The norm in WWE is the pay-per-view events take place on Sunday in general. However, it seems the company will be making an exception for their SummerSlam pay-per-view.
WWE has officially revealed that this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view will be taking place on August 21, which will be a Saturday and not a Sunday.
WWE today announced that SummerSlam 2021 will take place on Saturday, August 21 from a summer destination location. The venue will be revealed during the 2021 Belmont Stakes’ pre-race show on NBC next Saturday, June 5.
The venue for the pay-per-view will be announced next week.
