We are on the road to DYNASTY live on PPV April 21st, hailing from the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, MO, and we already know Bryan Danielson will go to battle with Will Ospreay in a dream match for the ages! We also know that the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament will culminate that night, and on COLLISION fans witnessed The Infantry score a huge upset over House of Black to move past the Wild Card round. This Wednesday night in Toronto, All Elite Wrestling returns to the Coca-Cola Coliseum and with that comes another red-hot edition of DYNAMITE! We’ve got Adam Copeland and Christian Cage in an “I Quit” match for the TNT Champion, the Continental Championship on the line with Kazuchika Okada challenging Eddie Kingston, HOOK and Chris Jericho going one-on-one, and AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm teaming with Mariah May to battle Thunder Rosa and Deonna Purrazzo!

TNT Championship I Quit Match…

Christian Cage(c) vs. Adam Copeland

https://www.youtube.com/embed/G3Ga4qjCgfM?si=bEYUbphrY2HcbzAs

Three minutes and thirty-two seconds; that is how long Adam Copeland could claim to be TNT Champion after beating Christian Cage at WORLDS END. Then Killswitch, having earned a guaranteed TNT Championship during the ZERO HOUR, struck down the new champion to try and capitalize on the situation. Sadly it was Christian who got to take advantage of it all, convincing Killswitch to bequeath his title shot to “The Patriarch”, and ending Copeland’s TNT Title reign just 212 seconds after it began.

Copeland had every reason to demand a rematch, despite Cage’s insistence that he go to the back of the line, but instead Adam began his “Cope Open” to earn another shot, and took on every person who stepped up to the plate. Griff Garrison, Lee Moriarty, Dante Martin, and the legendary Minoru Suzuki all put Copeland to the test in their own fashion, but Adam beat each one, leading to a confrontation with another man in pursuit of Cage’s title, Daniel Garcia. Like true sportsmen, Copeland and Garcia agree to meet in singles combat with the next TNT Championship match going to the winner, but like a true scumbag, Christian Cage and his Patriachy stuck their nose into the fight, causing a No Contest result, and allowing Cage to put Copeland on the shelf with a Con-chair-to.

But they left Garcia intact, and though he didn’t claim the TNT Championship at REVOLUTION 2024, it’s really only because Nick Wayne and the Patriarchy were there to make sure Christian Cage survived Greensboro as champion. Take them out of the equation, and the AEW faithful would’ve been calling Daniel Garcia the new TNT Champion. It would’ve been quite fascinating to see how Copeland would’ve responded to someone else being the one to knock Christian off the TNT mountaintop, but that’s not how the hand played out, instead Cage has to actually deal with the repercussions of his assault on Adam Copeland with the future of the TNT Championship hanging in the balance!

Furthermore, the future of the championship won’t be decided in a regular match, not after everything that’s taken place between these two men since Copeland first arrived in AEW, the TNT Championship will be contested in an “I Quit” match this Wednesday night in Toronto! This is just the second such bout in the history of All Elite Wrestling, the first taking place at FULL GEAR 2020 between Eddie Kingston and then-AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, and coincidentally that too was a fight between friends-turned-enemies. That is about where the similarities end, neither Moxley nor Kingston threatened violence with a nail-embedded 2×4 for one, and though their bond had history, it isn’t thirty-plus years deep.

That’s what makes this entire scenario so painful, yet so intriguing; the careers of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have played out before the world for the last twenty-five years, their lives have unfolded before the eyes of wrestling fans, their triumphs and tragedies have been public consumption, and a vast majority of it took place with them supporting one another. Even at the times they were on opposing sides, it wasn’t as ugly as situations have gotten here in AEW, it never seemed past the point of no return as it does now.

With AEW’s return to Toronto, one of these two competitors will be forced to say “I Quit” in front of the entire world. One man will have to capitulate to the others onslaught and give up their TNT Championship dream, but more than that, give up on the hope of reconciling differences with one another. Either Christian Cage or Adam Copeland will leave the Coca-Cola Coliseum as TNT Champion, that is certain, but what is uncertain is what the future of the relationship between these two men could possibly look like after the hell that’s been traversed over the last several months.

Continental Championship Match…

Eddie Kingston(c) vs. Kazuchika Okada

https://www.youtube.com/embed/0fxRuwgjok0?si=K0bITgzbf-0Pxukd&start=201

Five months ago, at NJPW’s RUMBLE ON 44th STREET event, Eddie Kingston and Kazuchika Okada stood inside the ring as allies, a tag team facing down the BULLET CLUB GOLD tandem of Jay White and Juice Robinson, though their ending came with “Switchblade” pinning “The Mad King”. Skip ahead to March 6, 2024 and Kingston confronting The Young Bucks in the middle of the ring as the two found a way to gloat about their loss to Sting and Darby Allin at REVOLUTION 2024 a few days prior. The two EVPs made a choice to assault the Continental Crown Champion, teaming up on Kingston after a low blow neutralized him for a moment, but it seemed that the arrival of Kazuchika Okada would bring an end to the attack.

Turned out it was all a ruse at Eddie’s expense, and Okada chose that moment to show the world that not only was he officially All Elite, but he was also now one of The Elite alongside Matthew and Nicholas Jackson! To say that choice by Okada was disappointing would be a gross understatement, but it certainly proved a successful alliance as this new unit managed to defeat Kingston, PAC, and Penta El Zero Miedo in Trios competition, with Okada pinning Eddie to secure the victory. Sure it took another low blow from Matthew to allow Okada to hit The Rainmaker lariat, but with the win secured, it set Okada up for an immediate shot at the AEW Continental Championship.

That title fight goes down this Wednesday night in Toronto, and it actually marks the first defense of the Continental Championship separate from the rest of Continental Crown, meaning it will be fought under Continental Rules, meaning absolutely no interference will be tolerated. Coincidentally, Kingston is also set to defend the ROH World Championship at ROH’s SUPERCARD OF HONOR 2024 event on April 5th, a match separate from the rest of the Crown as well.

This bout is also Kazuchika Okada’s first singles match as an official member of the AEW roster, though not his first in All Elite Wrestling; in fact he’s 0-2 in one-on-one matches over his limited AEW experience, meaning he may see this as the match to make a statement to the rest of the AEW locker room, as well as an opportunity to claim his first AEW championship in rapid fashion. After overcoming Bryan Danielson at REVOLUTION 2024, after getting “The American Dragon” to actually shake his hand and acknowledge respect for “The Mad King”, it seemed Eddie had found a way to channel his inner fury into a positive, controlled fashion, but this situation with Okada and The Young Bucks seems to have shaken that resolve.

The Kingston who got in The EVPs faces was not restrained, the man who fought in that Trios match was not as focused as he was in Greensboro; could that be his undoing this Wednesday night when the Continental Championship is at stake? Will we see Okada add another championship to his resume? Will it be Kingston who adds another victory to this impressive run of nine consecutive singles matches, a run that includes Claudio Castagnoli, ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta, Bryan Keith, and two over Bryan Danielson?

Singles Match…

FTW Champion HOOK vs. Chris Jericho

FTW Champion HOOK and Chris Jericho recently found themselves with a common foe in The Mogul Embassy; in HOOK’s case it was Brian Cage in pursuit of the FTW Championship and for Jericho it was putting himself in the middle of that situation. When the original AEW World Champion elected to help HOOK when The Gates of Agony attacked him, Jericho became another target for Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona, and they didn’t wait long to let him know. It was only a few days between the attack on HOOK and the one on Jericho, and just as “Lionheart” helped “The Cold-Hearted, Handsome Devil”, so too did HOOK assist Chris.

That led the two men to actually team up against The Gates of Agony; not only did they team up, the unlikely pair actually won the bout over Kaun & Toa, but that was not to be the end of their association, in fact Jericho himself made the challenge for this bout taking place on Wednesday night! Now one need only look at Jericho’s history in AEW for enough reason to question the man’s motivations for wanting this bout, but his desire to test HOOK does seem legitimate, not like a cover for ulterior motives.

Interestingly it was just over 28 years ago that Jericho fought HOOK’s father Taz for the first time, actually scoring a DQ victory over “The Human Suplex Machine” that night in Philadelphia, so it is rather wild that Jericho is now fighting HOOK almost three decades later. It’s a testament not only to the longevity of Jericho’s career and how he’s operated at the highest levels, but also his willingness to mix it up with the younger generations when he could very well use his status to avoid ever having to lose face should he lose a bout like this.

It’s almost as if Jericho wants to make sure the landscape of wrestling is in good hands when the time comes for him to step away from in-ring competition, and perhaps that’s why the fights with Atlantis Jr, Titan, and now HOOK. It’s going to be interesting to see how this one plays out, will it be Jericho’s experience that lead to victory or will we see the youth of HOOK lead him to the biggest victory of his career? The FTW Champion tested Samoa Joe like few others in AEW have, can he do the same to Jericho?

Tag Team Grudge Match…

AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm & Mariah May vs. Deonna Purrazzo & Thunder Rosa

At one point during their REVOLUTION 2024 championship match, “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo had “Timeless” Toni Storm dead to rights, tapping out to her Venus de Milo submission hold, but the official was not in position to make the call thanks to Mariah May. Still, the world saw the AEW Women’s World Champ giving up even if the referee did not, and though it may not mean Purrazzo stands as the World Champion at this moment, it certainly gives her a viable claim to a rematch, and every justification to refer to herself as the “uncrowned champion” if she so chose. It’s quite clear Toni Storm wants to avoid a championship rematch with Deonna at this juncture, but unfortunately for Storm, she can’t dodge the tag team match scheduled for this Wednesday evening, a match she agreed to without even knowing who Deonna’s partner would be!

Turns out there’s another woman with some unfinished Toni Storm business, though it may be more accurate to say it’s unfinished World Title business, and that is “La Mera Mera” Thunder Rosa! Unfortunately for Rosa, due to injury she had to vacate the AEW Women’s World Championship in September 2022, a vacancy that was filled by Toni Storm at ALL OUT 2022 when she beat Dr. Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida in a Four Way bout. It was the first of Storm’s three championship reigns, and though it lasted just 76 days before Hayter dethroned her, it fueled the fire (and possibly the personality break) that has led “Timeless” to where she is today. In the time Rosa missed, the landscape of the AEW Women’s Division shifted quite a bit and now she finds herself fighting for a shot at the title she never lost, and perhaps this tag team contest is a way to that end game. A victory over Storm could put Rosa into contention, after all she’s won six straight matches since her return to action, four of those in singles competition, and if she could pin Toni in this fight, well it would have to put her name into the running for the next title fight.

And that’s what makes this pairing of Thunder Rosa and Deonna Purrazzo quite interesting, they are two women with the goal of claiming the AEW Women’s World Championship from Toni Storm, but does that put them at cross-purposes as partners? Mariah May is obviously all in on supporting Toni and doing whatever she needs, can the same be said for “La Mera Mera” and “The Virtuosa”?

The CEO Comes to Ontario…

https://www.youtube.com/embed/tgaNUI5rGmM?si=FhGI7B3ZnY6YZF_J&start=367

Last week on DYNAMITE: BIG BUSINESS, Mercedes Moné made a huge impact with her arrival in All Elite Wrestling! It wasn’t just the words she spoke at the top of the program, but also her actions at the end of the night when Moné lent a helping hand to Willow Nightingale as TBS Champion Julia Hart and Skye Blue assaulted her. She dropped Skye Blue, planted Julia Hart, and actually shared a moment of respect with Willow Nightingale despite the fact Willow beat her to become the first NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion last year.

Now we will hear from “The CEO of AEW” this Wednesday night live on DYNAMITE, and you know the ears and ears of Julia Hart and Skye Blue, as well as the rest of the AEW Women’s locker room, are going to be fixed on what Mercedes Moné has to say!

But that’s not all…

That’s right; immediately following the conclusion of DYNAMITE, we will roll right into RAMPAGE on TBS, for three straight hours of the greatest professional wrestling on the planet! The second Wild Card Match in the AEW World Tag Title Tournament is set to go down pitting The Don Callis Family against Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta, and it’s Street Fight time when Willow and Kris Statlander meet the TBS Champion and Skye Blue! Those two tremendous bouts, and a whole lot more, are coming to the AEW faithful immediately after the conclusion of DYNAMITE, making for one huge night of professional wrestling in Toronto!

AEW World Tag Team Title Tournament Wild Card Match…

The Don Callis Family (ROH World TV Champion Kyle Fletcher & Powerhouse Hobbs)

vs.

Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta

***WINNER FACES TAVEN/BENNETT IN QUARTER-FINALS***

https://www.youtube.com/embed/p1e0m2uJ_MI?si=71hfGFOxLZNQHxQu&start=201

Last Saturday night on COLLISION, fans witnessed a tremendous upset when The Infantry defeated House of Black in the first Wild Card match, albeit with a little help from a revenge-seeking Mark Briscoe, meaning Capt. Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo move on to face FTR in the Quarter-Finals.

This Wednesday night during RAMPAGE the second Wild Card contest will take place when The Don Callis Family, represented by Powerhouse Hobbs and ROH World TV Champion Kyle Fletcher, take on former 2-Time AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta! As odd as it may be, especially with the OC/Trent pairing, neither of these teams are particularly experienced as a duo. The Callis crew have only teamed up once other time at RAMPAGE: WINTER IS COMING 2023, while the Cassidy/Beretta team only have 3 AEW matches and 1 ROH match under their belts this year, though to be fair OC and Trent have a wealth of experience working together in multi-man matches over the history of AEW.

The winner of this contest moves on to face ROH World Tag Team Champions Matt Taven and Mike Bennett in the Quarter-Final round, and it’s quite difficult to pick a winner in this tag team affair. The power and precision of The Don Callis Family team versus the top tier all-around game of the OC/Trent pair; it’s quite the pick’em for the Wild Card round!

Street Fight…

TBS Champion Julia Hart & Skye Blue vs. Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale

As mentioned already, Willow Nightingale was the victim of an assault by TBS Champion Julia Hart and Skye Blue following her victory over Riho last Wednesday night. It was only the efforts of Mercedes Moné that saved the former NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion from serious injury, but it certainly left a question of where Kris Statlander was to help out her friend.

We would find out after the fact that the former TBS Champion was assaulted backstage, preventing her from assisting Nightingale, but on this Wednesday’s special edition of RAMPAGE it’s time for Julia Hart and Skye Blue to pay the piper in the form of a Street Fight! Willow and Statlander have already proven successful in that field, defeating Diamante and Mercedes Martinez last December under that stipulation, and now they’re prepared to bring the fight to the TBS Champion and her ally! This has been raging in one form or another since Julia Hart claimed the TBS Championship for herself at FULL GEAR 2023, will this be the night the scores are finally settled?

The official announcement of an AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament! The arrival of “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada as both an official member of All Elite Wrestling and as the newest addition to The Elite! Ospreay versus Fletcher! And that’s just a sampling of what DYNAMITE brought to the AEW faithful this past Wednesday night at the Gas South Arena! With a new set design and a new season underway, All Elite Wrestling moved forward into the post-Sting era in explosive fashion, and it continues this Friday night on TNT with RAMPAGE!

Before the action starts, drop by the official AEW YouTube channel, as well as AEW’s assorted social media sites, to catch up on highlights from this week’s DYNAMITE, as well as previous episodes of RAMPAGE, COLLISION, the latest CONTROL CENTER, and let’s not forget REVOLUTION 2024! Then be sure to join AEW next Wednesday night for DYNAMITE: BIG BUSINESS coming your way from the TD Garden in Boston, an event already shaping up to be one of the most unforgettable in AEW’s television history!

TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT WARM-UP…

Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta vs. Kip Sabian & The Butcher

We know there’s a tournament coming up this month to fill the AEW World Tag Team Championship vacancy created by Sting’s retirement and Darby Allin’s unwillingness to continue on without “The Icon” as his partner, and while the locker room awaits the bracketing, teams are already throwing their names in the hat.

As we heard on Wednesday night in the interview embedded above, Chuck Taylor still isn’t cleared for action, meaning The Best Friends will have to continue never having held a championship together, but that doesn’t mean Trent Beretta and Orange Cassidy can’t give the tournament a try as a team! With that in mind, the former 2-Time International Champion will tag up with Beretta this Friday night on RAMPAGE to do battle with some familiar foes making their first appearance as a tandem.

Kip Sabian and The Butcher have been united for quite some time, competing in Trios matches with The Blade, and just generally supporting each other’s careers, but this Friday will mark the first time the two have fought as a tag team! Best Friends have had their far share of interaction with Butcher & Blade over the last four years, while Cassidy defended the International Championship against both Kip Sabian and The Butcher over the course of his two title runs. In short, all four of these men know each other quite well, which should make for quite the intriguing match-up as both duos hope to earn their way into the World Tag Title Tournament when the brackets are set!

TBS CHAMPIONSHIP OPEN CHALLENGE…

Julia Hart(c) vs. Robyn Renegade

After losing in tag team action during the REVOLUTION 2024: ZERO HOUR, TBS Champion Julia Hart is hearing challenges coming her way from Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander, and though Stat’s loss to Riho on Wednesday night may not have done her any favors in getting the rematch she’s thus far been denied, Willow remains in the hunt with a fight of her own against Riho set for DYNAMITE: BIG BUSINESS.

In response to the challenges laid before her, Julia Hart put out an Open Challenge of her own with the intention to remind the other women in All Elite Wrestling just who is holding the TBS Championship. Situations like this are the perfect opportunity for the unlikeliest of challengers to step up and try to shock the world, and that is exactly what we have this Friday night with Robyn Renegade stepping up to plate! Renegade is no stranger to a TBS Title Open Challenge, she actually answered the call when Kris Statlander did the same on the 9/9/23 edition of COLLISION, though obviously coming up short in that challenge.

Still, that’s the sort of thing that can either bolster a competitor’s hunger or discourage them from continuing the fight, and clearly Robyn Renegade has chosen the former! Can she upset the TBS Champion and throw a massive monkey wrench into the works, or will Renegade end up as an example to Willow, Statlander, and any other woman with designs on Julia Hart’s TBS Championship?

THREE WAY TAG BATTLE…

Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) vs. Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) vs. “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith & Komander

As is the case with the other tag team battle taking place on RAMPAGE, this Three Way fight is absolutely an opportunity for all six men to make a statement as to why they should be included in the brackets. Ever since Private Party returned to tag team competition, they’ve looked better than ever, but have made enemies out of Top Flight over the course of their two outings this year.

As for Bryan Kieth and Komander, this will mark just their second outing as a tag team, the first taking place two months ago when the met ROH World Tag Team Champions The Kingdom in a Proving Ground match to try and earn a title opportunity but came up short. Now they are looking for another path to greatness, perhaps through a bid in that impending World Tag Title Tournament, and a victory here over two well-established teams could get the eyes on them required for consideration.

If the tensions between Private Party and Top Flight get in the way, then Bryan Keith and Komander could find themselves with an upset victory Friday night, but even that is going to come with a fight, because best believe all three duos are bringing their A-game as the tag teams in AEW jockey for position!

ALSO FEATURING…

Action Andretti vs. Penta El Zero Miedo

After clashing in a Three Way tag team bout two weeks ago on RAMPAGE, this Friday night will see Action Andretti and Penta El Zero Miedo go one-on-one for the very first time! In their two televised matches, Action’s team holds one victory and Penta’s holds one, but this being the first time they’ve ventured into the realm of singles competition, it is anyone’s ball game. Penta clearly has more experience that Andretti, but Action has proven himself capable of shocking the world in the past (just ask Chris Jericho) so don’t count him out either.

Which of these two amazing athletes will get their hand raised on RAMPAGE? Tune in Friday night to TNT to find out!!

RAMPAGE comes your way from the Gas South Arena in Duluth, GA and it is loaded with action! TBS Champion Julia Hart laid out an Open Challenge on Wednesday night, and it looks like Robyn Renegade has stepped up to answer, plus Orange Cassidy will be in tag team action alongside Trent Beretta as the two take on Kip Sabian and The Butcher! In addition, we will see Top Flight, Private Party, and the Bryan Keith/Komander tandem collide in a Three Way tag, as well as Penta El Zero Miedo battling Action Andretti! That gets underway at 10pm ET/9pm CT so prior to bell time, swing on by the official AEW YouTube channel, as well as AEW’s various social media platforms, to catch up on highlights from Wednesday’s DYNAMITE, as well as previous episodes of RAMPAGE, COLLISION, the latest CONTROL CENTER, and of course REVOLUTION 2024!

COLLISION returns to the airwaves this Saturday night with a collection of tremendous match-ups as we near the end of the road to REVOLUTION 2024! This week, the Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield, MO hosts AEW’s Saturday night fights, and is going to be unforgettable, particularly when “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson steps into the ring with the legendary Jun Akiyama for their very first singles match! They’ve dance a handful of times in tag and trios in their Pro Wrestling NOAH days, but for the first time it’s one-on-one, and the eyes of Continental Crown Champion Eddie Kingston will no doubt be on this fight! Plus, coming off a heated time limit draw with The BCC on Wednesday, FTR gets right back in the saddle with a tag team fight against Shane Taylor Promotions, and we will see both Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb in action as each tries to climb back to the top of the mountain!

The night starts at 8pm ET/7pm CT on TNT, and the AEW faithful can get prepared for the action-packed evening by visiting the official AEW YouTube channel, as well as AEW’s other social media platforms, for highlights from this week’s DYNAMITE and RAMPAGE, as well as the latest CONTROL CENTER, and so much more!

ONE-ON-ONE…

“The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. Jun Akiyama

Four times over the course of his career “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson has stood across the ring from Jun Akiyama, a man many refer to as the 5th Pillar of Heaven, placing him alongside Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi, Akira Taue, and Toshiaki Kawada in the grand tapestry of All Japan Pro Wrestling. All four of their meetings came together under the Pro Wrestling NOAH banner, but not a one saw the two combatants square off in a head-to-head match-up. The first, taking place on 11/29/06 during Danielson’s ROH World Championship reign, saw Bryan team up with the late, great Bison Smith to actually defeat Akiyama and Makoto Hashi, but their next two meetings would not follow suit.

4/23/07, as part of Bryan’s month long tour of NOAH, they would lock up again, this time in Trios competition, with Bison again siding with Bryan, and the pair joined by Joe Legend. This time out Akiyama had former GHC Heavyweight Champion Takeshi Rikio and junior heavyweight legend Yoshinobu Kanemaru at his side, and this time around it was Akiyama’s unit that picked up the win. They traded another victory on April 4, 2008 when Bryan returned to NOAH, this time alongside the team of D’Lo Brown and Buchanan, collectively known as RO&D, to defeat Akiyama, the late Atsushi Aoki, and once again, Takeshi Rikio.

The final encounter between these two men took place a month later, May 17th at Differ Ariake, this time with Bryan and Bison being joined by Akitoshi Saito, to defeated Jun Akiyama and the same partners as the April fight. So when it comes to the numbers of their history, somewhat surprisingly it is Bryan Danielson who holds the 3-1 advantage, but that’s without a singles encounter. This Saturday night on COLLISION that changes because Jun Akiyama is coming back to All Elite Wrestling to fight “The American Dragon” one-on-one!

Bryan has already had a strenuous 2024 in terms of his in-ring activities; he began the year by losing to Kazuchika Okada at WRESTLE KINGDOM 18, followed by an 8-Man loss to TMDK at NEW YEARS DASH!! 2024 before he returned to the United States. Since coming back to AEW, Bryan has been on a tear, scoring a tag team victory over Continental Champion Eddie Kingston and Ortiz, singles wins over Yuji Nagata and Hechicero, and a trios victory over the CMLL contingent. A speed bump came upon Bryan’s return to NJPW for THE NEW BEGINNING IN OSAKA 2024 when he fell to Zack Sabre Jr., but now he’s back home for the final leg leading to REVOLUTION 2024 where he will challenge Eddie Kingston for the Continental Crown.

Now there are already many ties that bind Kingston and Danielson, but Saturday will add one more as it was back in November 2021 that Eddie Kingston and Ortiz first welcomed Jun Akiyama to AEW. Akiyama won that tag team bout, but would fall to “The Mad King” in a singles bout at FULL GEAR 2021: ZERO HOUR the next night. The respect built between those two nights actually led Akiyama to bring Kingston to DDT Pro Wrestling, as his partner, for the March 2023 DDT GOES HOLLYWOOD! event in Los Angeles. What began as a relationship of Kingston looking up to Akiyama as an idol developed into that of one as peers, one whose respect is built upon the fight, and perhaps that is why Danielson chose to take this match so close to his International Championship challenge against Kingston.

Perhaps Bryan took this to spit in the face of someone Kingston respects, to use Jun Akiyama to send Eddie a message, perhaps even an opportunity for Bryan to show the current KO-D Six Man Champion the complete lack of respect he also shows Eddie Kingston. Bryan’s insistence that this is his last full-time year as an in-ring competitor has led to some fantastic matches, with certainly more to come, but it is also beginning to feel like it is Danielson’s way to bolster his ego, and prove beyond any doubt that “The American Draagon” is the best wrestler in the world whether he’s active or not. It feels like an ego trip concealed as a farewell tour, but Jun Akiyama is not the man to use for such purposes.

Not only does he hold that aforementioned KO-D championship, but he’s also a former 2-Time Triple Crown Champion, 3-Time GHC Heavyweight Champion, 7-Time AJPW World Tag Champion, and 4-Time All Asia Tag Team Champion, just to name a few. He’s wrestled, and beaten, legends like Stan Hansen, Misawa, Kobashi, Taue, as well as today’s greats in DDT Pro like Takeshita, MAO, and Rukiya. Akiyama is one of the last of his generation still competing, with only a few others like Satoshi Kojima and Yuji Nagata springing to mind as Akiyama’s contemporaries still fighting at the highest levels.

All this is to say that Danielson should not approach Akiyama with the same disrespect he shows Eddie Kingston, or perhaps that’s the game Bryan is playing, showing respect to everyone he fights except the Continental Crown Champion. However this fight with Akiyama plays out, Danielson is going to feel it, and for his sake, he best hope it doesn’t compromise him for that championship fight at REVOLUTION 2024.

TAG TEAM THROWDOWN…

FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Shane Taylor Promotions (Lee Moriarty & Shane Taylor)

Coming off a tremendous 20-minute draw with Moxley and Claudio on DYNAMITE, FTR are jumping right back into action this Saturday night with a fight against opponents not all that different from The BCC duo. Shane Taylor is a hard-hitting, smashmouth fighter from Ohio who has no problem calling it as he sees it, and letting the world know how he feels. Lee Moriarty is a supremely skilled grappler, capable of tying a man up in knots inside the squared circle, but has proven to be just at home throwing elbows as he is chaining together holds. Together, STP has a mission of ascending to the AEW and ROH mountain tops, and they’ve actively put out the call for others to join in their quest:

Well this Saturday night, when faced with the 2-Time former AEW World Tag Champions, the men who held AAA, ROH, and IWGP Tag Gold simultaneously for six months, Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty will have their chance to rumble with the best, and show the rest of the locker room why they are the team to ride with. After that unsatisfying result on DYNAMITE, and the potential for a rematch down the line, FTR is going to bring the fight to STP but best believe that STP will return it in kind. This is going to be a slugfest, of that there is little doubt, the only question is if what Dax and Cash went through on Wednesday has left them ripe for the picking or queued them up for more violence?

TRIOS MASH-UP…

The Bang Bang Scissor Gang (Colten Gunn, Daddy Ass, & Jay White) In Action!!!

Last week on RAMPAGE we witnessed The Bang Bang Scissor Gang compete in full force for the very first time, and they showed The Dark Order, Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, and Satnam Singh just what they are capable of when operating in the same page. After everything that’s gone down between The Gunns and their father, as well as The Gunns and The Acclaimed, it had to have been simultaneously strange and exhilarating to be working together, but magic was made, of that there is no question.

But this week on COLLISION, with the cowboys coming back to town, they’ve decided to do it Trios style once more, but rather coming in as one of the units they’ve become accustomed to, or even simply put The Gunn Club back together for the night, “Switchblade” Jay White has mashed it all up to put himself, Colten Gunn, and Daddy Ass together for some Trios competition! Will this blending of ROH World Six-Man and AEW World Trios Champions be as successful as all six fighting together? With fewer individuals in the mix to distract, will Billy and Colten Gunn be able to remain cohesive given their complicated history in AEW? And just who will step into the ring with these champions to try and upset The BBSG?

ONE-ON-ONE…

Malakai Black vs. “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith

It has been more than 610 days since Malakai Black competed in a one-on-one match in All Elite Wrestling, and 608 days since the last time he fought in a match that wasn’t some sort of tag, trio, or multi-man contest. Mind you, that focus on multi-man competition paid off, up until a week ago The House of Black were the longest reigning AEW World Trios Champions since the titles incarnation, and collectively they remain one of, if not the, most imposing units in All Elite Wrestling. The House may have lost the Escape the Cage match against FTR and Daniel Garcia, but it isn’t because Malakai Black tasted true defeat, in fact in the realm of singles competition only one man has put Black’s shoulders to the mat since his Summer 2021 debut, and that was back on October 23rd of that year.

Suffice it to say “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith, a man who only officially became All Elite three weeks ago, has his work cut out for him on COLLISION this Saturday night. Though he is coming into this fight off a RAMPAGE victory, that was in Trios competition and prior to that win, in his limited AEW experience, Keith had yet to score any victories, let alone in the singles ranks.

Will this be the night “Bounty Hunter” shocks the world and puts down the master of The House? Or will this night serve as Malakai Black’s herald, declaring to the world that he is stepping back into the singles ranks with the cruelest of intentions?

NO DQ, DON CALLIS FAMILY & CHRIS JERICHO BANNED FROM THE BUILDING, THERE MUST BE A WINNER!!!

Sammy Guevara vs. Powerhouse Hobbs

https://www.youtube.com/embed/CABuVbJQZ1U?si=BiU-YQYqj201tOEJ

Last night on RAMPAGE, Sammy Guevara called out Powerhouse Hobbs for a fight in response to being put through tables by the former TNT Champion. Unfortunately for “The Spanish God” the challenge did not go in his favor, as a devastating lariat, two spinebusters, and a World’s Most Dangerous Slam left Guevara a broken man at the feet of Hobbs and Don Callis. Yet he persists, despite the odds, despite the physical advantages Powerhouse Hobbs holds over Sammy, the young man persists in the fight. That should come as no surprise, after all this is the man who dethroned “The Redeemer” Miro to win the first of his three TNT Championship titles, Sammy clearly does not back down from a fight.

