In what should be one of the happier weeks in Torrie Wilson’s life, will have a cloud hanging over it. It has been reported that Al Wilson, Torrie’s father passed away earlier this week.
Torrie Wilson is going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame tonight. She was one of the biggest crossover stars from WWE’s purchase of WCW in 2001.
Torrie’s career focused more on storyline than memorable matches. One of the biggest storylines of her career was when her father became an on screen character. Al Wilson in storyline was widowed and ended up falling for Torrie’s rival Dawn Marie.
In what started as a ploy to get Torrie to sleep with Dawn. Turned into Dawn falling for Al and Al doing the same with Dawn. This led to an underwear wedding and a wild night to follow. In storyline Al passed away from having too much sex. At the funeral, Torrie and Dawn got into a fight over the casket.
What may have been one of the more ludicrous storylines on Smackdown, lead to moments some fans will remember for a long time.
We here at Bodyslam send our condolences to Torrie and her family. We are sure her speech tonight will be full of joy and sorrow. At least there is solace in knowing that Al knew about Torrie being a hall of famer before his untimely passing.
Torrie spoke out in an Instagram post saying
This week is an incredible one for me but has also brought me some horrible pain in the form of a sudden loss. . Just wanted to tell you to make that call to a loved one, don’t put it off…and TELL someone you love em and don’t think twice about it. .That’s all. Big love.
