Eck’s Files: Shane Taylor To Break Silence About Kenny King; Big Announcement On Women’s Division Coming; Conan O’Brien Loves That Danhausen

It’s been nearly two months since Kenny King smashed a chair over Shane Taylor’s head and cost him his match against ROH World Champion RUSH, and Taylor has yet to say a word about his former friend’s actions.

That will change on Tuesday’s episode of “ROH Week By Week,” as Taylor will finally address the situation.

It’s logical to assume Taylor will say he’s seeking revenge, and I’m all for King getting what’s coming to him. That said, I’d hate to see Taylor be consumed by a feud with King.

Taylor needs to keep his eyes on the ultimate prize — the ROH World Championship. He also has to have his head right when he defends the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Title with The Soldiers of Savagery.

King has already cost Taylor one championship; Taylor cannot allow it to happen again by losing focus. Here’s hoping Taylor administers justice swiftly and moves on.

Also on “ROH Week By Week” Tuesday, there will be a big announcement regarding the women’s division.

Could it have something to do with the ROH Women’s World Title Tournament that will be taking place this summer?

Danhausen is becoming quite a sought-after podcast guest, and not just for those of the pro wrestling variety.

The very nice, very evil one appeared on Conan O’Brien’s podcast this week.

It’s no secret that Danhausen idolizes O’Brien, and apparently O’Brien loves that Danhausen. In fact, the award-winning talk show host and comedy writer said that he wants “to be part of Danhausen’s world.”

“I want inhausen and right nowhausen. Not tomorrowhausen but todayhausen,” O’Brien said. “I’m not f***ing aroundhausen. I’m serioushausen. So let’s make this happenhausen. Let’s sign a contracthausen. I want to get paidhausen.”

Danhausen replied that O’Brien would get paid in “wonderful sacks of human money.”

Dave Honor, if that is your real name, you need to get on this. Immediatelyhausen.

It appears as if Flamita is done with MexiSquad after all.

A brawl between Flamita and tag partner Bandido broke out in the middle of their match against Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham on last week’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling.” Then Flamita abandoned Bandido, who fell victim to Lethal’s figure-four leglock.

At the 19th Anniversary show three weeks ago, Flamita wasn’t on the same page as Bandido and Rey Horus in their loss to ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions Shane Taylor Promotions. That led to an impromptu triple threat match between the MexiSquad members that night, which Bandido won by pinning Flamita.

Flamita refused to shake Bandido’s hand after the match, but he stepped up to team with Bandido against Lethal and Gresham when it was announced that a banged-up Horus was unable to compete.

In retrospect, perhaps we should’ve seen Flamita’s change in attitude coming. In his pre-match comments before facing Flip Gordon last month, Flamita said: “I know you’re no longer that good boy that likes to fly. There is something dark within you now. But you know what? I have rough blood within me, too.”

“The Voice of Ring of Honor” Bobby Cruise was my guest on the latest episode of “The ROHStrong Podcast,” which drops this Monday morning on ROHWrestling.com and most podcast platforms.

Cruise reflected on his many memorable moments as ROH’s ring announcer, including debuting as Steve Corino’s personal ring announcer, having a ringside seat for numerous classic matches, and getting a little too close to the action in incidents involving Lethal and Necro Butcher. He also talked about his experience announcing for WWE and his relationship with Hall of Fame ring announcer Howard Finkel.

If you didn’t catch the premiere of the 500th episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling” on Best On The Planet last night, you definitely don’t want to miss the show when it airs on your local Sinclair channel this weekend or Monday on FITE and ROHWrestling.com.

The landmark show is headlined by Jay Briscoe versus Mark Briscoe and also features an ROH Pure Title defense by Gresham against Lethal.

Speaking of the Briscoes, it will be an “All Briscoes Weekend” on ROH’s YouTube channel.

Beginning Saturday morning and running through the end of Sunday, you can relive some of the Briscoes’ greatest matches, including epic clashes against the Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa), Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli), Kevin Steen and El Generico and many more.

Congratulations to Kellyanne on winning the MCW (Melbourne City Wrestling) Women’s Title last week in her native Australia.

In a clash in styles, Beer City Bruiser takes on Joe Keys on “ROH Week By Week” Tuesday.

Keys has become an adept technical wrestler, but he shouldn’t expect a lot of mat wrestling when he faces Bruiser. Bruiser has made it perfectly clear that he will do whatever it takes to win, and if he can hurt his opponent in the process, even better.

Until next time, keep safe and stay #ROHStrong!
