Here’s a preview of this weekend’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling:”

ROH World Tag Team Title Pure Rules Match: Tracy Williams & Rhett Titus of The Foundation vs. Dragon Lee & Kenny King of La Facción Ingobernable

The latest battle in the faction feud between The Foundation and La Faccion Ingobernable pits two undefeated tag teams against each other with the championship on the line.

Former tag team champions Lee and King were scheduled to defend the title against Williams and Titus at the 19th Anniversary pay-per-view in March, but Lee was unable to compete after undergoing surgery to repair his ruptured eardrum.

Lee’s father, Bestia del Ring, took Lee’s place in the match, and Williams and Titus won the title when Titus forced Bestia to submit to a crouching full nelson.

Lee and King had won the belts from The Foundation’s Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham in February after defeating the Briscoes in a No. 1 contender’s match.

Williams and Titus are coming off a successful title defense against The OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett). After that match, it was announced that all of the title defenses by Williams and Titus going forward would be Pure Rules matches.

That would seem to favor Williams and Titus, but it was a Pure Rules Match when Lee and King defeated Lethal and Gresham.

Survival of the Fittest Qualifying Match: Dak Draper vs. Eli Isom

The first time Draper was in the ring with Isom he knew that their careers would be intertwined. That initial encounter occurred in a dark six-man tag match at — ironically — Survival of the Fittest in 2018.

Three years later, Draper and Isom are rising stars in ROH and are squaring off in a SOTF qualifier for a spot in the six-way elimination final. The winner of SOTF gets a future shot at the ROH World Title.

“I expect to be sitting here for the next decade talking about bigger and bigger matches versus Eli Isom,” Draper said. “Every time Eli and I meet we elevate ourselves. Every collision pushes us higher, and higher, and higher. But there’s nobody that can outfly ‘The Mile High Magnum.’ Which is why after Survival of the Fittest, I’ll get my shot and then become the Ring of Honor World Champion.”

In their only prior one-on-one meeting, Draper and Isom wrestled to a 15-minute draw in April. Isom acknowledges how talented Draper is, but he believes he would’ve beaten Draper if he had been granted five more minutes.

Isom will get an opportunity to back up his words. This match will have a 20-minute time limit, only this time the stakes are much higher.

“This is for an opportunity at the Ring of Honor World Championship, and that’s an opportunity that I’ve longed for,” Isom said. “So, Dak, you’re going to have to bring everything you brought last time and then some if you think you’re going to beat Eli Isom. Those are not empty words. That’s a promise.”