And a fight is what he will have this Saturday night on COLLISION when he faces Hobbs one-on-one, for the very first time, and in a No DQ match to boot! While this sounds like a situation just inviting the interference of the Don Callis Family, in an effort to level the playing field the entire Callis crew has been banned from the building, but so has Guevara’s main ally, Chris Jericho!

Will that ruling be enough for Sammy to knock down the mountain that is Powerhouse Hobbs? This No DQ situation may seem like the perfect playground for Guevara, especially looking at that fight with Jeff Hardy as a litmus test, but so too is it the perfect opportunity for Hobbs to become an untethered engine of destruction. This may be a situation of mutually assured destruction…

RETURNING TO FORM…

Serena Deeb vs. Kiera Hogan

https://www.youtube.com/embed/G9Ubybrd6jw?si=1pvxKMTSAmkowIhp

Thunder Rosa In Action!

https://www.youtube.com/embed/XUO5Nf0khyk?si=CNcX9lYcatBSHeGY

Both Serena Deeb and former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa are on a mission, a mission to return to the top of the Women’s Division and claim (or reclaim in Thunder’s case) championship success. Both lost over a year of their careers fighting to get back into the ring, and both were able to return to the ring within a month of each other. For Rosa that moment came at the tail end of 2023 when COLLISION came to San Antonio right before Christmas while for Deeb it came in Bossier City, LA a month later, also on COLLISION, and for each it was cathartic. Imagine sitting on the sidelines for over year, watching others else be able to do the thing you love to do, while you are stuck struggling to be able to rejoin the fight.

Whether it’s professional wrestling, music, reading, writing, whatever; each of us has something we love to do so imagine if suddenly you weren’t able to do that thing, and even after you felt you could do that thing, you still weren’t allowed to do that thing. That is the space where both Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb have lived for far too long, but that longing to return to the ring has made each moment spent in it since their returns that much sweeter. This Saturday  night on COLLISION the joy of competing continues for each woman as they step back between the ropes, fully cognizant that not too long ago it seemed an impossibility, and they get ready to fight whoever is standing on the opposite side.

After almost losing these moments for good, each woman knows these are now ones to be cherished, but the sweetest moment, the one that makes the year-plus struggles worth it, will be the one when a championship belt is handed over and lofted high overhead in celebration. Who will get there first, and will their paths cross once more on the road to their shared goal?

We are just eight days away from REVOLUTION 2024 where “The Icon” Sting will have his final professional wrestling match, and COLLISION returns on Saturday night, emanating from the Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield, MO with a loaded night of action! With a Continental Crown match-up on his future, “The American Dragon” welcomes Jun Akiyama back to All Elite Wrestling, The Bang Bang Scissor Gang mashes things up for Trios action, Serena Deeb and Thunder Rosa continue their efforts to climb back up the rankings, and Malakai Black returns to singles action for a fight with “Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith!

All that, as well as FTR taking on Shane Taylor Promotions in a tag team fight, comes your way at 8pm ET/7pm CT on TNT, and the AEW faithful can get prepared for the action-packed evening by visiting the official AEW YouTube channel, as well as AEW’s other social media platforms, for highlights from this week’s DYNAMITE and RAMPAGE, as well as the latest CONTROL CENTER, and so much more!

CONTAINS SPOILERS

Tonight’s episode of AEW DYNAMITE was broadcast live from the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK!

Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and “The Human Suplex Machine” Taz were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!

Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli & Jon Moxley

vs.

FTR—Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood!

Cash grabbed a single leg on Mox, and Mox returned with a forearm. Mox tagged out to Claudio and Claudio blasted Cash with European uppercuts. Cash swept out Claudio’s leg and tagged out to Dax. Claudio booted Dax in the midsection and then body slammed Dax.

Dax retaliated with a snap suplex on Moxley. Dax hit a leg drop across the bridge of Moxley’s nose, good for a two count. Cash tagged in and Mox went for a rear naked choke, but Cash lowered his hips, using Mox’s momentum to knock him out of the ring. Mox was infuriated and jumped right back in the ring, bowing right up to Cash head-to-head. They exchanged forearms in the center of the ring.

Dax headbutted Mox outside of the ring, but Claudio ambushed Dax with a European uppercut. Moxley flew out of the ring with a tope directed at Cash, but Dax shoved his partner out of the way, acting as a human shield, and Dax took the brunt of Moxley’s force. After Moxley landed, Cash shoved him into the steel ring steps. FTR pummeled Moxley in their corner with an onslaught of strikes.

FTR catapulted Moxley into the bottom rope, throat first. Moxley blasted Dax with a King Kong lariat and then tagged Claudio. Claudio smothered Dax with European uppercuts. Claudio managed to hoist up both members of FTR at the same time and planted them!

“Claudio with superhuman strength!” said Excalibur.

Outside the ring, Moxley spiked Dax on the arena floor with a stuffed piledriver when Claudio jumped off the apron with an assist! Back in the ring, Dax displayed his fighting spirit, dodging Claudio and tagged out to Cash Wheeler. Cash cleaned house on the BCC!

Cash countered a Paradigm Shift from Mox with a brain buster for a near fall. Justin Roberts announced that five minutes remained. Cash hoisted up Moxley and then Dax jumped off the top rope with a leg drop for a near fall on Moxley.

“That was super close there,” said Taz.

Dax superplexed Moxley while Cash went for a splash off the top rope, but Moxley countered by raising his knees into Cash’s ribs. With three minutes remaining, Claudio whipped Dax around the ring with the Giant Swing! Moxley dropkicked Dax in the head and covered him, but Dax kicked out at the two-count!

Moxley battered Dax with the hammer and anvil elbows and then applied a rear naked choke. Cash crawled back into the ring to try to break up the bulldog choke, but Claudio grabbed Cash and applied a rear naked choke on Cash. There were two minutes remaining.

“Dueling submissions,” said Taz.

Cash powered himself and Claudio up, getting to his feet, and then fell backwards on top of Moxley.

“Cash, out of sheer desperation, dropping his body weight and Claudio’s onto the pile to force Moxley to break his grip,” said Excalibur.

“Now that’s what you call multitasking. Good job by Cash,” replied Taz.

The fans chanted “This is awesome! This is awesome!”

Dax took Moxley off his feet and applied the sharpshooter. Claudio tried to boot Dax in the head, but Cash ran interference and German suplexed Claudio. Justin Roberts announced there was one minute remaining.

Claudio wrapped up Cash in a sharpshooter, turned around and began to trade strikes with Dax, who had Moxley in a sharpshooter! Claudio and Dax relinquished their holds and began exchanging shots in the center of the ring! Dax spiked Claudio with a piledriver! Mox was there to cradle Dax with a crucifix, but Dax kicked out at two! Moxley went back to a rear naked choke on Dax, but Dax escaped. As Mox was looking for the King Kong lariat, FTR tried to counter with the Shatter Machine! As Cash lifted up Mox for his portion of the tandem finishing maneuver, time ran out and the bell rang!

The time limit expired, and the bout was declared a draw by Justin Roberts.

“I think if they had 10 more seconds, I think FTR lands that Shatter Machine and maybe wins the match,” said Excalibur.

“I agree, they were in the midst of a Shatter Machine, and the bell sounded, which stopped it,” replied Tony Schiavone.

Both teams began to brawl until security and wrestlers from the locker room sprinted out to separate them!

Renee Paquette was backstage to interview AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy!

Renee wondered how Orange was doing after all of his matches these past few weeks, and if he was medically cleared to wrestle. Orange replied, “Well, that’s why Doc Sampson is standing here in the hallway. He’s going to let me know.” Doc Sampson said that Orange was cleared, barely, to compete.

Orange: “If I’m cleared, I’m gonna wrestle.”

Orange said he was taking Trent’s place tonight.

Alex Marvez was backstage to interview FTR!

Dax: “We came here to kick BCC’s ass, because they think they run this place. We don’t bow down to nobody. Revolution is coming up, we don’t have a match, they don’t have a match so what I say is—”

The Blackpool Combat Club interrupted the interview, and both teams were separated by AEW security and officials once again!

AEW International Champion “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy vs. ROH World Tag Champion Mike Bennett!

Orange charged at the Undisputed Kingdom as they were making their entrance and clobbered Taven with an Orange Punch! Cassidy stomped on Bennett in the corner. The ref pulled Orange back and Bennett seized the opportunity to hit Orange with a suplex.

Orange rallied back with a Stun Dog Millionaire and then he landed a DDT on Bennett. Roderick Strong ran down to the ring and jumped on the apron. The ref had to keep Roderick back and prevent him from entering the ring. As the ref was dealing with Roddy, Mike Bennett nailed Orange with a blatant low blow!

Bennett rocked Orange with a piledriver for a near fall. Bennett got overconfident and grabbed Tony Schiavone’s headset and began to insult Orange over the headset. When Bennett put the headset down on the announcers’ desk, Orange flew out of the ring with a tope!

“Bennett took his eyes off his opponent for a moment and paid the price,” said Excalibur.

Bennett fired back with a Death Valley Driver on Orange on the arena floor! Somehow Orange managed to clock Bennett with an Orange Punch!

“This guy is a machine!” said Taz.

Mike Bennett regained momentum with a Gotch style piledriver on Cassidy. Bennett hit two rolling elbow strikes on Orange. Bennett was looking for another piledriver, but Orange countered with the Beach Break out of nowhere and pinned Bennett!

Matt Taven jumped in the ring after the match and stomped Orange. Roderick Strong returned and was about to double team Orange when Jake Hager ran down to the ring! Hager cleaned house of the Undisputed Kingdom, coming to the aid of Orange Cassidy!

Tony Khan informed Excalibur over the headset that this Friday on Rampage it’ll be Roderick Strong versus Jake Hager!

Renee Paquette was backstage to interview Angelo Parker about his big date out tonight with Ruby Soho!

Ruby walked up to them smiling and told Renee she’d tell her all about it Friday night. Angelo offered his arm to Ruby and asked if she was ready to go. A white SUV pulled up and Ruby asked if that was their ride. Angelo said, “No, we’ve got a Lyft.” They walked away and “Nature Boy” Ric Flair exited the SUV!

Renee Paquette interviewed “Nature Boy” Ric Flair about Sting’s upcoming retirement match at Revolution!

Flair: “I’m disappointed. When I signed up for this, I thought I’d be a bigger part of the picture. I’m not upset with Sting, I’m just upset that I’m not more involved. I feel like I should be right in the middle of things, and I haven’t been. So, between you and me, I’m just going to explore some options. I’m not trying to put you in the middle, I’m just telling you the truth.”

Ric Flair walked away and knocked on a nearby dressing room door. The Young Bucks opened the door. Matthew Jackson asked Ric what he wanted. Ric asked if they had time. “Let’s talk,” replied Matthew, inviting Flair in.

Tony Schiavone was in the ring to interview Daniel Garcia!

Tony said that after what happened to the “Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland last week, Copeland is on the shelf and unable to compete. Tony said that at AEW Revolution, Daniel Garcia will get his shot at the TNT Championship against Christian Cage!

The fans chanted “You deserve it! You deserve it!”

Garcia: “A lot of the time I feel like I don’t deserve it, so thank you for saying that. I always felt like in this business I was destined for great things, but a couple months ago when I was at the lowest point of my life, I started to lose that confidence. I started to lose that feeling, I really did. But I knew that going through all that, three seconds is all I needed. And at the end of the Continental Classic, I got those three seconds. Those three seconds changed my life.

“Every single time I got down, y’all picked me back up. Every time I danced, y’all danced with me. And I can’t thank you enough for helping me restore that feeling. And Adam Copeland, no one knows how that match would have ended last week, but I have full confidence that if that match went on any longer, I would have made you tap out.

“It’s not over between you and me. But the next time you see me I will be holding the TNT title! And that brings me to Revolution. Christian Cage, I have a message for you. When you step in the ring with me, I am going to take you down—”

TNT Champion Christian Cage walked onto the ramp with the Patriarchy—Nick Wayne, Killswitch, and Mother Wayne!

Christian Cage: “Adam Copeland will not have another chance at my TNT Championship ever! Do you understand me? Daniel, what happened to you last week was just a by-product of you standing in the ring with Adam Copeland, but it worked out pretty well for you because now you’re the number one contender for my TNT Championship at Revolution.

“You’ve been on a hell of a run lately, but I have to say, as much as I’d love to step in the ring with you, I really don’t think it should happen at Revolution. And it’s not that I don’t think you’re worthy, it’s that I don’t think you’re ready. You just want to make these people smile and be entertained with your dance moves. I just want to leave the arena every night as the most dominant TNT Champion of all time.

“We both know why you’re the way you are, don’t we Daniel. I know something that these people don’t know. That you had a pretty dark childhood, didn’t you, Daniel? You didn’t have so many happy memories, did you? Do you know a Jackie Garcia that lives in Buffalo, NY? And can you confirm to me that Jackie was married to David Garcia And I understand that David Garcia is your father. And your father is dead.

“Now wouldn’t it be a beautiful fairy tale ending for you to walk into Revolution with my TNT Championship, raise it above your head in memory of your late, great father, but let’s be honest, your father wasn’t so great, was he? He was a loser that lost his life to the bottle. And unlike him, I don’t want to hurt you, I want to help you. At Revolution, I don’t want to be your opponent, I want to be your father.”

Garcia: “Since you know so much about my dead father, why don’t you come to the ring, and I’ll put you in the ground right next to him!”

Christian Cage sent Nick Wayne to do his dirty work! Nick Wayne charged right at Garcia! Daniel Garcia side stepped Wayne and put him in the sharpshooter! Killswitch came down to the ring next! “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard, out of nowhere, smacked Killswitch in the back with a steel chair!

“This backfired on Christian Cage,” said Taz.

AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm (with Mariah May & Luther)

vs. Sydni Winnell!

Toni stormed Sydni and stomped her in the corner. Toni grounded and pounded Sydni. Toni splashed Sydni and then clobbered her with a running bulldog. Toni hit the hip attack and then planted Sydni with the Storm Zero! Toni locked in the Break a Leg submission and then released it. Toni opted instead for the Venus De Milo and won via submission!

“The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo vs. Madison Rayne!

Deonna took down Rayne with a snap mare. Deonna wiped out Rayne with a pump kick. Deonna smashed Madison with a knee strike to the face. Madison rolled up Deonna, but Deonna kicked out at the one-count. Deonna applied Toni Storm’s Break a Leg and forced Madison to tap out, sending a message to the AEW Women’s World Champion! After the match Toni ran into the ring and tried to whack Deonna with a shoe! Deonna ducked it and countered with a pump kick! Deonna swung at Mariah May but Mariah May backed up. Toni grabbed Deonna from behind and locked in the Break a Leg on Deonna!

AEW World Tag Team Champions had an important message for the Young Bucks—Mathew and Nicholas Jackson!

Darby: “When you’re this close to the end, you look back at life and it really puts things in perspective. The fame, the spotlight, the material things that we chase that don’t mean a thing. We were looking at some old photos today. Sting, is it okay if we show them to the Young Bucks?”

Sting: “Yeah.”

Darby showed a picture of Sting with Sting’s sons when they were children. Darby said when the photo was taken, Sting’s sons were about the same age as the Bucks’ kids are now. “This is this man’s flesh and blood. This is the only thing in life that matters in the end. It’s family,” said Darby.

