As The OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) was being interviewed backstage after winning the ROH World Tag Team Title for the first time since 2015, two familiar faces approached them to offer congratulations and issue a challenge.
“There’s only one thing left to do,” said Jay Briscoe, standing alongside his brother, Mark.
“Final Battle?” Bennett asked rhetorically.
“There’d be no greater honor than if this is the end, to step in the ring with the greatest tag team in this company’s history, the Briscoes,” Taven said.
“Let’s do it,” Mark Briscoe said.
And now it’s official. It’ll be The OGK versus the 11-time former ROH World Tag Team Champion Briscoes at Final Battle: End of an Era on Dec. 11 in Baltimore.
There’s plenty of history between the two teams. Throughout 2014 and 2015, Taven and Bennett — then known as The Kingdom — and the Briscoes battled numerous times and traded victories.
Both teams are as good now as they’ve ever been.
The OGK is 6-1 since reuniting last year and on a four-match winning streak. The Briscoes, who are the current GCW Tag Team Champions, are 6-1 since getting back on the same page several months ago. Their only loss in that span was to The OGK at Death Before Dishonor in September.
Will The OGK make it two wins in a row over the Briscoes? Or will Dem Boys make it a dozen ROH World Tag Team Title reigns?
