Here’s a preview of this weekend’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling:”

ROH World Tag Team Title Match: Champions The Foundation (Tracy Williams & Rhett Titus) vs. The OGK (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett)

This will be the first title defense for Williams and Titus since they won the championship from La Faccion Ingobernable’s Kenny King and Bestia del Ring (substituting for the injured Dragon Lee) at the 19th Anniversary pay-per-view in March.

Their challengers are no strangers to the belts. Taven and Bennett spent three months at ROH World Tag Team Champions in 2015. That year, they also held New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Title for three months, establishing themselves as one of the best tag teams in the world.

However, the year ended on a bitter note for Taven and Bennett. At Final Battle that December, Taven suffered a torn ACL as he and Bennett lost the ROH World Tag Team Title. To add insult to injury, Bennett left the company afterward.

Since reuniting last fall, Taven and Bennett have been determined to rewrite the ending to their story. Now they have that opportunity.

“Five years ago when I left, you were at your weakest,” Bennett said to Taven during a recent interview. “You’re my best friend and I left you at your weakest, and that is not something that I take lightly. I think about it all the time. And in my mind, I go, ‘How do I repay him? How do I repay someone who gave me so much?’

“I thought of one way: We rewrite history by becoming the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions. But not only that; I want to do one better. I want to remind everybody else that The Kingdom is, was, and will always be the best damn tag team in the world.”

Despite having the edge in years together and big-match experience as a team, The OGK faces a tall order in attempting to dethrone Williams and Titus, who are 3-0 as tag team partners.

Pure Rules Match: Rocky Romero vs. Fred Yehi

This match will have a huge impact on the Pure Title picture, as Yehi is No. 2 in the latest rankings and Romero is No. 4.

Both competitors are coming off big victories: Yehi won a gauntlet match over Wheeler Yuta, World Famous CB, Will Ferrara, Dante Caballero and Eric Martin; and Romero defeated Delirious.

Romero has been wrestling for more than 20 years and won championships all over the world, but Yehi has proven that he can defeat world class competition. “The Savageweight” knocked off two-time former ROH World Television Champion Silas Young in the Pure Title Tournament last year.
