Kenny Omega is one of the top wrestlers of this generation. Not once, but twice has The Cleaner topped the PWI-500. His technical style and athleticism have made him a household name for years now and he has been regarded by many as one of, if not the, best wrestler in the world.
With news breaking that Cody Rhodes is officially out of AEW, the contract situation on more talent will start to be discussed more heavily. Of course, this includes the former AEW World Champion specifically. Prior to the Cody news, Dave Meltzer went into detail about the rumors that WWE was looking to sign one of the founding members of AEW on Wrestling Observer Radio. In doing so, Meltzer revealed at Omega’s AEW contract will expire on February 1, 2023.
Omega has been out of action since November after losing the AEW World Championship to Adam Page at Full Gear. Omega had also been dealing with numerous injuries that required surgery. No timetable has yet been set for his return to the ring.
