responded: “MJF, while you were waking up every morning being fed by a silver spoon, I was fighting for my life. We are not the same. My upbringing was feral. On September 22nd at Arthur Ashe Stadium, you’re not just stepping in the ring with any man, you’re stepping in the ring with a Pillman!”

Alex Marvez was backstage with Christian Cage and The Jurassic Express!

“Here’s the thing, Adam. We accept your challenge. Since you’re already used to losing Wednesday Night Wars, let’s add Friday to that,” said Christian Cage.

Up next: Dante Martin & Matt Sydal vs. FTR—Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood (with Tully Blanchard)!

Dax smashed Dante in the corner with forearms. Dante tried to spring over the top rope but Cash kicked him, altering his trajectory, knocking him to the arena floor.

Cash punished the chest of Dante with chops. He rammed Dante into the steel ring post.

“It’s been a while since I’ve seen FTR this aggressive,” said Jim Ross.

“In my opinion they’re the best tag team in the business,” added CM Punk.

FTR tried to double team Dante but Dante outmaneuvered them and made the tag to Matt Sydal! Dante and Matt used an incredible double springboard off the ropes onto FTR on the outside of the ring!

Dante defied gravity with a head of steam and delivered dropkicks to FTR!

“This kid is something else,” said CM Punk.

Wheeler struggled with a backslide and ate a hurracanrana from Matt Sydal! FTR rallied back with the Big Rig on Dante for the pin!

“They remind me so much of Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard,” said Jim Ross.

“The MurderHawk Monster” Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki were backstage: “Moxley, you had everything going in our favor in Cincinnati, but that’s going to change in New York City at Arthur Ashe Stadium. You and Eddie Kingston are going to find out what strong style is all about,” said Archer.

Malakai Black made his haunting entrance!

“Members of the House of Black…please rise, for we have an enemy in our midst,” said Black.

Actress Rosario Dawson was sitting in the front row with a Nightmare Factory jacket. Black walked down to confront her. “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes ran down the arena steps to save Dawson! Black and Rhodes brawled throughout the arena!

“The last time we saw Cody Rhodes in an AEW ring he was talking about hanging it up,” said Excalibur.

“Both men are taking the other man’s best shot,” replied Jim Ross.

“They fought out of the arena and I believe they’ll fight right back in next week at Arthur Ashe Stadium,” said Tony Schiavone.

Alex Marvez was backstage with Anna Jay and The Dark Order. Things continued to

In the ring, American Top Team’s Dan Lambert (with Junior Dos Santos, “The Pitbull” Andrei Arlovski, Paige VanZant, & Kayla Harrison) & The Men of the Year—Scorpio Sky & “All Ego” Ethan Page challenged AEW to respond to their challenge!

Dan Lambert ran down the AEW fans, calling them “morons.”

“Dan Lambert is like Bobby Heenan if he had a wardrobe full of Affliction,” said CM Punk.

And then Chris Jericho’s “Judas” theme began to play, and out came Jericho and Jake Hager.

“I’m surprised to see you out here to defend these fans. You will do whatever you can to get these dipshits to spend their allowance on your stupid Fozzy albums,” said Lambert.

“What is your problem, Lambert? You can’t scare us. Like our friend and honorary Inner Circle member ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson once said, ‘Everybody’s got a plan until they get punched in the face.’ So why don’t big Jake and I come right down and knock those chipmunk teeth down your throat,” said Jericho.

“Stop right there. If it’s going to go down, it won’t happen here in this dump of a city. We’ll see you next week in the Big Apple,” said Lambert.

“All right Page and Scorpio, we’ll see you next week and there’ll be no escape from New York!” replied Jericho.

Jade Cargill (with “Smart” Mark Sterling) vs. “Legit” Leyla Hirsch!

Leyla took down Jade and began to ground and pound. Leyla swept out Jade’s legs and then hit a running dropkick in the corner! Leyla transitioned into a cross arm breaker. Jade muscled out and powerbombed Leyla!

Leyla avoided a pump kick from Jade, and Leyla followed up with aback suplex for a near fall. Leyla rocketed to the outside with a tope suicida and then a running knee for a near fall!

“Mark Sterling looks like he’s seen a ghost,” said Excalibur.

Jade moved out of the way from Leyla’s moonsault. Jade pump kicked Leyla and then pancaked her with her Jaded finisher, pinning Leyla!

“An extremely impressive performance by ‘Legit’ Leyla Hirsh, but Jade remains undefeated,” said Excalibur.

Taz and Hook confronted CM Punk at the announcer’s table!

“Are you trying to take my job?” asked Taz.

