The NWA is known for it’s rich history and lasting legacies that have been left behind by some of wrestling’s biggest stars, including Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes.
What many may not realize is that some of the biggest Tag teams have also graced an NWA ring, including The Rock N’ Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson), The Andersons (Ole and Arn Anderson), and The Midnight Express.. just to name a few.
Now NWA is looking for the next big thing in tag team wrestling. NWA announced that it will be excepting submissions for a spot in this year’s returning Crockett Cup.
Per NWA:
“The Crockett Cup is upon us, and as the bracket of competition takes shape NWA President William Patrick Corgan believes that the tag-team of tomorrow has yet to be discovered. In response the NWA has decided to find that tag team and offer them an opportunity of a lifetime, to break out on the national stage as competitors in the 2022 Crockett Cup. If you are that tag team of tomorrow the NWA and WPC want you to reach out at [email protected]. now!”
This is a very unique idea NWA is planning, and it will be exciting to see all of the different teams that are introduced.
