It had previously been speculated and reported that John Cena would be involved in a segment with Elias possibly leading to a match between the to on the show. However now that appears to no longer be in the cards, as according to a report from PWInsider John Cena will be the special guest referee for the retirement match between Kurt Angle and Baron Corbin.
Even though it looks like we won’t see John Cena in a match this year, at least you get to see him involved Kurt Angle’s final match in some form.