Punk had no choice but to get up. Punk stared down Hook and then Powerhouse Hobbs steamrolled him from behind! Hook applied a dragon sleeper to Punk and then Hobbs smashed into Punk again! Powerhouse Hobbs picked up Punk and slammed him on the broadcast table!

“Our broadcast table has just been decimated by Hobbs. This has been a disgusting, disgusting display,” said Excalibur.

Darby Allin (with Sting) vs. “The Chairman” Shawn Spears (with Tully Blanchard)!

Spears immediately went after Darby! He rammed Darby into the steel steps on the outside of the ring! Spears sandwiched Darby’s head between the steps and Spear’s own knee!

Darby fought back and was about to go for a tope suicida but Tully Blanchard moved into the way—Darby stopped before he took flight. Spears pulled Darby by the ankle and Darby landed on his head right on the ring apron! Spears grabbed a towel and rubbed the face paint off Darby!

“That’s part of Darby’s persona! What’s going on?” said Jim Ross.

Spears locked Darby into a Scorpion Death Lock right in front of Sting. Darby grabbed the bottom rope and forced the ref to break the hold. Darby hit a basement dropkick on Spears and then the Code Red for a near fall!

Darby limped to the turnbuckles and climbed them. Spears met him but Darby swept out Spears’ leg. Spears grabbed Darby by his chain necklace and yanked him down! Spears was looking for the C4 on the ring steps but Darby countered! Darby sent himself crashing into Spears and then hit the Coffin Drop for the pin on Spears!

After the match, fellow Pinnacle members FTR jumped into the ring! FTR began brawling with Darby and Sting! Tully hit Sting from behind with a chair. Sting turned around to go after Tully but FTR blindsided Sting! FTR impaled Sting with a spiked piledriver! Tully Blanchard grabbed the towel and rubbed off Sting’s face paint!

Tony Schiavone was in the ring to interview “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson about AEW World Champion Kenny Omega!

Before Danielson could get more than a few words out, Don Callis interrupted him. Callis walked out with AEW World Champion Kenny Omega.

Don Callis: “The hippie millionaire. What a sanctimonious son of a b—tch you are. What a difficult decision this must have been for you to join AEW—this company was built on the back of Kenny Omega. And it was because you wanted to help the industry? And people call me a carnie SOB. Kenny told me he knows how you think and that you really believe this. So that makes you a mark like the rest of these people—

“Shut up, Don. Someday this will be about the world title, Kenny. But right now let’s just see who’s better. Let’s give the people what they want—Kenny Omega versus Bryan Danielson. I came here to talk to Kenny Omega. But maybe I shouldn’t have because I came to AEW to fight ‘the best bout machine’, ‘the god of professional wrestling’, but all I’ve seen is a guy who hangs out with a bunch of stooges who lets this guy talk for him.

“I’ve heard the rumors that maybe you’ve lost your confidence, that you’ve lost a step. I don’t think that’s true. I just think you’ve lost your balls. So what do you say: yes or no?” asked Danielson.

Omega: “So you say you want ‘the best bout machine’? You say you want ‘the god of wrestling’? My answer is yes!”

“What a dream match,” said Jim Ross.

“Bryan Danielson, Kenny Omega, one-on-one! Wow!” replied Excalibur.

Next week it’s AEW World Champion Kenny Omega against “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson on DYNAMITE!

Main Event Time!

Eddie Kingston & Jon Moxley vs. 2point0—Matt Lee & Jeff Parker (with Daniel Garcia)!

2point0 and Daniel Garcia tried to jump Moxley before the bell!

Moxley chopped Parker, but Parker gouged Mox’s eyes. Parker tagged out to Matt Lee. Mox bit Matt Lee’s forehead! 2point0 double teamed Moxley with tandem offense.

“Moxley needs to make a tag in the worst way,” said Jim Ross.

After a stiff lariat, Mox finally got the tag to Eddie Kingston!

Kingston fired off machine gun chops on Matt Lee! He followed up with a spinning back fist on Parker and then a DDT!

Kingston and Moxley wrecked Jeff Parker with a combination exploder suplex and lariat. Mox pinned Parker!

Suzuki’s music hit!

“He was humiliated last week when all of his music didn’t play,” said Jim Ross.

“He felt completely disrespected last week in Cincinnati,” added Excalibur.

While Suzuki was entering the ring to face Moxley, Archer pulled Kingston out by the ankles!

Kingston and Archer began brawling around the Prudential Center!

Moxley and Suzuki fought on top of the time keeper’s table, trading lefts and rights! Mox spiked Suzuki in the eye with the microphone!