Sting: “You hit the nail on the head, Darby. Family is all that matters. It strikes a nerve right now because in all my years as a pro wrestler, no one has ever messed with my own flesh and blood until you, Bucks. Lots going on in my own personal life in the last couple of weeks. The Bucks attacked my sons, and only seven days ago, my own father passed away. He was like a hero to me. He taught me right. Makes me think a lot about my own mortality. I used to think I was so invincible. Sometimes I do feel that way still, but time catches up to everyone, and it caught me for sure. I know I am truly not invincible. But one thing I do know. Everything I have left in me, I’m bringing to Revolution. You have a fight on your hands, Bucks, the fight of your life.”

Tony Schiavone interviewed Wardlow in the ring!

Wardlow: “Get out of my ring before I knock you down again! I’m pissed! I’ve been pissed off for a long time! Two years ago, I had thousands and thousands of people chanting my name, city after city in a manner that hasn’t been heard or seen in decades. I was the next big thing, but apparently the rocket that was strapped to my back was put upside down, because ever since, I have been driven into the ground and screwed over and over again.

“You would think the one true homegrown day one original AEW megastar would have been the champion a long time ago. But I’ve never received an opportunity for the AEW World title and people back there need to be fired and thrown in jail for that fact.

“But let’s look at some of the people who have held it. There’s kings, there’s gods, so what does that make me? Because the best in the world, the real heavyweight champion? I beat his ass like nobody has in his entire career. His body is still falling apart from me. Which brings me to our former champ, the guy who’s better than us and we know it. I squashed him like an insect. Which brings me to the most dangerous man in the room. Our king, the current champ, Samoa Joe. Can somebody remind me when he and I were in the ring? Oh yeah, that’s right, I choked his ass out and I beat him too!

“So again, I ask, what does that make me? Because it sounds like I’m the best in the world. It sounds like I’m better than you and you know it. It sounds like I’m the most dangerous man in the room. I am the uncrowned king of AEW and it is time that I start eating like one, because I have been starving! And I am done begin fed scraps! I am everything a World champion is supposed to be! And there is no one back there bigger, faster, or stronger than me! There’s no one that can stop me! And if anybody wants to get in my way, just know this is no longer wrestling. This is war!”

The Bang Bang Scissor Gang were backstage!

“Switchblade” Jay White suggested that on the next Collision, he, along with Colten and Billy team up as the Collision Cowboys representing the Bang Bang Scissor Gang. Bowens said it didn’t matter about the combo, the Bang Bang Scissor Gang ruled the world.

Excalibur announced that Will Ospreay will be on Dynamite next Wednesday night!

Tony Khan informed Excalibur that Wardlow will be competing in “Meat Madness” at Revolution!

Renee Paquette was backstage with the Don Callis Family!

Renee asked Don how Will Ospreay against Takeshita at Revolution will benefit the Don Callis Family. Callis said because win or lose, the two best rope to rope wrestlers will still be a part of the Don Callis Family. Callis said he was on his way to the UK in a private jet to pick up Ospreay. Callis said that Powerhouse Hobbs was going to do damage in “Meat Madness” at Revolution. Don said that the Don Callis Family and Sammy Guevara had a score to settle at Rampage!

Main Event! Trios Match!

AEW World Champion Samoa Joe, “The Machine” Brian Cage, & Swerve Strickland

vs.

FTW Champion HOOK, “Hangman” Adam Page, & Rob Van Dam!

Samoa Joe and Hook started the match for their respective teams. They locked horns and Joe planted Hook. Hook ran off the ropes and hit Joe with a forearm, taking Joe off his feet. Samoa Joe battered Hook in the corner.

Brian Cage tagged in and isolated Hook in the corner with chops. Hook escaped and tagged RVD. Van Dam was looking for a monkey flip, but Cage rammed RVD into the turnbuckles. Swerve grabbed a tag and ate a kick from Rob Van Dam. RVD used his powerful legs to monkey flip Swerve.

Hangman tagged himself in and had a stare down with Swerve. They began to brawl and Hook and Cage had to peel their partners away. Samoa Joe tagged in and bulldozed Hook in the corner with strikes. Cage entered and rocked Hook with a delayed vertical suplex.

Hook stunned Cage with a DDT. RVD tagged in and cleaned house with his educated feet! RVD crushed Swerve with the Rolling Thunder! Rob Van Dam smashed Cage with the 5-star frog splash. Samoa Joe ran in to break up the pin attempt!

Samoa Joe splashed Rob Van Dam in the corner. Samoa Joe rocked RVD with jabs. Joe headbutted RVD. Rob Van Dam took Samoa Joe off his feet with a springboard kick! Hangman tagged in and dished out a lariat to the back of Swerve’s head. Hangman reversed a power bomb from Cage with a hurracanrana! Hangman jumped off the top rope with a diving cross body press, but Brian Cage caught him! Hangman slipped free and drilled Cage with a Death Valley Driver for a near fall!

Samoa Joe jumped in and booted Page. Hook entered the fray and blasted Samoa Joe with a lariat. Swerve grabbed Hook and planted him with a brain buster! RVD jumped off the top rope and nailed Swerve with a kick. Cage connected with a pump handle power bomb on RVD! Page was looking to hit Cage with the Buckshot Lariat, but he spotted Swerve on the floor. Rather than go for the win, Page climbed to the top rope. Cage climbed up to superplex Page, but Hook got up behind Cage and German suplexed Cage!

Hook locked Cage in the RedRum but Cage tagged Samoa Joe. Swerve grabbed Hook but Hook put Swerve in RedRum. Swerve escaped. Cage power bombed Hook! Swerve rocked Hook with the House Call kick! Swerve ducked the Buckshot Lariat from Page, but Page ended up walloping Cage with it!

Samoa Joe, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland met in the ring and glared at each other. Samoa Joe booted Page in the jaw. Samoa Joe followed up with a tope to Hangman, driving Hangman into the announcers’ desk. Swerve was on the apron and went to kick Page, but Page ducked, and Swerve inadvertently connected with Samoa Joe! Hangman Page grabbed Swerve off the apron and power bombed him through the announcers’ desk! Back in the ring, Samoa Joe ducked the Buckshot Lariat and countered with a powerslam to Hangman for a near fall! Samoa Joe tried for a Muscle Buster on Page but Page broke free! RVD jumped back into the ring, but Samoa Joe swarmed him in the corner. Hook snuck up behind Samoa Joe and sent him for a ride with a T-bone suplex! RVD headed to the top, looking for the 5-star Frog Splash, but Cage shoved RVD off the top! Cage wiped out Hook with a discus lariat! Samoa Joe locked in a rear naked choke and won for his team via ref stoppage!

CONTINENTAL CROWN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

Eddie Kingston(c) vs. ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta

Wheeler Yuta is a supremely egotistical human, one whose status within the Blackpool Combat Club and stature as a 3-Time ROH Pure Champion has driven his self-importance to astounding levels. There’s no doubt he’s a gifted professional wrestler, particularly in the realm of pure wrestling, but still a person in denial about how he’s gotten to the status he’s achieved. Just ask Katsuyori Shibata what actually went down the night Yuta won the belt; regardless, that ego is now driving Wheeler Yuta to challenge Eddie Kingston to fight him this Friday night on RAMPAGE. The audacity it takes for Yuta to say “you beat Moxley, Bryan, and Claudio, but you won’t beat me” is astounding, putting young Wheeler into an extraordinary position where he could leave Daily’s Place with four championships around his waist, or remain strictly the Pure Champion. There is no risk for Yuta, only reward, but for Kingston, it’s the possibility of losing everything he fought so hard to achieve just to satisfy the challenge of the loudest mouth in the room.

But that’s what Eddie is…a fighter…and he’s going to answer any challenge thrown in his direction. Kingston holds one singles victory over Yuta to date, a NJPW STRONG Openweight Title defense back on August 30th of last year, but RAMPAGE has been good to Yuta over the course of 2023. He’s won nine straight matches on the program dating back to the February 10th edition of RAMPAGE, and is banking on that streak helping to lead him to victory over “The Mad King”, as well as enjoying a new status as the Continental Crown Champion!

TRIOS CONTEST…

The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds, Evil Uno, & John Silver)

vs.

Cool Hand Ang, Daddy Magic, & Jake Hager

Daily’s Place is the spot where The Dark Order grew from a group of individuals into a true family, in part due to the guidance from Mr. Brodie Lee during his life, and in part to honor him after his passing. And though their ranks have changed in the years since, the core unit of Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, and John Silver have remained together through thick and thin, and are set to return to Jacksonville for Trios action against another unit who have maintained in the face of their own adversity.

Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, and Jake Hager were brought together under the auspices of The Jericho Appreciation Society, and maintained membership in the group for quite some time, until they could no longer stand being under his thumb. In some cases, the members of a group may go their separate ways in this situation, but those three individuals have kept it together in the months since, and though their success rate has not been consistent, at least they have remained together through their trials and tribulations.

Now these two units, groups that have become family by choice rather than blood, will lock horns on RAMPAGE in trios competitions! In a non-televised bout on December 20th, The Dark Order group took the loss to Parker, Menard, and Hager, but perhaps a trip to the place that shaped The Dark Order will lead them to victory, and net this trio their twelfth trios win!

ONE-ON-ONE…

Hikaru Shida vs. Queen Aminata

https://www.youtube.com/embed/gCa36s6EizQ?si=2MyUipAJ9zHkslzB

As was the case with so many others in All Elite Wrestling, Daily’s Place was where Hikaru Shida was shaped into the world class competitor we know today. She was always talented, always one of the best women in professional wrestling, but the Jacksonville experience honed her edge, made her AEW Women’s World Champion for the first time, and introduced her to the worldwide audience. This Friday night Shida gets to return a former 3-Time AEW Women’s World Champion, in front of a packed Daily’s Place, and compete against one of the most promising young women to set foot in AEW as of late.

A week ago Queen Aminata stood opposite the debuting Mariah May, and rather than let the former Stardom champion run right over her, Aminata gave as good as she got, hit as hard as she got hit, and gave Mariah May a fight she certainly didn’t expect. Queen Aminata made Mariah earn that first AEW win, and there’s no doubt she’s going to give the same to Hikaru Shida on RAMPAGE! Will Shida have a triumphant homecoming, or will Queen Aminata hand her an upset?

SINGLES MATCH…

Swerve Strickland vs. Matt Sydal

Swerve Strickland is riding high heading into 2024; not only did he have the best pinfall record in the Continental Classic with his shoulders only put to the mat one time, he also experienced a giant swell in fan support coming out of his fights with Hangman Page, particularly the Texas Death Match at FULL GEAR 2023. Now he has his eyes set on the biggest prize in all of AEW, the World Championship now in the hands of Samoa Joe, and showed no fear when he confronted Joe during DYNAMITE. Swerve wants to be the champion, the first African-American AEW World Champion, and has stated that goal repeatedly; this Friday night on RAMPAGE that journey continues when Swerve goes into singles competition against Matt Sydal! Swerve holds a victory over Sydal from their lone singles bout six years ago during a DEFY event in Seattle, and now they go for round two this Friday night! Can Sydal throw a roadblock in Swerve’s path to a championship challenge?

Continental Classic: Blue League Match!

“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. Claudio Castagnoli!

Danielson and Claudio grappled on the mat, reaching a stalemate. The Blackpool Combat Club teammates know each other very well. Danielson stomped on the back of Claudio’s knees. Claudio fired back with a European Uppercut, stunning Danielson. Claudio slammed Danielson and then dropped an elbow on him.

Claudio thumbed Danielson in the eye. Claudio tried for the Giant Swing, but Danielson cradled him for a near fall. Claudio rocked Bryan with a lariat for a two-count. Claudio tried again for the Giant Swing, but Danielson countered with the Le Bell Lock. Claudio escaped by grabbing the ring ropes. Danielson jumped off the apron and connected with a high knee to Claudio’s shoulder. Danielson whipped Claudio into the steel ring steps.

Back in the ring, Danielson charged at Claudio with a dropkick, but Claudio caught him and hurled him around in the Giant Swing! Claudio hit Danielson with a headbutt. Claudio followed Danielson out of the ring and ran at Danielson with a running European Uppercut.

Claudio was perched on the top turnbuckle, but Danielson knocked him down, putting Claudio in a Tree of Woe type position. Danielson kicked Claudio and then walloped him with a belly-to-back suplex off the top rope!

Danielson managed to apply the Le Bell Lock again. Claudio touched the rope with his bottom rope and Danielson held onto the submission lock as long as legally possible. Finally, the ref saw Claudio’s boot and forced Danielson to relinquish the hold. Claudio made Danielson pay with an avalanche superplex from the top rope, and there was less than five minutes remaining.

The fans chanted “Fight forever! Fight forever!”

Claudio hoisted up Bryan for the Ricola Bomb. Danielson grabbed Claudio’s arm, looking for a triangle choke, but Claudio planted Danielson with the Neutralizer for a near fall! Danielson charged at Claudio with a running knee strike. Danielson grabbed Claudio’s wrists and began to stomp on Claudio’s head. Claudio reversed it and began to stomp on Danielson’s head! They kicked one another until Claudio applied the sharpshooter. There was one minute remaining!

Danielson clawed the mat, trying to reach the ropes. Claudio sat down, making the sharpshooter even tighter! Thirty seconds remained! Fans were on their feet! With ten seconds left, Claudio tried for the Ricola Bomb, but Danielson escaped. Claudio rocked Danielson with a knee and went for the cover but time expired! The match ended in a draw!

Bryan Danielson has advanced to the Blue League Finals!

AEW World Trios Championship Match!

The Acclaimed—Anthony Bowens and Max Caster & Daddy Ass (c.)

vs.

Top Flight—Dante & Darius Martin, & Action Andretti!

Action went for a backdrop, but Bowens countered with a neck breaker. Bowens blasted Action with a thrust kick. Darius and Action hit the Acclaimed with stereo dropkicks. Daddy Ass tagged in and knocked Action Andretti to the mat. Daddy Ass planted Action with a side slam.

Top Flight used tandem offense on Max, and then Action splashed Max with a standing shooting star press. Dante jumped off the ropes, but Billy waffled him with a stiff uppercut. Billy planted Darius with a tilt awhirl slam!

Top Flight took flight and connected with topes to Daddy Ass and Anthony Bowens. Meanwhile, in the ring, Max Caster rolled up Action Andretti out of nowhere and pinned him!

“Wow, Max Caster saving this match for the Trios Champions, because Top Flight and Action Andretti were seconds away from scoring what some might call an upset,” said Nigel.

“Did Max pull the tights?” asked Kevin Kelly.

“Who cares?” replied Nigel.

FTW Champion HOOK had a message for Wheeler Yuta!

“You want to fight me for my title by my rules? That’s fine by me. Let’s do it next week at Worlds End!”

ROH World-Six Man Champion “The Machine” Brian Cage (with Prince Nana)

vs.

“Limitless” Keith Lee!

Keith Lee and Brian Cage locked up. Keith shoved Cage away and smiled. Keith Lee charged at Cage, but Cage dodged him. Cage whacked Lee with a basement dropkick and then a tornado DDT!

Keith Lee splashed Cage in the corner and then clobbered Cage with body shots. Keith Lee threw Cage over Lee’s head for a two-count. Brian Cage superplexed Keith Lee!

“An incredible collision of man and mat!” said Tony Schiavone.

Cage hoisted up Lee and tossed him down with a faceplant. Prince Nana pulled a cinder block from beneath the ring. He slid it into the mat. Keith Lee headbutted Cage and then finished him off with a jackhammer, scoring the pin on Cage!

