Since his release from WWE back in April, Matt Cardona (fka. Zack Ryder) has been making noise on the independent wrestling circuit.
The former WWE star has seen himself in a few high-profile matches as he had faced and defeated deathmatch star, Nick Gage for the GCW Title. He would eventually lose the GCW title to AEW star Jon Moxley, and would since go on to a feud with indie star Effy.
Effy and Cardona have been trading shots back and forth on social media for months, and things continued after Effy posted his CashApp username and a photo of an expensive speeding ticket he recently received.
Not long after, Effy’s friend and AEW star Joey Janela would jump in the conversation. Janela made a joke about how GCW is known for doing illegal stuff and Cardona then followed up Janella with a savage burn.
“My dad was a cop.
Don’t brag about doing illegal shit. It’s not cool Joey. We aren’t in high school anymore. Although you still look a backyard wrestler.”
We will have to see how Janela will respond and if this will lead to anything between the two in the future.
