Tonight’s episode of AEW RAMPAGE emanated from the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC!
It’s Friday and you know what that means!
Tonight’s announce team was Excalibur, “The Human Suplex Machine” Taz, “Absolute” Ricky Starks, and “The Influencer” Chris Jericho!
The Young Bucks—Nick & Matt Jackson vs. Top Flight—Dante & Darius Martin!
“This is a rematch 16 months in the making,” said Excalibur.
Dante and Nick started for their respective teams. They matched one another move for move.
“We are at a stalemate in the early goings,” said Excalibur.
Top Flight used combination offense on Nick Jackson. Darius went to work on Matt’s arm. Matt chopped Darius in the throat and then gyrated his hips. Nick Jackson tagged back in but Darius countered the Manhattan drop attempt. Dante dropkicked Nick Jackson out of the ring. Dante Martin wiped out both Bucks with a tope suicida!
Nick rocked Dante with a superkick on the apron. Darius chased Nick outside the ring but Matt was waiting for him. Matt wiped out Darius with a superkick on the arena floor! The Bucks used their infamous tandem offense on Dante and Darius, putting the ball back in the Bucks’ court.
Dante launched off his brother’s back and then scored a shotgun dropkick on Matt Jackson.
“Very impressive, I’ve gotta say it,” said Taz.
Matt Jackson dug his fingers into Dante’s eyes and then tagged out to Nick Jackson. Top Flight used combos on Nick Jackson, with Dante getting a near fall on Nick.
“Top Flight pushing the pace, trying to push the Young Bucks out of their comfort zone,” said Excalibur.
Dante was looking for the Nose Dive but Matt Jackson pushed him off the top turnbuckle and sent him crashing to the arena floor. Darius and Nick began trading strikes in the ring. The Bucks nailed Darius with the BTE Trigger which allowed Matt Jackson to score the pin!
“The Young Bucks proving once again that they are masters of tag team wrestling, knocking off #2 ranked Top Flight,” said Excalibur.
TNT Champion Scorpio Sky, “All Ego” Ethan Page, American Top Team’s Dan Lambert, & Paige VanZant were in the ring with a microphone!
Lambert: “I’m going to take the high road with Tay and Conti because they don’t need my help embarrassing them. And they are never getting this match. This interview is over.”
Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti were shown outside taking a sledge hammer to Dan Lambert’s BMW! Sammy spray painted “Be Mad” on the hood!
Tony Schiavone was backstage with HOOK for an interview!
Danhausen interrupted the interview before it began. Danhausen tried to curse HOOK but HOOK just walked away.
Trios Match!
House of Black—Brody King, Malakai Black, & Buddy Matthews vs. Fuego Del Sol, and Dark Order’s Evil Uno & Stu Grayson!
Stu tagged Buddy with a big elbow! Fuego Del Sol tagged himself in but in the meantime, Buddy Matthews threw Stu and Uno into one another! Brody King tagged in and powerslammed Fuego Del Sol over the top rope onto Evil Unto and Stu Grayson!
“We are witnessing House of Black mauling Fuego Del Sol,” said Excalibur.
Stu Grayson tagged in and took down Malakai Black. Evil Uno powerbombed Black with an assist from Grayson. Brody King broke up the pin and then he wiped out Dark Order on the outside with a cannonball senton!
Fuego Del Sol and Malakai Black were left in the ring until the other members of House of Black surrounded him, three on one!
“Fuego has a death wish,” said Taz.
The Dark Order were able to pull Buddy and Brody out of the ring. Fuego Del Sol spring boarded off the ropes but Black folded Fuego in half with a back heel kick. Black pinned Fuego, and the House of Black were dominant with their victory!
The Bucks were backstage and said they accepted FTR’s challenge for next week on DYNAMITE! Bucks vs. FTR Part 2!
The Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Qualifier Match!
Jamie Hayter (with Rebel) vs. Skye Blue!
Blue used an arm drag on Hayter. Jamie Hayter wasted no time getting the momentum back. Hayter spiked Blue with a back breaker! Hayter blocked a thrust kick from Blue but Blue followed up with an enziguri.
“This is a big opportunity for both these ladies,” said Taz.
Jamie blasted Blue with a huge backdrop driver! Hayter charged at Blue but Blue stopped Jamie in her tracks with a thrust kick! Blue climbed to the top turnbuckle but Hayter stopped her with strikes.
Hayter met Blue on the top turnbuckle and superplexed her. Hayter nailed Blue with a brainbuster. Hayter followed up with a ripcord lariat and pinned Blue!
Main Event Time!
Team Taz’s Powerhouse Hobbs vs. “Limitless” Keith Lee!
“Hobbs is on a mission,” said Starks.
“This is going to be a battle of the behemoths here in our main event,” added Excalibur.
They locked up, with each man trying to get the upper hand. Hobbs applied a side headlock on Lee with a vise like grip. Hobbs ran off the ropes with a shoulder block and Lee didn’t budge. Keith Lee shoulder blocked Powerhouse Hobbs and sent Hobbs out of the ring with his force!
Lee and Hobbs began to brawl outside the ring. Hobbs shoved Lee into the steel ring post! Hobbs ran into Lee and smashed him into the guardrail!
“He moved those rails six feet back,” said Chris Jericho.
Back in the ring, Powerhouse Hobbs hit Lee with a falling lariat. Lee fired back with an elbow strike. Lee landed a massive lariat for a near fall on Hobbs! Lee was looking for the Spirit Bomb but Hobbs countered with a basic, yet effective backdrop.
Hobbs powerslammed Keith Lee! Hobbs charged in the corner but Lee dodged it. Lee hurled Hobbs with a biel!
Taz and Starks ran to the ring with a steel chair! Lee punched the chair out of Starks’ hands! Swerve Strickland came down to even up the odds for Keith Lee! Hobbs hit the Last Will and Testament spinebuster on Lee, but Lee was able to rally back with a jackhammer!
After the match, Starks drove Strickland through a table. In the ring, Hobbs and Starks double teamed Lee! Team Taz set up a table in the corner and Hobbs speared Keith Lee through the table!
“That table exploded under the combined weight of Powerhouse Hobbs and Keith Lee,” said Excalibur.
“It’s chaos here tonight!” said Jericho.
