Lio Rush Set to Become Free Agent

January 22, 2022

Although Lio Rush made his AEW debut at the Double or Nothing event in May, the former WWE star didn’t sign with the promotion until late-September. It seems as though his contract was short-term, as the 27-year-old is set to become a free agent once again on Valentine’s Day.

Rush has primarily been teaming with Dante Martin in the absence of Top Flight partner Darius Martin. Rush seemingly grew frustrated with AEW and its President, Tony Khan, back in December when he vented publicly on the Big Swole controversy. The last matches that Rush has had in AEW were the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal in December and a victory over the Acclaimed in November. Rush has recently competed in NJPW and Defy.
