WWE Plans Changes To COVID-19 Testing With Move To Tropicana Field

December 10, 2020

WWE’s testing policy for COVID-19 has evolved since the pandemic started, including a change that had them testing everyone prior to tapings thanks to an outbreak that hit all three rosters. Their testing situation was all based out of Orlando, but an upcoming change will force that to be moved.

WWE starts out of their new location at Tropicana Field on Friday for Smackdown, and Ringside News has reported COVID-19 testing has now been “localized to St. Pete.”

The previous procedure had the Superstars taking their COVID-19 tests in Orlando and go back to their residence to remain quarantined until another test and the show. Many Superstars reside in or near Orlando which made that pretty convenient, but thanks to the move and the 90 minute drive between Orlando and St. Pete, the process will have to change.

Many staff and talent will now have to work out a new routine to abide by the protocol, which will continue with the move to Tropicana Field. The location of the testing will change, but they will still have to test negative before they can participate in the taping.
