Sunday evening Samoa Joe took to social media to announce that he would be vacating the NXT Championship immediately following being told by NXT medical that due to an undisclosed injury he had to step away for an undetermined amount of time. while officials have not given a specific time frame we now have a little more clear outlook on the timetable for Joe’s return.
PW Insider is reporting that Samoa Joe’s break from in-ring action is not expected to be a long one. At this point, there is no word on when he will be back in the ring, but WWE medical was the one who made the call.
Samoa Joe is not expected out of action for an extended period of time but there’s no word yet as to when he’ll be back. We are told the decision to strip him was not a creative one but what was stated, WWE medical made the call, so the decision was made to strip Joe and crown a new champion tonight
A fatal four-way between Pete Dunn, Tommaso Champa, LA Knight, and Kyle O’Reilly will be held tonight to crown a new NXT championship, but we can assure you that once Joe is cleared to come back he will be gunning for the title again.
