Rok-C Outlasts Miranda Alize To Win The ROH Women’s World Title Tournament

September 13, 2021

PHILADELPHIA — When the first women’s match in ROH took place in June 2002, Rok-C wasn’t even born yet. Now she is the face of the company’s revamped women’s division.

The 19-year-old “Prodigy” made history Sunday night at the 2300 Arena when she defeated Miranda Alize in the final of the Quest for Gold tournament to crown the first ROH Women’s World Champion.

Alize was the aggressor for the majority of the match, which went nearly 20 minutes, but “The Lucha Baddie” couldn’t put the resilient Rok-C away.

Alize appeared to be on the verge of victory after stunning Rok-C with a pair of superkicks to put her in position for the Drive By.

However, Rok-C caught the charging Alize with a superkick of her own, followed by a back heel kick to the midsection. Rok-C then hit Code Rok for the victory.

ROH Board of Directors member Maria Kanellis-Bennett presented the new championship belt to Rok-C, who was joined in the ring by her parents.

Rok-C and Alize both went into the match undefeated in ROH since debuting with the company in the spring.

Rok-C defeated former Women of Honor World Champion Sumie Sakai, Quinn McKay and seven-time former world champion Angelina Love to reach the tournament final. Alize beat Alex Gracia, former Shimmer Champion Nicole Savoy and Trish Adora in the tournament.
