Following His Win: Brock Lesnar Broke Two WWE Records At Royal Rumble 2022

WWE superstar Brock Lesnar broke two records after winning the men’s Royal Rumble bout last month. Lesnar came into the match last and swiftly eliminated five WWE Superstars to emerge the winner of the Royal Rumble contest for the second time in his illustrious career. On his way to making history, The Beast Incarnate overcame celebrities such as Bad Bunny, Riddle, Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, and Drew McIntyre.

Lesnar had to work double-time at the Royal Rumble event to win it. Lesnar had previously lost the WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley after Paul Heyman turned against him by giving Roman Reigns the WWE Championship. After that, he entered the Royal Rumble, and the rest, as they say, is history. The Royal Rumble is a highly anticipated match, and it attracts attention from all corners of the world. One of the closest followers will be, undoubtedly, the first man to ever win the Royal Rumble. In an interview covered by Betway casino blog, Hacksaw Jim Duggan revealed what wrestlers must do to win the Royal Rumble. You could argue that perhaps all the participants read that piece on how to win the Royal Rumble as the comments were from someone who won the first-ever Royal Rumble.

First, in the Royal Rumble match, it was the second time in his career that Lesnar entered the game last and swiftly eliminated five WWE superstars to win the Royal Rumble bout. His win saw him set two new Royal Rumble records. Reports revealed that Lesner set the record of being the Royal Rumble winner that had spent the least amount of time in the ring. Lesner spent 2 minutes 32 seconds in the ring before winning. The record was initially held by Edge, who had managed to win the 2010 Royal Rumble in 7 minutes and 37 seconds.

Second, Lesnar also holds the record of the most years between two Royal Rumble wins. The Beast won his first Royal Rumble match in 2003. Therefore, winning the second in 2022 means there is a 19-year gap between his wins. In 2003, Lesnar won the Royal Rumble, and he overcame Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 19 to win the WWE Championship.

Triple H was the holder of the record for most years between victories at the Royal Rumble before Lesnar broke it. Triple H first won the Royal Rumble in 2002 and the next one in 2016. Others who have won the Royal Rumble include Hall of Famer Edge, who has since retired won it in 2010 and 2011. Batista won it in 2005 and 2014, while Randy Orton won in 2009 and 2017.

The other record that Lesnar set was becoming the fourth man in WWE history to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match from the number 30 position. The other three WWE superstars to have won from the same spot include The Undertaker in 2007, John Cena in 2008, and Triple H in 2016. Additionally, he joined the list of the wrestlers who have won the bout more than once. The others are Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Batista, John Cena, Tripple H, Edge, and Randy Orton.

Currently, Lesnar has chosen to face the Tribal Chief in WrestleMania 38’s main event for the Universal Championship. He could also meet him in the two heavyweight championships; who knows?

Lesner becomes one of six opponents in the Elimination Chamber match. Here, his WWE Championship will be on the line. Recent reports have reported that Vince McMahon is keen on a title vs. title match at WrestleMania. This means that Lesnar has the chance to reclaim the title from Lashley later in the month. Fans will discover what happens soon as the Elimination Chamber will go on air on 19th February from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

As Lesnar awaits his bout with Reigns at WrestleMania 38, he will attempt to regain the WWE Championship in two weeks. However, he will have to square off with Lashley, Austin Theory, AJ Styles, Riddle, and Seth Rollins at Elimination Chamber. Will WWE go in that direction? Time will tell.

Suppose Lesnar and Reigns face off at WrestleMania 38; this will be the third time the two are meeting on the Grandest Stage of Them All. The two superstars first met at Wrestlemania 31, in which Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The second time they met was during WrestleMania 34, three years after their first meeting. This time around, Lesner emerged as the winner to retain the title.

It is apparent that WWE has been pushing Lensnar a lot as a main event star throughout his second spell with the company. Therefore, he is in a great position to keep breaking records. Lesnar and Reigns have set various remarkable milestones during their respective main event run in the WWE.
