Wednesday night’s edition of DYNAMITE provided two hard-hitting championship matches with Darby Allin challenging Samoa Joe for the TNT Championship and FTR coming after the AEW World Tag Team Titles held by The Acclaimed. While neither bout resulted in new champions being crowned, both produced top-shelf contests that had the Texas crowd on their feet, and led to some wild situations after the conclusions of each bout.

The Briscoes versus FTR in a Double Dog Collar match for the ROH World Tag Team Titles, at FINAL BATTLE 2022 and Samoa Joe once again ducking out from facing the consequences of his betrayal of Wardlow, but not until after he devastated Darby Allin with the man’s own skateboard. Plus, Ricky Starks won the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale to up the ante on his WINTER IS COMING AEW World Championship fight with MJF, Jade Cargill continued her undefeated streak, and AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter gave one woman the opportunity of a lifetime!

This Friday night on RAMPAGE, kicking off at 10pm ET/9pm CT on TNT, as well as at AEWPlus.com for our international fans, the action stays fast and furious when Jon Moxley and Konosuke Takeshita collide in a rematch of their violent July clash, plus Orange Cassidy puts the All-Atlantic Championship on the line against a foe of Kip Sabian’s choosing! And, as if those weren’t enough, Hikaru Shida puts her Regina di Wave Championship on the line against The Bunny, and The Firm’s Big Bill Morrissey will be in tag team action with Lee Moriarty as his partner! Get ready for the action with a visit to the official AEW YouTube channel for DYNAMITE highlights, AEW DARK: ELEVATION, AEW DARK, and the CONTROL CENTER with Tony Schiavone!

ONE-ON-ONE…

Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Back in July, Konosuke Takeshita stepped into the ring with then-AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley under Eliminator Rules; meaning if the athlete representing DDT Pro Wrestling could defeat Mox, he would earn a shot at that Interim World Championship.

Unfortunately, the fates did not have that in the cards for Takeshita, but through that bloody battle he garnered the respect of Moxley as well as that of the AEW faithful. Because of fights like that, as well as those with Eddie Kingston, Claudio Castagnoli, and Hangman Page just to name a few, Cinnabon’s favorite wrestler became a favorite of All Elite Wrestling as well. So when he returned to AEW several weeks ago alongside the legendary Jun Akiyama, it was a joyous occasion for all, further enhanced by the announcement that Takeshita was now a full-time member of the AEW locker room.

Now officially part of the team and living in the United States, Takeshita is ready to step up to any fight opportunity, and he has chosen a huge one this Friday night on RAMPAGE! A rematch with Jon Moxley is a dream for Takeshita, and Moxley will absolutely get the kind of fight he says he’s looking for with this young veteran.

The last time was an absolute slug fest, what will this rematch bring come Friday night on TNT? It’s a huge opportunity for Takeshita to kick off his official tenure on the AEW roster, and a prime moment for Moxley to get back on track after losing his AEW World Championship to…you know. This one will kick off the festivities on Friday night and is not to be missed!

REGINA DI WAVE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

Hikaru Shida(c) vs. The Bunny (w/ Penelope Ford)

Hikaru Shida has reigned as Regina Di Wave Champion since August 14th and successfully defended the title on two occasions, including one against Emi Sakura on the August 29th edition of DARK: ELEVATION. Just as she was with the AEW Women’s World Title around her waist, Shida has been an impressive champion for Pro Wrestling WAVE with this second stint as champion, and over the last couple weeks that has garnered the attention of The Bunny and Penelope Ford.

They’ve taken a special interest in the former AEW Women’s World Champion, particularly in regards to said championship, and as a result Shida has welcomed the challenge of The Bunny with the Regina di Wave Championship at stake! It’s a first-time singles collision between these two competitors, and now AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter has upped the stakes:

So which woman will walk out on Friday as the Regina di Wave Champion AND earn a shot at Jamie Hayter’s Undisputed AEW Women’s World Championship in the process? Will Shida be dragged down the Rabbit hole by The Bunny and Penelope Ford? Or will Shida prove as dominant a champion for Pro Wrestling WAVE as she did for All Elite Wrestling?

ALL-ATLANTIC CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

Orange Cassidy(c) vs. Kip Sabian’s Choice

The All-Atlantic Championship has proven a sort of grail item for Kip Sabian; it brought him back into the ring to face “The Bastard” PAC back at ALL OUT 2022: ZERO HOUR, and clearly he has kept his eyes on that prize ever since.

But there’s always an excuse if one looks hard enough for it, and Sabian found his in the form of “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes and the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale. Thus, instead of stepping into the ring with “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy himself this Friday night on RAMPAGE, Kip has elected to find a proxy, someone else to do the dirty work of dethroning OC as the All-Atlantic Champion, and it was actually Cassidy’s choice to enter into this fight unaware of his own opponent. He told Kip to find someone to face him, and it certainly looked like Sabian at least has an idea of who to reach out to for just such an occasion.

Who will walk out to fight Orange Cassidy in his seventh defense of the All-Atlantic Championship? Given Penelope Ford’s ties to The Bunny, perhaps it will be The Butcher or The Blade, or maybe Kip’s reach extends farther than anyone in AEW realizes and he’s got friends in high (or low) places to lend a helping hand!

RUBY…

Last week on DYNAMITE, Ruby Soho made her long-awaited return to All Elite Wrestling to lend Willow Nightingale a hand when the TayJayA.S. Duo assaulted her following Willow’s victory. After having her nose shattered at the knee of Tay Melo at ALL OUT 2022, Soho had to undergo surgery to repair the damage, but as soon as she was cleared to return, Ruby picked up right where she left off with Tay and Anna Jay!

This Friday night on RAMPAGE, we will hear from Ruby Soho for the first time since her return to the fold, and hear what she has to say about her chosen targets!

THE FIRM IN ACTION…

Wednesday night on DYNAMITE during the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale, fans (and “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry) got a little taste of what happens when Lee Moriarty and Big Bill Morrissey work together. Yes, Moriarty got eliminated from the match, but Morrissey was right on the spot to make sure that Jack didn’t benefit from the elimination.

For the first time, these two members of Stokely Hathaway’s Firm will unite on RAMPAGE for some good old fashioned tag team action! Moriarty and Big Bill are wonderful compliments to one another, speed and power, style and strength, and they could very well become another threat in the All Elite Wrestling tag team division!

ATHENA

Ahead of her ROH Women’s World Championship match with Mercedes Martinez this Friday night at FINAL BATTLE 2022, we will hear from “The Fallen Goddess” Athena. In hot pursuit of the championship around Mercedes waist, Athena is on a 13 match win streak in AEW, 11 of them in singles bouts, and now she wants to add a ROH championship to her already impressive resume. What will “The Fallen Goddess” have to share less than 20 hours before her championship challenge?

RAMPAGE is coming to you starting at 10pm ET/9pm CT and features the seventh All-Atlantic Championship defense for Orange Cassidy only this time he’s left Kip Sabian in-charge of choosing his opponent! Plus Hikaru Shida defends her Regina di Wave Championship against The Bunny, The Firm is in tag team competition, and it all kicks off with Jon Moxley battling Konosuke Takeshita in a must-see collision! Get yourself prepared for the action over at the official AEW YouTube channel for DYNAMITE highlights, as well as episodes of AEW DARK: ELEVATION, AEW DARK, and the CONTROL CENTER with Tony Schiavone!
