UFC 249 Media Call: Tony Ferguson VS Justin Gaethje

May 5, 2020

The UFC will make history this Saturday Night in Jacksonville, FL as being the first sporting event to return to action while the rest of the country is still going through the effect of the COVID-19 global pandemic. All eyes will be on the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena as Tony Ferguson goes up against Justin Gaethje for the Interim Lightweight Championship. Ferguson and Gaethje are fighting for the Interim Lightweight Title due to Khabib Nurmagomedov not being able travel to the event due to being quarantined in Russia.

Also on the card Henry Cejudo defends his Bantamweight Title against Dominick Cruz. Cejudo’s initial plan was on defending his bantamweight belt against Jose Aldo at UFC 250 on May 9 in Brazil, but with all of the postponements and cancellations caused by the coronavirus pandemic, those plans changed. Cejudo will now put his belt on the line against former titleholder Dominick Cruz, who is returning from a three-year-plus layoff. Judging by their press conference today things should get pretty personal this Saturday Night.

Ahead of their headlining bout, Cejudo and Cruz squared off on a UFC 249 media call with reporters, which quickly devolved into a trash talk fest.
