WWE Releases Gabe Sapolsky

January 6, 2022

It looks like we can add another name to the list of WWE releases this week.

Gabe Sapolsky took to twitter earlier today seemingly announcing the end of his time with WWE. Sapolsky wrote:

“Looks like the end of the road. Thank you everyone. Love you All!”

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful later confirmed that WWE confirmed to him the release of Gabe Sapolsky from the company.

Sapolsky was hired by WWE back in 2018 where he served as a consultant up until his release earlier this week.

He got his start in wrestling back in the original days of ECW where he was the protege of Paul Heyman, working mainly in the company’s marketing and public relations department. Gabe was also a co-founder of Ring of Honor back in 2002, where he also served as the company’s booker. Sapolsky and ROH would eventually part ways, leading him to launch Dragon Gate USA in April 2009. Following the closure of DGUSA, in August of 2014 he would go on be the founder of EVOLVE, which would later be purchased by WWE.

WWE issued a statement on Wednesday regarding the latest round of releases from the company, most of which came from the NXT 2.0 brand.

“With the continued evolution of NXT 2.0, we’ve decided to part ways with some of the staff based in our Performance Center. We thank them for their many contributions throughout the years and wish them the best.”