Keith Lee: “Almost exactly a year ago someone took me out for almost two months with this cinder block. And I’ve been trying to send a message to him, but he seems to not be listening. So, I guess at Dynamite I’ll come make my message clear. I’ve got a house to tear down and I’ll do it brick by brick!”

Renee Paquette was backstage to interview AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm, who was with Mariah May and Luther!

Renee asked Storm about her upcoming match with Riho at Worlds End.

Storm acted like she’d never met Mariah May before tonight.

May: “Renee, I have an exciting announcement to make. My wrestler’s license has been approved, I’m medically cleared, and I’m good to go.”

Renee: “Incredible. Do you have any idea when you may be debuting?”

May: “It will be very soon and Ms. Storm, do you have any advice?”

Storm: “Sorry, darling, I wasn’t listening. And Riho, you are very small and very light. But the winter is coming, and I have no problem packing it on for a new role. You will leave me no choice but to gobble you up!”

TNT Champion Christian Cage, along with the “Prodigy” Nick Wayne, walked to the ring!

Christian Cage: “People want to know why Nick’s mom smashed Adam Copeland in the head with my TNT Championship. I can explain it to myself, but why should I when she can do it herself. So, get on your feet and show some respect for Shayna Wayne!”

Shayna Wayne came to the ring and joined Christian Cage and her son Nick Wayne.

Shayna: “You boo me? You boo a mother? How dare you? You all want to know why I did what I did to Adam Copeland? Nick Wayne is my son. He’s my baby boy. My pride and joy. I sat in this ring, and I watched Adam Copeland smash a steel chair into his head and you wonder why I made the choice that I did. I did what any loving mother would do. I protected my son.

“Really? Really? Boo a mother? Something has been made very clear to me. The one person who loves and cares for my son as much as I do is the “Patriarch” Christian Cage.”

Christian Cage: “Adam Copeland is a piece of crap. Shayna worked as a waitress just to put food on her plate and to help make her son’s dream come true to make it as a pro wrestling. But with one swing of the chair, you took that dream away, Copeland. If anyone should know better, it’s you, Copeland, as you grew up with a single mother. I wish your mother were still alive, Adam, so I could watch your mother disown you.

“You’ve never been able to harness your anger. I scored that night, and then scored when I walked out with Mother Wayne. And now that my family is complete, I’ll address the challenge that you made, when you challenge me for Worlds End in a No Disqualification Match. Adam, I’ll accept your invitation for a fight at Worlds End. But I will not accept your challenge because you are no challenger. I already beat you. And I am levels above you. I stand on the mountain top as the very best in this sport. And I am going to take you behind the shed and put you down for the last time!”

Lexy Nair was backstage with the AEW World Tag Team Champions “Absolute” Ricky Starks and Big Bill!

Big Bill: “Kenny Omega, apparently you have diverticulitis. First of all, that sounds made up. Let me tell you what I think is really happening here. I think you’re afraid to face us.”

Starks: “Kenny, you don’t have the guts to face us, therefore, you and Chris forfeit your match at Worlds End. And we will go and party in New York City.”

Chris Jericho walked onto the scene and interrupted Starks.

Chris Jericho: “You know, the Golden Jets are on hiatus, Kenny Omega is out indefinitely, but I’m not forfeiting anything. I’ve got a signed contract for an AEW World Tag Team Championship match against you two. I don’t know when it’s going to be or who my partner is going to be, but I’ll find somebody, and when I do, I’ll take those Tag Team Titles away from you. And that…is the absolute truth.”

Continental Classic: Blue League Match!

Daniel Garcia vs. House of Black’s Brody King!

“Daddy Magic” Matt Menard joined the broadcast booth for this match.

Garcia slapped Brody in the face, making a statement. Brody immediately began to pummel Garcia and then clobbered him with a gigantic cannonball for a near fall. Brody hammered Garcia with forearm shots.

Brody fought off Garcia with boots to Brody’s face. Brody used a sit out senton on Garcia for a two-count. Brody crumpled Garcia with a knife edge chop.

Brody invited Garcia to chop him, and Garcia obliged. Garcia was fighting like the rent was due. Garcia shocked Brody with a suplex.

“Holy smokes, he got him up! What an effort by Garcia,” said Schiavone.

Brody retaliated with a Death Valley Driver and then a lariat for a near fall. Brody spiked Garcia with the Gonzo Bomb but Garcia kicked out!

“What kind of superhuman is able to kick out of a Gonzo Bomb like that?” asked Kevin Kelly.

Brody picked up Garcia, who was like deadweight. Brody slapped at Garcia, but Garcia jackknifed Brody and pinned him!

“Unbelievable! What did we witness here tonight?” asked Schiavone.

“Garcia ended the Continental Classic for Brody King,” added Kevin Kelly.

The arena lights went dark! When the lights came back on, Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews were standing in the ring, holding Garcia up. Daddy Magic jumped into the ring, but Buddy booted him in the head! Brody yanked at Garcia’s fingers, trying to break them.

FTR—Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, sprinted to the ring and the House of Black retreated!

Dax Harwood: “I’m tired of the fairy tales. I’m tired of all the magic tricks. If you want us to be in your family, well, damnit, I’ll be your tequila drinking uncle that whoops everybody’s ass! I want it, we want it, first time ever! FTR versus House of Black! Top guys out!”

TBS Champion Julia Hart & Skye Blue vs. Thunder Rosa & Abadon!

Skye Blue stomped on Abadon. Julia tagged in and began to bash Abadon’s head on the mat. Abadon caught Julia and planted her onto the mat. Abadon began to batter Julia on the mat and then connected with a running knee.

Abadon tried to make a tag, but Skye Blue charged in and prevented Abadon from reaching Thunder Rosa. Julia Hart and Skye Blue double teamed Abadon. Abadon double DDT’ed Blue and Hart. Thunder Rosa grabbed a tag and cleaned house on Julia and Skye!

Thunder Rosa smashed into Skye Blue with a flying lariat and then double knees! Thunder Rosa nailed Skye with a Northern Lights Suplex for a near fall. Skye Blue clocked Thunder Rosa with a thrust kick. Julia Hart climbed to the top rope, but Abadon knocked her down. Thunder Rosa hit the Tijuana Bomb on Skye Blue and then pinned her!

Main Event Time! Continental Classic: Blue League Match!

Andrade El Idolo vs. ROH World Champ/NJPW Openweight Champ Eddie Kingston!

Kingston ducked Andrade’s back elbow at the start of the match. Andrade ducked Eddie’s spinning back fist. Kingston did a double foot stomp on Andrade’s abdomen. Andrade came off the ropes, but Kingston turned him inside out with a lariat.

Andrade wiped out Kingston with a dragon screw leg whip. He sent Kingston back down again with a flying forearm. Andrade smoked Kingston when he ran into Kingston in the corner with a double knee strike. Andrade rocked Kingston with the three amigos suplex.

Andrade jumped off the top turnbuckle, but Kingston countered with a boot. In the process, Kingston tweaked his knee. Kingston fired off the Kobashi chops to Andrade and followed up with an Exploder Suplex for a near fall!

Andrade snapmared Kingston through the ropes and to the arena floor. Andrade connected with a moonsault. Andrade went for another moonsault, this time in the ring, but Kingston moved, so Andrade adjusted and crashed onto Kingston with a standing moonsault!

Eddie sent Andrade flying with a belly to back suplex for a two-count. Andrade backed up Kingston into the corner. Andrade starched Kingston with a spinning back elbow but Kingston kicked out at the two-count! Andrade applied the figure four, bridged up for the figure eight, but Eddie grabbed the bottom rope to break the hold. Eddie stunned Andrade with two spinning back fists! Kingston hoisted up Andrade and planted him headfirst on the mat and pinned Andrade!

It’ll be Eddie Kingston vs. Bryan Danielson on Dynamite this Wednesday!

CONTINENTAL CLASSIC: BLUE LEAGUE…

Standings

Andrade El Idolo (9)

Brody King (6)

“The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson (6)

Claudio Castagnoli (3)

ROH World Champion/NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston (3)

Daniel Garcia (0)

Daniel Garcia (0) vs. Eddie Kingston (3)

The Continental Classic is getting down to the wire, we’ve passed the halfway point, and unfortunately for Daniel Garcia there is no way for him to win the Blue League on points, nor even come in second in order to battle it out with the points leader for that spot in the Continental Classic Finals at WORLDS END. All Garcia can do now is play spoiler to those with hope in their hearts, and with enough points to potentially get them to the Blue League Finals.

One of those men who has to hold onto hope right now is Eddie Kingston, an opponent Garcia has battled many times over the last two years, because after dropping his first two Blue League bouts, Kingston finally scored his first three points last week over Claudio Castagnoli.

But with Bryan Danielson, as well as Brody King, at six points and Andrade El Idolo at nine points, Kingston finds himself with two must-win bouts left in the league, and also dependent on the failings of others. Save the possibility of a draw, either Danielson or King will walk out of Saturday with nine points to their name, and Kingston has lost to both of them already. With the other bout pitting Castagnoli against Andrade, either Claudio walks with six or Andrade with 12, the latter result puts that top spot in the league totally out of Kingston’s reach, with only a hope of second place to hold onto.

Now this is where things get very interesting, the possibility of ties and what draws could potentially do to shake up the entire Blue League, but the bottom line for the ROH World/NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion is that he must defeat Daniel Garcia to have hope, he must defeat Andrade El Idolo in his next match to have hope, otherwise Kingston’s gamble with his two championship titles will have failed.

But is it a failure to risk it all in order to achieve something greater? Is that willingness to fail actually what makes a person great? Is it brave or foolhardy for an athlete to look at their future and be willing to gamble everything at the risk of walking away with nothing? Only at the end of this road will Eddie Kingston be able to answer that question for himself…

Bryan Danielson (6) vs. Brody King (6)

In his first two matches in the Continental Classic, Brody King showed the world just how dangerous an individual he can be. Generally competing in tags and trios with his fellow House of Black devotees, Brody took it to Eddie Kingston and Claudio Castagnoli with a fierceness. That first match with Kingston kind of shook up the competition as many thought Eddie, as the ROH World and NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion, would come into the tournament strong. Instead Brody dropped “The Mad King”, and moved onto Claudio Castagnoli, who was coming off a strong win on Daniel Gacris. Just as he did with Kingston, Brody King handed Castagnoli his first loss in the tournament, shocking the world once more with his dominance in singles competition, and with eyes on his third bout against Andrade El Idolo.

But Brody’s power and capacity for violence were no match for Andrade’s cunning as El Idolo took advantage of an exposed turnbuckle, cracked Brody’s head against the steel, and ended up with the victory of The House’s behemoth. Every man coming into this tournament did so knowing loss was a possibility, if not an inevitability, so King will take the defeat as a lesson and move forward with no excuses into his last two fights. For better or worse, Brody King has to meet former multi-time World Champion and Blackpool Combat Club member Bryan Danielson in his next fight.

Bryan has been through a bit of hell during 2023; from the litany of injuries sustained after REVOLUTION 2023’s Iron Man Match with MJF to his broken arm from FORBIDDEN DOOR 2023 against Okada to the fractured orbital bone suffered at the hands of both Okada and Orange Cassidy, the body of “The American Dragon” has gone through the ring.

And yet he never stops, Bryan Danielson never yields, and that is why he is a part of this tournament in spite of how much his body has endured. It seems with Danielson that no matter what his body may feel, his mind is strong, his will is iron, and his drive to compete is inevitable. That’s why he went through three Continental Classic matches in a week against Eddie Kingston, Daniel Garcia, and Andrade El Idolo. The first two were victories for Dragon, hard-fought, still victories nonetheless, but then came Andrade and his willingness to do something that the other two competitors did not: attack the eye.

With a relentless aggression, Andrade went after Danielson’s eye to the point that many wondered if Dragon would even be able to fight the match through to its end, but anyone who questioned that clearly doesn’t know the heart of Bryan. He fought through to the bitter end, taking the pain and punishment Andrade dished out, never stopping his fight, but ultimately succumbing. So now that the man who many thought would run the table with a perfect bracket has tasted defeat, what is his road to the finals? What is Brody King’s?

Obviously for both victory here is the goal, putting the winner at nine points in the Blue League, and potentially tied with Andrade El Idolo depending on how his battle with Claudio sways. If that’s the case, it comes down to the final match of the League for each, for Bryan that is actually fellow BCC member Claudio Castagnoli while for Brody King it is Daniel Garcia, someone who holds a victory over Brody from earlier this year. Win or lose, both men are still in the fight to win the Continental Classic, but whoever walks out of this with hand raised will be just a bit more comfortable in their position…that is if anyone is in position to walk away from this fight. Add in the fact that Bryan Danielson had a Fight Without Honor war last night at ROH’s FINAL BATTLE 2023 that ended with Mark Briscoe dropping “The American Dragon” with a Jay Driller to win the match, and it’s really questionable how Danielson is even capable of walking into this one, much less expecting to walk out the winner!

Claudio Castagnoli (3) vs. Andrade El Idolo (9)

Though some may have questioned whether or not Andrade El Idolo was wise to take on CJ Perry for his management, it’s hard to question the results as El Idolo is undefeated thus far, with victories over Daniel Garcia, Bryan Danielson, and Brody King just this past Wednesday on DYNAMITE. In each case Andrade has looked strong, dominant even, and as evidenced in both the Danielson and Brody King matches, willing to do anything it takes to secure that victory. In Bryan’s case it meant attacking that eye injury, and in King’s making use of the exposed turnbuckle, either way it ended with points for Andrade, enough to put him at the top of Blue League with just two matches left.

As for Claudio, he had a great first outing against Daniel Garcia to score his three points, but then ran into the brick wall of Brody King, and stumbled once more in his DYNAMITE: GRAND SLAM 2023 rematch with Eddie Kingston. The latter likely stung greater than the former given the ill will between Kingston and Castagnoli, but the Brody loss is still a loss and Castagnoli finds himself in the same hole as Kingston.

Claudio’s path to possibly make the cut for League Finals means defeating Andrade and, in his final match, his own Blackpool Combat Club brother Bryan Danielson. Even that would only net him nine points, leaving The Swiss Superman also dependent on the outcome of other matches in order to be one of the last two men standing for the Gold League Finals in Orlando on December 27th. Andrade is obviously in the Gold League driver’s seat, but he could end up fighting for that second place spot if he drops this match and his final bout with Eddie Kingston. No one in this Blue League should let themselves get too comfortable…especially considering four of these six men fought at ROH’s FINAL BATTLE 2023 event last night. All but Andrade El Idolo and Brody King went through a fight, so it will be very intriguing to see how those may effect these three bouts!

AEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

“Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy(c) vs. “The Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith

Last night at FINAL BATTLE 2023, Bryan Keith came into ROH for the very first time with nothing more than an opportunity to qualify for the ROH World Television Championship Survival of the Fittest Elimination bout. “All” Kieth had to do was beat Jack Cartwheel on the ZERO HOUR to get there.

Well he did that, and in the span of the seven minutes that fight lasted, Bryan also won over the ROH faithful in Garland, TX. Then “The Bounty Hunter” stepped into the Survival of the Fittest Finals and hung in there for seventeen minutes, eliminating Lee Moriarty in the process before Kyle Fletcher took him out, and Bryan Keth solidified himself as a force to be reckoned with anywhere he goes.

