Batista Officially Retires From Professional Wrestling

April 8, 2019

WrestleMania 35 was a historic night for many reasons. From monumental title victories, unforgettable moments, and the end of careers.

Triple H put his career on the line against Batista in a No DQ match that lived up to the hype and was a match of the night candidate in the eyes of many. The match did indeed mark the end of a career, only not the career of Triple H.

Triple H and Batista raged war inside and outside of the ring. From table spots, to steel chains, and of course Triple H’s trademark weapon of choice the sledgehammer even made it’s way into the match. But in the end, Triple H was able to fend off the attack of The Animal as he picked up the win after hitting the pedigree and scoring the pinfall.

Following the match Batista took to twitter to reflect on the his WrestleMania 35 match, and his WWE career as a whole. He talked about his love for the business and thanked the fans, whether they boo’d him or cheered him on, for letting him be a small part in their lives. He then officially announced his retirement from sports entertainment, and expressed how grateful he was for the journey.

Batista wrote:

“@WWEUniverse Thank you for letting me entertain you. I love this business and whether you cheered me or jeered me, I’m grateful for being a small part of your life. I am officially retired from sports entertainment and I am grateful for every second of my amazing journey ✌?”
