WWE released Tye Dillinger earlier this year from the company. His fiance Peyton Royce is still employed with WWE and just recently won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships along with her partner in The IIconics, Billie Kay.
The new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The IIconics, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce were both guests on a recent episode of former WWE Ring Announcer Lilian Garcia’s podcast “Chasing Glory”. During the interview Peyton Royce openly spoke about Dillinger’s request to be let go from his contract, and WWE granting him his release.
Peyton said she understands his decision to leave the company and explained her fiance’s reason for wanting his release. She stated that he just loves to wrestle and talked about the two of them discussing his decision.
Peyton said:
“He wants to wrestle. He loves wrestling, and that’s what he wants to do. And so he’s going to go make himself happy and he’s going to do that.”
“He used to ask me, ‘Babe, would you still, like, um, what do you think’ and I would always say, ‘I just want you to be happy and whatever, whatever that is, you do that, and I will support you because as long as you’re happy, I need you to be happy.’”
