It looks like the leader of “MDK” will be staying with GCW for the long haul.
According to Fightful, Game Changer Wrestling has signed Nick Gage to an exclusive, multi-year contract. Fightful noted that with the signing Gage was able to cut down on the matches he has to wrestle moving forward.
Fightful spoke with Brett Lauderdale Owner of GCW who Had This To Say:
“This is a major milestone moment for both Nick and GCW. I have always been against the idea of contracts in GCW but there are exceptions to every rule.
From day 1, Nick has put his body, and literally his life on the line for the fans inside the squared circle. He deserves, and has earned the right to be rewarded for 20+ years of hard work and sacrifice.
This historic contract will do just that, allowing him to continue his in-ring career at a pace that is beneficial to his health, while beginning to focus on opportunities that take him towards the next phase of his career.
GCW would not have achieved the level of success it has without Nick F’N Gage, and we are proud to be able to say that GCW will remain Nick’s home for the rest of his career,”
Over the past couple of years, Nick Gage has become a household name. While he has been known on the deathmatch scene for years, his popularity gained a boost after first being featured on the Dark Side Of The Ring series, which detailed the life and legal struggles of Gage.
He then really gained a number of fans after being brought into AEW by MJF to compete against Chris Jericho, during the five labors of Jericho.
Gage recently made his return to GCW after taking some time off and Along with Matt Tremont, Gage won the GCW Tag Team Championships during “The WRLD on GCW” show.
