AEW Setting Stage For Flair Debut

September 9, 2021

Back in early August, it was reported that WWE Hall Of Famer had asked for his release from his contract with the company and was granted it shortly after. It soon came to light that the 40year vet had no 90 day- compete contract.

Since departing the company Flair has shown up on a few wrestling promotions shows including Triple Mania, where he accompanied his future Andrade his future son in law to the ring in his match with Kenny Omega in which Flair got Physical with Konan who accompanied Omega. He also showed up on NWA 73 where he made a speech and presented Trevor Murdoch with the Ten Pounds Of Gold Championship.

Since then fans have been curious about his future, and now we may know his next move. (Warning Spoilers ahead).

Many have been expecting to see Flair in AEW and now it seems it may be sooner than we thought. After yesterday’s Dynamite, an episode of Rampage was run. During the show, Andrade faced Pac and picked up the win. Following Andrade’s win over Pac, he turned on Chavo Guerrero Jr. A brawl broke out after that, and it seems that was needed to open the door for Ric Flair’s debut.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted the events on Rampage and how it appears that Ric Flair’s arrival is right around the corner.

“He got rid of Chavo, and since he’s only been there for a couple of weeks, that makes me feel that if they’re gonna replace him they’re gonna replace him with The Nature Boy, which I’m sure, if [Andrade] has Flair in his corner and he’s motivated to wrestle then he’s gonna be a big freakin’ star.”

AEW nor flair have confirmed so we will have to see where this story eventually goes.
