Edge made his return to the ring two years ago today during the 2020 Royal Rumble match. It was his first match in nearly nine years due to neck injuries. Edge would win the entire match in 2021 for the second time in his career, injuring the shoulder of AJ Styles during the match. AJ mentioned this while discussing Edge recently.
On a Wednesday’s episode of WWE’s The Bump, AJ discussed the potential of a possible match with The WWE Hall Of Famer.
“The last time Edge and I were in the ring together, he separated my shoulder with a spear, which is the way it should have been. We need to get back in the ring with a one-on-one match and get this thing over with. I want this match. He wants this match. When it going to happen? We’re getting close”
This is the first time AJ Styles has called out a legend during WrestleMania season in an attempt to cultivate a marquee match, but this is certainly a match the WWE Universe would be ecstatic for.
