Joe Coffey def. Mark Andrews in an NXT UK Championship Tournament First-Round Match

In what Nigel McGuinness dubbed a “clash of styles,” Joe Coffey brought the fisticuffs to his bout with Mark Andrews, who looked to lean on his agility and aerial attacks in an edge-of-your-seat NXT UK Title Tournament First-Round Match.

The Subculture member did his best to take advantage of his superior speed against The Iron King, blitzing him with a middle-rope hurricanrana and a leaping into the air from the ring apron to drive his boots into his opponent’s chest.

Coffey, who has twice challenged for the NXT UK Title, recovered to blast Andrews with a belly-to-belly overhead suplex and the decisive All the Best for the Bells. The Iron King now stands just two wins away from earning his first championship and bringing more gold to Gallus.

Amale def. Nina Samuels

As is the case with most of Nina Samuels’ matches, this one against Amale was sparked by a contentious interaction between Samuels and her guest on the latest edition of “The Nina Samuels Show.”

Samuels nearly backed up her bluster when she trapped Amale in the ropes and targeted her spine, but The French Hope fired back with some menacing reverse elbows and a bulldog.

Moments later, Amale delivered a punishing big boot followed by the Hope Breaker to earn the victory.

Chase University def. Eddie Dennis & Saxon Huxley

After interrupting Andre Chase while “The Dean of Chase U” was attempting to impart his wisdom upon some of his fellow Superstars, Eddie Dennis accepted Chase’s challenge of trying to mentor the frenetic Saxon Huxley.

Dennis certainly had his work cut out for him. He had a difficult time simply convincing Huxley to go to his corner at the start of the match, and the former Symbiosis member continued to berate his partner when Dennis tagged himself into the bout.

And after a timely tag from Bodhi Hayward to Chase, the partners linked up for the match-ending Fratliner.

Following the loss, Dennis shoved Huxley and repeatedly poked him in the chest, and Huxley responded with a chokeslam powerbomb. Then, Huxley chest-bumped with Hayward, and Chase shook the crazed competitor’s hand during the celebration.

Tyler Bate def. Kenny Williams in an NXT UK Championship Tournament First-Round Match

With a chance to lock horns with Joe Coffey in the NXT UK Championship Tournament Semifinals on the line, Tyler Bate and Kenny Williams stormed out of the starting blocks in a nasty first-round encounter that had the NXT UK Universe on the edge of their seats.

When the fight spilled to ringside, Williams dodged his hard-charging foe and ruthlessly chucked him into the ringside barricade, nearly claiming a count-out victory.

The Scum of the Earth stayed aggressive by raining down some vicious right hands and dishing out a savage chop block to Bate’s knee.

Bate, however, fought through agonizing pain to disorient Williams with a seemingly never-ending airplane spin and tattooed him with Tyler Driver ‘97 to seal a date with The Iron King. And whomever emerges triumphant in that clash will take on the winner of Oliver Carter vs. Trent Seven for the right to hoist the NXT UK Championship.
