Exclusive: Update On When Mance Warner’s MLW Contract Expires

October 14, 2021

Mance Warner signed a contract with MLW back in January of 2019, and things haven’t gone the way everyone envisioned.

I previously reported that Warner had asked for his release from his MLW contract back in October of last year, but was denied his request. At the time, sources had also relayed to me that “AEW 100% has interest” in Warner, and he was even backstage multiple times last year at Dynamites and even AEW’s Revolution 2020 PPV in Chicago.

In an update on Mance Warner’s contract status with MLW I have confirmed after speaking with multiple sources that his contract is set to expire at the end of January 2022.

Warner has been quietly awaiting free agency after multiple requests for his MLW release were denied by the company. We had previously heard from sources within both NXT and AEW that there had been interest in the “Southern Psycho,” but MLW’s refusal to release Warner from his contract made any chance of negotiations impossible.

Additionally, there is no non-compete clause as his contract expiring. Once finished, Warner is free and clear to appear for whoever, whenever.

Mance Warner recently posted a tweet in response to AEW Star MJF stating that “he’s safe until February” which would be when the “Sourthern Psycho” officially becomes a free agent.

Currently, Mance Warner is one half of the GCW Tag Team Champions along with Matthew Justice, who will be defending their titles against ROH Stars The Briscoes at GCW’s War Ready iPPV from Los Angeles on October 23rd.