Obviously someone took notice because Orange Cassidy, the 2-Time AEW International Champion, actually stepped up to “The Bounty Hunter” and offered him an opportunity to challenge for the title this Saturday night on COLLISION! Now Orange is coming into this off a fight of his own, teaming up with The Von Erichs on RAMPAGE to beat Cool Hand Ang, Daddy Magic, and Jake Hager, but that took far less a toll on the champion than FINAL BATTLE 2023 did to his challenger!

Can Bryan Keith upset the defending champion this Saturday night in Garland, and continue to show the world what he brings to the table inside that squared circle? Will OC’s own challenge backfire on him come COLLISION?

All Elite Wrestling has called Garland, TX and the Curtis Culwell Center home since 2019, and for the first time we are bringing COLLISION action to town! The Blue League tournament action heads into its fourth round with Castagnoli versus Andrade, Kingston battling Garcia, and Danielson tackling King! COLLISION begins at 8pm ET/7pm CT on TNT, and to get prepared for it all, drop by the official AEW YouTube channel to watch highlights from this week’s editions of DYNAMITE and RAMPAGE, as well as events from the last COLLISION, and the latest CONTROL CENTER!

**CONTAINS SPOILERS**

Tonight’s episode of AEW DYNAMITE was broadcast live from the Bell Centre in Montreal, QC!

Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and “The Human Suplex Machine” Taz were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!

Continental Classic Gold League Match!

Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley vs. LFI’s Rush!

Rush chopped at Moxley and Moxley returned fire! Mox changed levels and kicked Rush, but Rush countered with a belly-to-belly suplex. Mox came down hard on his shoulder with an awkward landing, his shoulder and arm being caught under Rush’s body.

They brawled outside the ring and Mox whipped Rush over the barricade. Moxley pursued Rush through the fans. Rush gouged Moxley’s eyes and then smashed a drink over Moxley’s head. Back in the ring they traded more strikes. Rush stomped on Moxley in the corner and then booted Moxley in the face.

Rush taunted Moxley, but Moxley flipped him off in response. Rush scoop slammed Moxley for a near fall. Moxley rallied back with a big cutter to Rush. Moxley rocked Rush with a lariat in the corner. Moxley superplexed Moxley for a two count.

Outside the ring, Moxley charged at Rush and Rush countered with a belly-to-belly suplex, sending Mox flying into the steel barricade. Rush returned Moxley to the ring and Moxley spiked Rush with a DDT.

The fans chanted “Moxley! Moxley! Moxley!”

Rush blasted Moxley with a stalling piledriver. Rush superplexed Moxley for a near fall. Moxley got to his feet and rocketed out of the ring with a tope suicida at Rush! Both men returned to the ring, barely beating the ref’s 10-count.

Moxley and Rush collided in the ring, Rush resorting to a headbutt, knocking Mox down. Rush was looking for the Bull’s Horns, but Mox rocked Rush with the King Kong Lariat and the Death Rider. Rush kicked out of the pin attempt, and then Moxley transitioned to the bulldog choke and put Rush to sleep!

“That’s how you do it, with the proper fundamentals,” said Taz.

“Rush is frustrated. He woke up and heard Moxley’s music playing,” added Excalibur.

Renee Paquette interviewed Roderick Strong and The Kingdom on the ramp!

Roderick Strong: “Renee! It’s obvious that Max is going to put his dagger into the heart of my best friend by proxy Samoa Joe. But you know, Joe is a big boy, and if life has taught me anything, actions have consequences. And tonight, Joe is going to put his hand on a hot stove and it’s going to burn.

“Renee, you sound crazy! Every decision has consequences. Look at me! This is my life. I’m in this wheelchair because of decisions I’ve made. This is my life every single day! And I will live with the consequences of my decisions until now!”

Roderick Strong stood up from the wheelchair and began to walk!

Roderick Strong: “I will no longer suffer consequences for my decisions. I will no longer be held back by this wheelchair! This wheelchair has held me back for far too long. Far too long.”

Renee Paquette was backstage outside of AEW World Champion MJF’s locker room, hoping to get a word with him!

“Hangman” Adam Page walked by, unaware that Renee was doing a live shot. She transitioned to interviewing Page, who hasn’t been seen since his Texas Death Match with Swerve Strickland.

Adam Page: “I got hit in the back of the head with a cinder block and then choked unconscious. So, I could not fly for a few weeks. I’m glad you caught me, because there is something I need to say to you, Swerve, and to the world. Swerve you broke into my home. You went into my son’s room. It took Prince Nana, it took Brian Cage, but you beat me in a Texas Death Match on pay-per-view. I can concede, I can recognize when I’ve lost.

“And you have beaten me. But Swerve at Full Gear I took something from you that you will never get back. And I think we are bound by something bigger than either of us. And I think you should know this is not over. And Swerve I know what you want more than anything from this life. And I promise because of what you’ve done to me that you will never have it.”

MJF walked out of his locker room.

MJF: “Howdy Seabiscuit. I just wanted to say to you, bravo on that match at Full Gear against Strickland. I mean it was so impressive to see two guys battle it out to see who could get more STDs.”

Page: “Honestly I don’t have 30 minutes to stand here for you to talk to me like you normally do, so Renee, if this is your interview, have at it.”

Page walked off.

MJF turned to Renee: “The reason that I have to go out there for 30 minutes is to wake the crowd up after they have to deal with somebody like you putting them to sleep.”

Page turned around and came back to MJF!

Page: “Is there something else you want to say to me?”

MJF: “Funny you ask. My memory is not all that great, Renee, I’ve been hit in the head a few times. I think the last time you and I saw eye to eye was when I verbally bent you over in front of Bret Hart at Double or Nothing.”

Page: “Yeah, yeah, I think you were talking about a match where I buckshotted you and threw you over the top rope. Was that the one?”

MJF: “That’s a good memory. See what I remember is the first time I won the Dynamite Diamond Ring, but I can’t recall who I beat. I think it was this white trash hick. Renee, do you remember who I beat for the Dynamite Diamond Ring, because it’s escaping me.”

Page: “You know, I think it was me, and I think it made me so upset I had to console myself by becoming the World champion instead.”

MJF: “Oh yeah, that reign was fantastic. Lasted about six months, right? The thing is my reign has been well over a year.”

Page: “Well I’m sure you’re really proud of that. And I’m sure you’ll continue to be proud of it until you’re 70 years old, at home, by yourself, telling your ninth cat about your one year title reign.”

MJF: “Funny stuff. You want to get honest here Hangman. You know what I think? I think out of everybody in this locker room, there’s one guy I think…I think you’re the devil.”

Page: “The devil? The masked guy? You think I’m running around in a Party City mask? I have known you for a long time, Max, and as long as I have known you, you have been a manipulator, Max. Just be honest with me, Max. It’s probably just you, right? You put on a mask, you run around, you attack your opponents, you pretend you attack yourself. I don’t know what the deal is but it’s just you. Be honest with me.”

MJF: “You want honesty? How about I honestly beat the living crap out of you!”

Hangman got into MJF’s face, but Samoa Joe intervened.

Samoa Joe: “Easy there, he’s my responsibility now. And MJF, what is wrong with you? We have other issues tonight that do not involve him.”

Renee: “You guys planned your debut. Can you give me information on who your first opponent is going to be?”

Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana walked onto the scene.

Swerve: “9 and 0, 9 and 0. It’s going to take more than those crappy new kick pads that you have on to stop the momentum that I’m on. As you saw in L.A., I’m willing to do whatever it takes to win, at all costs, it don’t matter who’s in my way. Remember that.”

AEW World Champion and one half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions MJF came to the ring next!

MJF: “December 30th, World’s End, it’ll be Samoa Joe against yours truly for the AEW World Championship. When it comes to Samoa Joe as a person, I don’t like him. But professionally, I respect him. I respect what he’s done for this industry, and because he didn’t come here to line his pockets, but because he believes in AEW.

“Now back in the early 2000s, I remember getting a poster in my mailbox for TNA Wrestling. I tuned in and I couldn’t be happier. I saw the ‘Samoan Submission Machine.’ He looked unconventional, and he didn’t seem to care, and neither did we. Now unfortunately, later on in his career, his talents weren’t fully recognized, and he was not afforded the opportunity to be a world champion in WWE. But what Joe did, for this sport, was bigger than that.

“Samoa Joe proved you don’t have to be a massive, male model body builder to be a top guy in this sport. Samoa Joe broke the mold. He proved alternatives matter. And because of the roads he paved, it has allowed a man like me to stand in the ring in front of you today. Without a guy like Joe, there might not be an AEW. As much as it pains me to admit, thank you.

“I’m not too shabby myself, now am I? I managed to pave a road of my own. I’ve helped build a new alternative and I’ve helped build this place brick by brick. And I did that by defeating some of the biggest names in this industry. Guys like Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, but of all the names I have had to face in this squared circle, the one name I look back on and say, not only was I lucky to be victorious, but I was also lucky to survive, that’d be you, Joe. Samoa Joe you are a wrestling legend. But December 30th is not about your wrestling legacy. December 30th is about my mine!

“December 30th is about can Max outlast the final boss of this sport one more time. So now, I’m going to make a promise. I’m going to make a promise to everyone watching at home and everyone in this arena. Joe, on December 30th, I don’t care if you beat me within an inch of my life, because I promise I am going to show the world it is not about the size of the dog in the fight, it is about the size of the fight in the dog! At World’s End, you are going to have to put me down!”

The arena went dark! Lights in the ring began to flicker. Men dressed all in black, their faces in black masks, with the devil logo on their backs, grabbed MJF and held him down. One of the men had a baseball bat and was about to use it on MJF!

Samoa Joe’s music hit! Samoa Joe sprinted to the ring and the men retreated!

A message on the screen read:

“In the shadows, our game begins. Next week, MJF & Samoa Joe…will you face the unknown in a tag match? Are you a hero, Max?”

MJF grabbed a microphone: “I’m so sick of your Scooby Doo BS! Let me explain something to you! I am not dealing with your crap when I’ve got Samoa Joe breathing down my back at World’s End. I am going to take out all of your men one by one. I am going to unmask you, you coward. And next week, you want a tag match? You’re one!”

Samoa Joe tried to calm down MJF and was upset when MJF accepted the challenge for next week.

Mariah knocked on Tony Khan’s door and walked into his office.

TNT Champion “The Patriarch” Christian Cage responded to Adam Copeland’s challenge for next week’s Dynamite!

Christian Cage was flanked by AEW security in the ring.

Christian Cage: “What I’d like to do right now is go ahead and invite the Rated R Superstar Adam Copeland to this ring right now. Adam, I know you’re back there. I just want to speak to you about a few things about what you said last week. If you don’t mind making your presence felt, it’d be very much appreciated.

“Adam, I would like to speak to you in the ring, if you wouldn’t mind. If the truck can hit his music, something. Maybe I should come back there and speak to him then.”

Adam Copeland’s music hit, and Copeland stormed to the ring!

Christian: “Management wanted me to have this security. It wasn’t my idea. We don’t need security here tonight. So, I’m going to ask you gentlemen to vacate the ring.

“Last week you challenged me to a match to the TNT Championship December 6th on Dynamite. I’m here to tell you that we’re not going to make it to Montreal next week. We’re not going to make it because I’m sorry. Now look, I know what you’re thinking, that I’m only sorry because I’m on an island by myself. Last week you took out the Kill Switch. You took out the “Prodigy” Nick Wayne.

“I was so mad when you hit Kill Switch with two con-chair-tos, I ran out of my house and drove with the windows down. I just needed to think. It turned into a road trip of soul searching, digging down deep, trying to figure out how I became this guy who does and says such unsavory things. And then on that drive, it started to remind me of those times we borrowed my mom’s car.

“We didn’t care where we went. We were broke. We were having the times of our lives on the road, and we were going to make it. And did we ever make it! We went on to become multiple times tag team champions. The greatest tag team that ever lived. We both became multi time World champions. Take the wrestling part of our relationship away and it runs even deeper.

“Everyone knows you grew up with a single mom, Adam. Everyone knows you didn’t have a father figure. Yes, I’m the patriarch of AEW, but I am your brother. You might not have had a father, but in turn, my father became your father. To this day, he’s still your biggest fan. I’m just going to say, we weren’t just two random guys that were thrown together. I love you, man. We are family.

“And listen to me, when your mom passed away a few years ago, that was the hardest time of your life. But sometime before she passed, she said, ‘What I wouldn’t give to see you guys in that ring tagging one last time.’ And on my drive, I thought, let’s do it for her, let’s go on this journey again. For your mom! Let’s do it for her, man.”

Adam Copeland turned around to contemplate what he just heard from Christian Cage. Christian charged at Copeland, trying to strike with a cheap shot. But Copeland saw it coming and kicked Christian with a low blow!

Adam Copeland: “Nice try, dumb ass. Sit up when I’m talking to you. Shine this belt up real nice, because next week, she’s coming home with me! Oh, by the way, I almost forgot, go f—k yourself!”

AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

MJF(c) vs. “Switchblade” Jay White

https://www.youtube.com/embed/K9_OyE5_z-E?si=IqJsvOfoNbN6znCY&start=61

On November 1st, just four days after beating Kenny Omega on COLLISION, Maxwell Jacob Friedman became the longest reigning AEW World Champion in AEW’s history, surpassing the 346-day marker set by “The Cleaner” between WINTER IS COMING 2020 when he beat Jon Moxley and FULL GEAR 2021 when he lost to Hangman Page. One week later, on the November 8th DYNAMITE in Portland, MJF defeated Daniel Garcia in a World Championship defense, thereby tying the mark of 9 successful defenses set by Moxley during his reign from REVOLUTION 2020 where be bested Chris Jericho to the aforementioned WINTER IS COMING 2020 loss.

These are two huge milestones in the history of All Elite Wrestling, as well as in the professional career of Maxwell Jacob Friedman, not to neglect his fifth consecutive victory where the Dynamite Diamond Ring is concerned, but unfortunately MJF has had to celebrate both this championship milestones without his precious Triple B, the AEW World Championship title. For weeks now “Switchblade” Jay White has been parading around with the physical title belt and using his possession of it to proclaim himself the real AEW World Champion. While White is certainly championship material, his status as a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion is testament to that, he is not the AEW World Champion regardless of his physically holding the title belt.

While he’s not champion, what “King Switch” has been is a thorn in MJF’s side that he’s been unable to remove, a foe Max has been unable to get a leg up on, and man surrounded by three other men willing to get their hands dirty in order to lend “Switchblade” an assist when it is need. Jay White is also one of just two people who’ve pinned MJF’s shoulders to the mat since he returned to the fold at ALL OUT 2022, the other being Dax Harwood the night Better Than You BayBay challenged FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. To say Jay White has the psychological edge heading into this fight would be an understatement, and though initially it seemed the Devil-masked individual, and their gang of black clad thugs, that have encircled this bout was MJF’s balance to everything White had done, it became clear after White’s victory over Mark Briscoe that they (a) The Devil was not MJF and (b) they were not on the side of the World Champion either. Even though their initial arrival on the scene was at the expense of Jay White, this time around they left The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass laying, even chucking Anthony Bowens through a window.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/ZONwtE0-V0A?si=N9e5Wy2pB2R6UoEU&start=201

So after everything that has gone done between MJF, his allies, Jay White, and BULLET CLUB GOLD, the two men will finally go one-on-one for the AEW World Championship! It’s MJF’s chance to become the most successful champion in AEW history by breaking Mox’s record, it’s Jay White’s opportunity to ascend to the throne in All Elite Wrestling just as he did in New Japan, and it plays out this Saturday night live on pay-per-view from the legendary KIA Forum!

