Samoa Joe recaptured the NXT Title at Takeover 36 after defeating Karrion Kross. It now looks like this title reign for Joe has come to an end.
Samoa Joe took to social media yesterday evening to announce that WWE medical has informed him, that due to undisclosed injuries, he has been asked to step away from the ring for an undetermined period of time. In the video, Joe said that as the new NXT era is being ushered in NXT deserves a fight champion. As difficult of a decision, it was Joe Reluctantly relinquished the NXT Title.
WWE has not commented on the specifics of the injuries but they did put out a post on Twitter following up Joe’s video and announce that as of last night Joe has relinquished the NXT title. We will have to see what happens next for NXT. Stick with Bodyslam.net for any news on this developing story.
