September Wrestler Of The Month: Rok-C

October 4, 2021

When you’re bestowed the moniker “The Prodigy,” achieving great things is expected.

Rok-C proved last month that she’s more than just a fancy nickname. At 19 years old, she made history by winning the Quest for Gold tournament to become the inaugural holder of the new ROH Women’s World Championship.

In the tournament final at Death Before Dishonor on Sept. 12, Rok-C scored a hard-fought victory over the talented Miranda Alize, who had beaten her in two previous meetings outside of ROH. It was voted the fans’ favorite match on the show in a poll on ROHWrestling.com.

On her way to the championship match of the 15-competitor tournament, Rok-C defeated former world champions Angelina Love and Sumie Sakai, both of whom have been wrestling longer than she has been alive. She also beat a determined Quinn McKay.

Since making her ROH debut in the spring, Rok-C is 5-0 in singles matches and 2-0-1 in tag team competition.

Since winning the title, Rok-C has vowed to take on all challengers, including those who aren’t on the ROH roster. She has already made good on that promise, as she successfully defended the championship against international star Killer Kelly on an independent show in Texas on Sept. 25.
