Female Wrestler Of The Year: Session Moth Martina

February 1, 2021

There were only a handful of women’s matches in ROH in 2020 due to the pandemic, but Session Moth Martina made the most of her limited opportunities.

The beer-drinking, booty-grinding lass from Dublin, Ireland made her highly anticipated ROH debut in February against Sumie Sakai before a packed house at Baltimore’s UMBC Event Center. The fans gave her a hearty welcome, and Martina fed off their energy.

She went on to defeat Sakai, a former Women of Honor World Champion. With the victory, Martina immediately established that she’s a dangerous competitor in addition to being an entertaining performer.

In her second match, Martina appeared to be on the verge of defeating another former world champion in Angelina Love, but Mandy Leon saved her partner in The Allure by distracting the referee.

In Martina’s only other ROH match, she was on the winning side of an eight-person tag match in which she was the lone female competitor.
