Last night in St. Louis, World Wrestling Entertainment presented one of their “Big Four” Premium Live Events, the Royal Rumble, and we are now OFFICIALLY on the Road to WrestleMania. And, per typical this time of year, stories drop like flies about who is facing whom, what angles are being discussed, the works.
According to Fightful Select, Charlotte Flair vs Ronda Rousey has been the plan for WrestleMania, which was first reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter shortly before the WWE Royal Rumble Event. Now that Rousey was victorious in last night’s Women’s Rumble match, more details have become known.
Again, as we all know in this business, plans can change on a dime. But word started going around Monday Night RAW last week that Rousey/Flair had been penciled in for WrestleMania for the SmackDown side of things. This would leave “Big Time Becks” Becky Lynch against Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s title on the red brand.
Fightful Select added they were told by WWE sources:
“Charlotte Flair has been pushing for this feud for months now and specifically World Wrestling Entertainment has been actively after Rousey to confirm her return plans quickly after the birth of her first child in 2021.”
We will keep you updated if we hear anything more about plans for WrestleMania 38.
