FTR has cemented itself as one of the best on AEW’s Tag Team Division.
FTR at one time held the AAA and AEW world championships at the same time. They have built their popularity on an old-school mentality, and the way they work in the ring is their way of paying homage to those older tag teams that have come before them. FTR has noted that The Hart Foundation was a big inspiration for them and now it looks like a key member of the Hart Foundation is reciprocating the respect and admiration.
On last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, CM Punk and Jon Moxley squared off against FTR in a match that was well received online. However, FTR would end up losing the match.
Dax Harwood would take to Twitter to say that Bret Hart texted him after their match last week, and told him FTR is by far the greatest tag team in the world.
Bret Hart text me and told me how much he enjoyed our match. Said we’re by far the best team in the world. Said we should’ve won, tho. We’ll get ‘em next time, Bret…
FTR has definitely earned their respect, we now have to wait and see if their back and forth with The Briscoe Brothers on social media will eventually lead to their much anticipated match.
