Earlier this month, former WWE and Ring of Honor Star Charlie Haas made his return to wrestling, when he debuted in IMPACT on the January 13th episode of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV. Haas interrupted Josh Alexander, and challenged the former World Champion to a match.
Alexander initially declined the challenge, stating that he needed to focus on regaining the IMPACT World Title first. However, Haas was not satisfied with Alexander’s answer and he threw a punch, ultimately resulting in a match between to two on the January 20th, 2022 episode of IMPACT on AXS TV. During the match Haas would suffer and injury, which resulted in him being stretched out following the conclusion on the contest.
Charlie Haas was recently a guest on The Angle Podcast with Joe Karni, and he discussed his match with Josh Alexander on IMPACT. Haas gave an update on his injury, and talked about how it happened; he stated that he was knocked out at one point and doesn’t even remember finishing the match.
On the injury that took place against Josh Alexander:
“I thought it was going to be a snug Japanese strong style match, it was hard-hitting! I feel bad because I caught a knee somewhere in there. I tripped going for a gore in the corner and took a knee in the turnbuckle and I got knocked out. I don’t remember finishing the match really. I didn’t even watch the match because I feel in my heart that it was good until then. I do have to say this about Josh Alexander, ultimate pro and he is the pinnacle. I’d love to have 1 more rematch with him.”
Haas had previously tweeted an update letting fans know he was alright, following the “freak” injury he sustained at the recent IMPACT wrestling TV tapings.
