Highlights from Women’s Division Wednesday: Allysin Kay defeats Willow in ROH Women’s World Title First-Round Match

ROH Women’s World Title Tournament First-Round Match: Quinn McKay vs. Mandy Leon
(20-minute time limit)

McKay speared Leon at the opening bell. McKay locked on Tangerine Dream, but Leon escaped and rolled out of the ring. Leon grabbed McKay’s foot and pulled her from the ring, but it backfired. McKay tossed Leon into the barricade and suplexed her on the floor. Back inside the ring, Leon hit a running knee followed by a backbreaker for a near fall. Leon stayed on the attack, hitting a running Unprettier for a near fall.

McKay answered with Eye of the Hurricane for a two count and a powerslam for a near fall. McKay jumped on Leon’s back and applied Tangerine Dream again. Leon countered with a backpack stunner for a near fall. Leon went for Astral Projection, but McKay escaped. McKay rolled up Leon, crossed Leon’s legs and pinned her in 7:12.

With her first win in ROH, McKay advances to the quarterfinals to face Rok-C.

Sit-down interviews with Marti Belle and Trish Adora

ROH Women’s World Title Tournament First-Round Match: Marti Belle vs. Trish Adora
(20-minute time limit)

Belle blocked a lariat and connected with a forearm to the jaw that rocked Adora. Belle hit a running knee lift for a two count. She followed with another running knee to the face while Adora was sitting up for another near fall. Belle trapped Adora in the corner and landed a series of body blows.

Adora rallied with two running forearms and a crossbody. Adora used a crucifix to score a two count. Adora began targeting Belle’s left arm. Adora caught Belle in La Magistral Cradle for a two count. Adora applied Cattle Mutilation, and Belle tapped out at the 7:13 mark.

Adora will face Allysin Kay in the quarterfinals.

King and Dickinson immediately went on the attack and isolated Horus. After King inadvertently clotheslined Dickinson, Horus hit a springboard twisting DDT off the top rope on King. In an amazing display of strength, Bandido press-slammed Dickinson and tossed him onto King on the floor. Bandido then hit Fosbury Flop on both of them, and Horus followed with a corkscrew crossbody.

Back inside the ring, Bandido hit a standing shooting star press on Dickinson, but King broke up the pin. Dickinson hit a running Death Valley Driver on Horus, and King followed with a senton. King trapped Bandido in a Boston Crab, while Dickinson applied the STF to Horus. Bandido made it to the ropes. Dickinson landed a Brainbuster on Bandido, but Horus made the save. Horus hit a hurricanrana over the top rope that took King to the floor. As Horus held Dickinson between the ropes, Bandido hit 21 Plex on Dickinson for the win.

After the match, La Facción Ingobernable (RUSH, Dragon Lee, Kenny King and Bestia del Ring) attacked both teams. LFI unmasked Bandido and Horus during the beatdown, but they were able to conceal their faces.