AEW WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

Hikaru Shida(c) vs. Toni Storm

https://www.youtube.com/embed/Bm5ZuEKY_S8?si=c-rfPF4V4B66t-JG&start=79

Though it’s been a little more than ten years since the very first time Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida stepped into the ring with one another, that fight from the REINA promotion is their lone fight away from All Elite Wrestling and a tag team one won by Storm and her partner.

It would be nine years before Storm and Shida saw each other inside the squared circle again, only now they were working as partners on DARK: ELEVATION #74, teaming with Willow Nightingale as their third to top Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir, and former AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose. The two women would actually team up several more times in 2022, actually proving quite successful both as a team and a trio, but the AEW Women’s World Championship would enter the picture.

At ALL OUT 2022, with the title having been vacated as a result of Thunder Rosa’s injury, Toni Storm bested Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D, Jamie Hayter, and Shida to win her first title, acquired by pinning Hayter, and since she was not the woman pinned, lining up Shida for a title fight of her own. That first singles bout between the women would go down on TITLE TUESDAY 2022, and end with Toni Storm still the reigning champion.

The two women would go their separate ways, reconnecting in May 2023, but unlike Shida who had stayed true to the side of angels, Toni Storm had aligned herself with Ruby Soho and Saraya to form The Outcasts. The alliance-turned-rivalry would blossom into a Women’s World Championship match at the 200th episode of DYNAMITE and that fight would end with “The Shining Samurai” becoming a 2-Time World Champion. Sadly it was a short-lived title reign as Saraya would bring it to an end just 25 days later at ALL IN: LONDON, though not by pinning Shida, but rather by putting down Toni Storm to claim the victory. That pinfall on Toni would prove a breaking point for Storm’s role in The Outcasts as she began to spiral out into the woman we see now, and the Women’s World Champion defeating Toni at GRAND SLAM 2023 completely broke the camel’s back.

The Women’s World Championship would end up back in Shida’s possession after TITLE TUESDAY 2023, making her the first 3-Time champ in the division, but as for Toni Storm, a week prior to Shida’s win at DYNAMITE: 2023 ANNIVERSARY, we all witnessed Toni spiral out on RJ City before making her “Timeless” declaration.

Now lost in this “Timeless” Hollywood starlet delusion, Toni has declared this year’s FULL GEAR event as her “Hollywood Homecoming” and “Quest for the Gold”, heaping a great deal of the blame for her woes on Shida’s lap despite it being The Outcasts, Toni’s former friends, who caused much of that misfortune. As for Shida, while Toni has been experiencing this break from reality, she has posted three successful title defenses against Ruby Soho, Willow Nightingale, and that unforgettable Fright Night Fight with Abadon on COLLISION. Meanwhile Storm has not been inside the ring since an October 7th victory over Kiera Hogan, which means she may be well-rested and healed up from any nagging issues, but heading into FULL GEAR 2023 is she ready for a fight, especially the type of fight Hikaru Shida will undoubtedly bring?

https://www.youtube.com/embed/tVMDFAAaJkI?si=d_KMbv2CNEzXCz_5&start=201

The defending Women’s World Champion does not want this third reign to end as abruptly as the second, and thus she will throw every bit of her arsenal at “Timeless” Toni Storm to insure this go-round isn’t a repeat of the second. While she may hold the spot as longest-reigning Women’s World Champion of all-time at 372 days, so too does Shida hold the position for shortest with that 25 days reign, and if Toni beats her on Saturday night, she’ll also have the second shortest time with the title as well. That’s not the history Shida intends to make…

AEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

Orange Cassidy(c) vs. Jon Moxley

https://www.youtube.com/embed/OtJlr9pU-cw?si=IXvunlHsxf70l7ki&start=135

After 326 days and 31 championship defenses, Orange Cassidy had the AEW International Championship ripped from his waist by former 3-Time AEW World Champion Jon Moxley at ALL OUT 2023. It was a violent bout, one in which Cassidy was brutalized like never before in his career, but it was a beating that earned him the respect of Mox, not an easy thing to acquire by any means.

Unfortunately for Moxley, his time as International Champion did not come close to touching the records set by Cassidy during his reign because on his fourth defense of the title, just 17 days in, Rey Fenix dropped Moxley hard, and wrested the championship from The BCC member’s grasp. It was a shock to be certain, a win many considered an upset despite Fenix’s championship pedigree, and one that actually put Mox on the injury list for several weeks as far as AEW was concerned, though that didn’t stop the man from fighting for OTT in England and Ireland, for NJPW in Osaka, and at NJPW STRONG’s event at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, the home of FINAL BATTLE 2023.

Meanwhile, during the month that Moxley was kept on the sidelines before his OTT trip, Orange Cassidy had the opportunity to challenge Fenix for the International Championship, a one-on-one rematch of their 11/2/22 Three Way title fight early in Orange’s reign, and just like that fight, it ended with “Freshly Squeezed” getting his hand raised in victory. So not only was OC the longest-reigning International Champion in that title’s short life, not only is he the most successful champion in all of AEW history with those 31 defenses, but now he is also the only 2-Time Champion in the history of the International Title.

Seeming somewhat lost after losing the title to Mox, Cassidy seems rejuvenated by his reclamation of the championship, as if it helped salve the lingering injuries he’d sustained over those 326 days, and reinvigorated him for this second run atop the division. He’s already bested John Silver and Mox’s BCC brother Claudio Castagnoli in championship defenses, but this Saturday night at The KIA Forum, he’s got to get back into the fight with the man who battered him not that long ago.

It’s obvious that Cassidy wants this fight, why else would he have shoulder-bumped Mox after the show of respect Moxley gave him after their fight, provoking the man, almost rubbing it into his face that OC had taken the belt back from the man who beat Moxley. The situation began to blow up this past Wednesday on DYNAMITE as The BCC of Moxley and Yuta met Cassidy and HOOK in a tag team battle, and not only did The BCC defeat championship pair when Yuta pinned HOOK, but Moxley ate a straight shot from an Orange Punch and did not even go down to a knee! It very clearly shook OC to see his primary weapon have no effect on the man he’s got to fight on Saturday night; will we see the same reaction if Cassidy scores with an Orange Punch in the championship match, or can it actually put the 3-Time AEW World Champion and former International Champion down?

Moxley says FULL GEAR 2023 will be a course correction, a moment where he shows the world that Cassidy is actually who Jon Moxley says he is, and he puts the 2-Time International Champion back in his place. Will this be the case when the final bell rings, or will Cassidy do what he has done repeatedly since coming to All Elite Wrestling and show Jon Moxley he is as real as The BCC?

TEXAS DEATH…

“Hangman” Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland

https://www.youtube.com/embed/jh3N9P-YOMQ?si=vzX6o3gxVyyvefob

Swerve Strickland came into this entire ordeal with former AEW World Champion Hangman Page with the intent of proving he was worthy of a top spot in the AEW pantheon. A former AEW World Tag Champion, just like Hangman, Swerve has relentlessly pursued that top tier status ever since violently parting ways with Keith Lee and nothing has deterred those aspirations, not even being locked in a coffin by Darby Allin and Sting.

So when Page and Swerve went into battle at WRESTLEDREAM, Strickland viewed it as his opportunity to snatch the spot while Hangman saw it as his moment to get back on track with his own career after spending a great deal of 2023 wrapped up in Elite business with Blackpool Combat Club and then, surprisingly, winning the ROH World Six-Man Titles from Swerve’s allies in The Mogul Embassy. But instead of Swerve proving his merits on his own, he resorted to an assist from Prince Nana and his crown to defeat Hangman, and shortly thereafter, when the opportunity arose to fight Bryan Danielson for a shot at TNT Championship, Swerve tried the same tactic. Thankfully Hangman was on the spot to stop that crime from being committed, but that only served to escalate the issues, and next thing Hangman knew, Swerve and Prince Nana were breaking into Page’s house.

That disturbing scenario is best left untouched, suffice to say that Swerve committed the heinous sin of dragging family into this issue that started as a professional jockeying for position, making it as personal as any issues experienced in All Elite Wrestling. We heard Hangman speak his mind about this, tearing Swerve down to the core with every bit of personal drama Strickland has experienced, and capping it all off by assaulting Nana since the two Texas Death combatants were forbidden from any physical content on DYNAMITE.

But that rule doesn’t extend beyond the borders of AEW…

At Pro Wrestling Revolver’s UNREAL event, as Swerve and Nana stood in the ring talking about the FULL GEAR 2023 fight, Hangman attacked out of nowhere, and promised that he would beat Swerve’s ass this Saturday night. Swerve chose to make this personal, messing with a man’s family, so much so that it led others like Penta El Zero Miedo to fight the him, but once Hangman chose to oblige Swerve and join him in the muck and mire, it was bound to get ugly. Fans have seen the former AEW World Champion in Texas Death before, he’s undefeated in that stipulation here in AEW, and that’s because he’s willing to get uglier and dirtier than anyone else when the fight comes.

Swerve led this into ugliness by his actions outside the ring, will he be able to get that ugly when the bell rings on Saturday night?

TRIOS MATCH…

Adam Copeland, Darby Allin, & Sting vs. TNT Champion Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, & Nick Wayne

https://www.youtube.com/embed/juHc9XJTbo4?si=L6rDvnovRBbJpaKn&start=153

It was a huge moment at WRESTLEDREAM when “The Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland arrived on the scene in All Elite Wrestling and stood side-by-side with Sting and Darby Allin in opposition to TNT Champion Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and sadly also Nick Wayne. In the weeks since then, we have heard Sting announce to the world that he would bring his legendary career to its end at REVOLUTION 2024, we heard Copeland repeatedly say he would not fight his best friend, we saw Ric Flair come into the equation to ride this home stretch out with “The Icon”, and we’ve watched Christian Cage continue to be a horrible human being.

But after hearing Cage after being attacked by Cage’s “sons”, after hearing Christian threaten to break his neck, Adam Copeland has agreed to ride into battle alongside Sting and Darby Allin this Saturday night at FULL GEAR 2023! We witnessed these three men get their first reps in as a trio against The Righteous and Lance Archer, and though they looked very solid in action, they are still new to the idea of working with one another. In truth, it’s not all that different from the situation with Christian’s Patriarchy, much like Darby and Sting, Christian and Luchasaurus have spent a great deal of time together and formed their own dynamic, and much like Adam Copeland, Nick Wayne is a new ingredient to that formula. Unlike the Darby/Sting/Copeland trio though, The Patriarchy all fall under the direction of Christian Cage, they do not think for themselves, they follow the direction of their erstwhile father figure, and only his direction.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/hGfLifmY6z0?si=HFu6-Iscu1i8Vz4F&start=201

Their opponents are individuals, allies, friends; it’s not a case of Darby falling into a subordinate role just because of Sting and Copeland’s seniority or being led by their direction. This will be a trio operating on the same page but making use of their varied levels of experience, pooling their assorted resources and knowledge, and applying each other’s best attributes to the fights. There is obviously a concern about the history between Christian Cage and Adam Copeland, how all that friendship, those roads traveled together, those championships held as a team, the time spent with each other’s families, how will all that play into this Trios fight at FULL GEAR 2023? All of it has to be nagging at the back of Copeland’s skull, but will it effect his ability to fight? We will all see this Saturday night…

TAG TEAM BATTLE…

The Golden Jets (Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)

***TAG TEAM TITLE OPPORTUNITY VS. TAG TEAM BREAK-UP***

https://www.youtube.com/embed/d3hoOkxd5YQ?si=b-NQTJ04s3kP99tB&start=61

It was at WRESTLEDREAM that The Young Bucks earned a future shot at the AEW World Tag Team Titles at a moment of their choosing; they did so by defeating The Lucha Brothers, The Gunns, as well as the team of HOOK and Orange Cassidy. Since that PPV event, we’ve seen Nick Jackson lose to AEW International Champion Nick Jackson, The Young Bucks & Hangman Page lose the ROH World Six-Man Championship back to The Mogul Embassy after just one successful defense, and watched The Young Bucks completely lose their cool after that championship defeat.

Over the last few months we’ve also seen Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho form one of the most unlikely pairings in AEW’s history, brought together by their mutual issues with Don Callis and his Family, putting aside their own sordid history in order to fight against Callis’ relentless onslaught. Clearly this is not a situation that sits well with the brothers Jackson; call it jealousy over the relationship with Jericho or call it caution given that the history between Jericho and The Elite created Stadium Stampede, either way it is driving a rift between Omega and The Young Bucks.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/nC_dQ89iNi0?si=AnpJRE7S0EgkGe8u&start=381

Now we now from history that The Young Bucks do not deal well with their friends having other friends, we witnessed it many moons ago with Adam Cole and reDRagon, but when it’s a man such as Jericho with whom there was so much bad blood from the first year of AEW, it’s got to be infinitely worse. That is why this match is going down, after all when there’s an issue between professional wrestlers the best place to settle it is inside the squared circle, and why not amp up the stakes when both teams have something to lose?

And what are those stakes? If The Young Bucks win, then the existence of The Golden Jets comes to an end. There will be no more team of Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho, no more fighting the good fight together against a common foe, they will just be quits as soon as that bell rings. But if The Golden Jets win, then Matt and Nick will have to say goodbye to the World Tag Team Championship match they earned at WRESTLEDREAM! That opportunity will belong to The Golden Jets, no Young Bucks championship match on the horizon, just Jericho and Omega maintaining their dynamic to challenge whoever wins Saturday night’s Ladder Match. And what of the relationship between Omega and The Young Bucks? Well it has survived a great deal, and it has endured, but they haven’t been at this point before where so much hostility has put them at odds.

Previously that was Hangman with Omega trying to keep the peace as best he could for as long as he could; only now there is no cooler head trying to prevail, just four men looking to fight, and we shall see if the friendship between The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega can survive the ordeal.

TBS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

Kris Statlander(c) vs. Julia Hart vs. Skye Blue

Kris Statlander is a breakneck pace as the TBS Champion; in the span of 174 days, Stat has successfully defended the title on 16 occasions against fourteen different women. For perspective, by that point in her historic TBS Championship reign, the longest title reign in AEW history across all divisions, Jade Cargill had only defended the title eight times while Orange Cassidy, the most successful champion across all divisions in AEW, was also heading towards his 17th defense against Dralistico.

This Saturday at FULL GEAR 2023, Statlander heads into her 17th defense against two foes she’s already beaten in one-on-one contests, but who she now must contend with in a Three Way situation. To make matters more intriguing, there is an entire other dynamic between Julia Hart and Skye Blue that has little to do with Statlander. Ever since Hart misted Skye, the latter has taken a turn towards the dark, so much so that there was absolutely a concern she’d walk through the doors of The House of Black and be lost to her friends forever. Though Skye would repeatedly rebuke the handshake of help of the TBS Champion, when the moment came between choosing between Willow Nightingale and Julia Hart, Skye turned and sprayed her own blue mist into the face of The House of Black’s Hart.

So with each woman’s position set, the light of Statlander, the dark of Julia, and the chaotic middle of Blue, they will now collide on Saturday night with the TBS Championship on the line! This will mark the first defense for Stat that’s involved multiple challengers, will that be the ticket to ending this potentially historic reign? Or will the strife between Julia Hart and Skye Blue be the key to the champion retaining her championship?

AEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP LADDER MATCH…

Big Bill & Ricky Starks(c) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. LFI (Dralistico & Rush) vs. The House of Black (Brody King & Malakai Black)

A Ladder Match, only one other time in the history of AEW have the World Tag Team Titles been at stake in a Ladder match, and that was the night The Young Bucks beat Jurassic Express to start their defenseless 28-day second reign, as well as the night Christian Cage first stabbed Jack Perry in the back.

But four teams fighting to climb the rungs to championship status? That is a whole new ballgame, and one likely to end up in plenty of pain, suffering, and punishment! Just yesterday the AEW faithful witnessed the chaos that erupted between these eight men, especially Dax and Rush as they battled to a No Contest, now put that into a situation with no rules, the freedom to use weapons, and with a title at stake. This will be an intensely physical situation, and even though Ricky Starks is the one who laid the stipulation on the table, not necessarily the best one for the champions to retain their titles. They may not have to worry about a pinfall or submission happening to someone else to lose their status, but Big Bill and Ricky Starks constantly have to be concerned about stopping someone else climbing the ladder. There are six bodies besides theirs all with the same goal, but only one has to ascend to the top of the ladder and pull down the belts.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/MJWEFWa96Xo?si=Y6I9IAqzW7_FxyFT

Can the defending champions survive six other opponents, as well as the Ladder itself, or will they be hoisted on their own petard?

Tonight’s episode of AEW RAMPAGE was broadcast live from the Oakland Arena in Oakland, CA!

Your broadcast team was Nigel McGuinness and Tony Schiavone!

It’s Friday night and you know what that means!

AEW World Tag Team Champion “Absolute” Ricky Starks (with Big Bill)

vs.

LFI’s Preston Vance (with Jose the Assistant)!

Big Bill joined the broadcast booth for this match.

Vance pushed Starks into the corner turnbuckles. Preston Vance stomped on Starks. Preston Vance followed up with a big pump kick to Ricky Starks. Preston whipped Starks into the steel guardrail. Starks reversed things, ramming Preston into the steel ring post!

Starks suplexed Preston onto the entrance ramp! Back in the ring, Vance regained momentum by planting Starks with a massive spinebuster! Starks fired back with discus lariat. Preston tried for this full nelson, but Ricky countered with a cradle for a near fall.

Big Bill jumped up onto the apron and distracted Preston Vance. Starks seized the opportunity to spear Preston Vance and pin him! The AEW World Tag Champs double teamed Preston until Rush and Dralistico ran to the ring to even up the odds for their LFI partner Preston Vance. Big Bill and Ricky Starks quicky retreated out of the ring!

Renee Paquette was backstage with Chris Jericho!

Jericho: “Takeshita has been on a roll lately. He’s one of the best pro wrestlers in the world today. But you’re facing one of the best pro wrestlers in the history of the business. Takeshita, this Sunday, in Tokyo, I am going to get my revenge on you. I’m going to teach you a lesson at DDT in Tokyo. You’re facing Chris Jericho. I’ve done it all. And Takeshita, as good as you are, I am better. And I’m going to show you what it’s like to be in the ring with an angry and pissed off Chris Jericho. This Sunday in Tokyo, Japan, Takeshita, I am going to get my revenge on you!”

Lexy Nair was backstage with Don Callis and Prince Nana!

Nana: “Lexi, I’m doing my due diligence. When you dig deep into your pockets, Don, what happens?”

Callis: “Sammy is on the shelf. Jericho is going to get taken care of by Takeshita. And I have made a deal with Prince Nana to rent the services of “the Machine” Brian Cage to team up with my family this Wednesday in the Man Who Erased His Name Street Fight!

Lexy Nair was backstage with Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, Karen Jarrett, Satnam Singh, and Sonjay Dutt.

Jay Lethal: “I’m going to prove to the world that I outclass ROH World Champion Eddie Kingston in every way.”

Ortiz walked onto the scene!

Ortiz: “You had a lot to say about me last week. How about you say it to my face?”

Karen Jarrett: “If I were you, I’d watch what you say.”

Jay Lethal: “You might get jumped.”

Ortiz: “See, Jay, you need all these people to fight for you.”

Ortiz swung at Jay Lethal. Satnam Singh grabbed Ortiz and planted him hard on a cargo case!

Red Velvet vs. Ruby Soho (with Saraya)!

Tony Schiavone reminded us that Ruby said she wanted to do this alone, so Saraya went to the back.

Ruby got right in the face of Red Velvet. Ruby stomped on Red Velvet’s foot and then rammed her with a shoulder block. Red Velvet retaliated with a big leg lariat, staggering Ruby into the corner. Red Velvet worked over Ruby with body shots.

Red Velvet rammed Ruby with double knees and followed up with a standing moonsault for a near fall. Ruby hoisted Red Velvet on the top rope and then rocked her with a running kick. Ruby nailed Red Velvet with two consecutive back drop drivers!

“Ruby is relentless!” said Tony Schiavone.

An AEW production assistant delivered flowers to Ruby Soho during the middle of the match.

“Apparently she’s got a secret admirer,” said Tony Schiavone.

Red Velvet ducked punches from Ruby. Red Velvet cracked Ruby with a kick and pinned her!

“Clearly the distraction from the bouquet of flowers played into this match,” said Nigel.

“Wow! What a win for Red Velvet!” replied Tony Schiavone.

The Kingdom—Matt Taven & Mike Bennett (with Roderick Strong)

vs.

Two Local Wrestlers!

The Kingdom made short order of the competition, finishing them off with the Neck Check and grabbing a decisive victory. After the match, Roderick Strong ripped off his neck brace, jumped in the ring, hit a back breaker on one of the Kingdom’s downed opponents, and then ran back to his wheelchair!

Lexy Nair was backstage with Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard and Angelo Parker!

Garcia: “I am really sick of being sad. I went through the AEW roster page. I found Andrade El Idolo. This Saturday on Collision, let’s get it on!”

Ruby Soho and Saraya walked by. Saraya was clearly upset with the bouquet of flowers that Ruby was sent. Saraya looked at Matt Menard and said, “We’ve got big problems.” Menard agreed!

After a commercial break, Lexy Nair was backstage with The Kingdom and Roderick Strong!

Action Andretti and Darius Martin interrupted. Action said last time the four of them wrestled, he and Darius beat the Kingdom. Roderick Strong said he found his first victim. “Darius!” he shouted, and pointed at Darius Martin.

Main Event Time!

AAA Cruiserweight Champion Komander (with Alex Abrahantes)

& AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo

vs.

FTR—Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood!

Komander swiped at Dax’s thigh with a stiff kick. Dax fired back with a snap mare and a shoulder block. Komander dropkicked Dax Harwood. El Hijo del Vikingo and Cash Wheeler tagged in for their respective teams.

Vikingo, unabated, flipped off the top rope into a hurracanrana on Cash. Vikingo rocketed out of the ring with a tope suicida straight at Cash. Vikingo’s momentum sent him crashing headfirst into the commentary team’s table!

FTR used tandem offense in the ring to double team Vikingo. Komander and Vikingo utilized their own tandem offense with a fiery flurry. Vikingo dropkicked Dax from the top rope. Komander took down Dax with a hurracanrana for a near fall!

The fans chanted “This is awesome! This is awesome! This is awesome!”

Dax Harwood superplexed Vikingo, but Vikingo countered midflight and landed on top of Dax. Vikingo and Komander hit stereo 630 splashes on FTR for a near fall! Dax countered a shooting star press from Vikingo with a piledriver for a near fall!

Dax used a slingshot powerbomb on Vikingo, but Komander was there to break up the pin attempt. Komander walked the ropes, but Dax dodged it and FTR smashed Komander with the Big Rig, scoring the pin on Komander!

All four competitors embraced after the match.

“Pro wrestling at its best,” said Nigel.

After the match, the House of Black were seen watching the match backstage.

This Saturday night, at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT, All Elite Wrestling presents the biggest edition of COLLISION thus far as AEW World Champion MJF puts his title on the line against former champion Kenny Omega in their very first meeting inside the squared circle! But it’s more than just the championship at stake, with 343 days as champion to his reign, MJF is just four days away from breaking Omega’s 346 day record as longest reigning champion of all-time. This is history in the making, but it’s not all that’s going down on Saturday night! Abadon will challenge Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Championship, Jay White will take on AR Fox, and The House of Black are back in action after all the damage they caused a week ago!

COLLISION is coming to you this Saturday night on TNT, beginning at 8pm ET/7pm CT, so before the night begins swing over to the official AEW YouTube channel for highlights from this week’s episodes of DYNAMITE and RAMPAGE, the latest editions of CONTROL CENTER, and so much more!

AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

MJF(c) vs. Kenny Omega

https://www.youtube.com/embed/wl2_9Gokt7M?si=7w1VQvwUdAEkbDY9

343 days; for 343 days Maxwell Jacob Friedman has reigned over All Elite Wrestling as the World Champion, just three weeks shy of completing a full year as the top guy in the company, and three days away from breaking the current record of 346 days held by Kenny Omega. That record, and MJF’s egotistical need to be viewed as the greatest champion of all-time, is why these men are heading for a collision on COLLISION this Saturday night!

It wasn’t Kenny Omega who came seeking Maxwell Jacob Friedman, it wasn’t Kenny who first broached the subject when they two men hadn’t so much as shared the same room over the past four years much less the same ring, it was MJF who sought out Kenny. It was MJF who whispered “13 days” into Kenny’s ear, as if to rub it in Omega’s face that he was going to break the record, and perhaps even thinking Kenny would do nothing about it.

If that was MJF’s thought, well he was dead wrong, because Omega stepped onto the stage following MJF’s fight with Juice Robinson this past Wednesday, and laid the challenge on the table. Would MJF be the kind of champion who would risk it all, knowing he’s got a title fight with Jay White already lined up at FULL GEAR 2023, and give Omega an opportunity to defend his streak? MJF may be a scumbag, but he’s also got an ego that would not allow the moment to pass him by, that wouldn’t let the opportunity to cement himself as the greatest AEW World Champion just slip away. If Max hadn’t accepted the challenge, when Wednesday morning came and he woke up as the longest reigning AEW World Champion in history, he would know there’s an asterisk because he didn’t fight Kenny Omega.

Once MJF made the choice to whisper into Kenny Omega’s ear, he made the choice to take on a fight with Kenny Omega, and risk seeing his title reign end before the 346-day streak was broken. In confronting Kenny, MJF added yet another target on his back, joining those already placed there by Jay White, The Gunns, Juice Robinson, Samoa Joe, and Wardlow. The World Champion is always the most wanted man in any sport, but MJF may have more on this plate than he can possibly eat, and that was before “The Cleaner” was heaped on there as well.

This is the biggest match in COLLISION’s short history, one of the biggest in All Elite Wrestling history, and it is happening on TNT this Saturday night! For the very first time, Kenny Omega and MJF, the AEW World Championship on the line, Omega’s 346-day record at stake, and it’s going down at the Mohegan Sun! History will be made if MJF survives this title fight, with but one World Championship record let to chase, that being the nine successful title defenses Jon Moxley accomplished during his first reign. An Omega victory would make eight for MJF, but regardless of who walks out of Connecticut as AEW World Champion, “Switchblade” Jay White will be waiting at the KIA Forum come FULL GEAR 2023!

AEW WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

Hikaru Shida(c) vs. Abadon

https://www.youtube.com/embed/7E6suZ6N2_E?si=j4n8s9ttCB1_c3eX

This past Friday night on RAMPAGE Abadon made her return to AEW competition for the first time since June 14th, and did so against some pretty stiff competition with seriously high stakes. Abadon, Willow Nightingale, Skye Blue, and Anna Jay went to battle with a shot at Hikaru Shida on the line, and when the final bell rang, it was Abadon who scored the victory! Luckily for both women, they don’t have to wait long for the championship fight because it is going down this Saturday night live on COLLISION!

This won’t be the first dance for Abadon and Shida, as a matter of fact their very first battle on the March 10, 2020 edition of AEW DARK was also Abadon’s first match in All Elite Wrestling. Unfortunately for her, Abadon’s first match also took place just days before the world shut down, and it would be several months before “The Living Dead Girl” returned to the AEW stage. When she did, Abadon would win six straight matches, positioning herself for a championship opportunity, and thus a rematch with Hikaru Shida with much greater stakes than their first encounter.

Abadon was unsuccessful in this second attempt at conquering Shida, and at claiming her first AEW championship, but it clearly served as a motivational tool because the woman would rack up 18 consecutive victories en route to facing Dr. Britt Baker in a bloody Trick or Treat match. Though Baker was the champion at the time, the title was not on the line, but given how hard the two women fought, one would never have known.

That fight with Baker was the last time Abadon competed on AEW TV before this past Friday, her fights largely taking place on DARK or DARK: ELEVATION, but now she is back in the mix, healed up and hungry, with the opportunity to be champion once more at her feet. It just feels appropriate that it is once again Hikaru Shida who will stand across the ring from Abadon this Saturday given their connection, and the fact that she is the only woman in AEW to hold two victories over Abadon.

Will this night be different than their previous encounters? Can Abadon take everything she’s learned since their last encounter in January of 2021 and put it together to end the 3rd championship reign of Hikaru Shida The pressure is on Abadon in this Fright Night Fight, will she unleash the monster on Shida

ONE-ON-ONE…

AR Fox vs. “Switchblade” Jay White

After the night the Bang Bang Gang had on Wednesday, with Juice being beaten but The Gunns getting their ROH World Tag Team Championship match at FULL GEAR 2023, it’s time for Jay White to step into the ring and fight on Saturday night! His opponent on this explosive edition of COLLISION will be a man in need of finding himself once again, someone who has been out of action since early September, the high-flying AR Fox!

Fox was last seen on the receiving end of a Jon Moxley beating on the September 6th edition of DYNAMITE, his first match after being excommunicated from The Mogul Embassy, and an opportunity to right his ship by winning the International Championship. Unfortunately Fox did not claim the title, leaving him without a championship, and with a great deal of doubt hanging over his head. Darby Allin seemed willing to forgive Fox’s transgressions, Nick Wayne less so, and perhaps that feeds into why Nick chose TNT Champion Christian Cage over his relationship with Darby.

Now that he’s back in action, it’s time for AR Fox to prove he deserves that forgiveness from Darby, and that he’s willing to do the work rather than take another Mogul Embassy type shortcut. Taking on the next challenger to the AEW World Champion is a tremendous way to begin that quest, and a victory over “King Switch” would be a huge boon to Fox’s career moving forward.

Jay White will obviously have one eye on the Omega/MJF match as it shapes White’s FULL GEAR 2023 future; will that distraction give Fox the opening he needs to score the upset victory?

THE HOUSE OF BLACK IN ACTION!

https://www.youtube.com/embed/VFoeiLUKzFY?si=EHhYic6Y9DQO6_5i&start=415

A week ago The House of Black returned to AEW in full force, laying waste to Bryan Danielson after his fight with Andrade El Idolo, taking out FTR before they could even finish their tag team fight, and coming after the rest of the Blackpool Combat Club following their championship loss to Big Bill and Ricky Starks. The chaos that resulted brought Jon Moxley back to the fight for the first time since his AEW International Championship loss to Rey Fenix, and left Ricky Starks laid out by the combined efforts of FTR and BCC.

This Saturday on COLLISION, The House of Black will be back in trios action, but no doubt the men they assaulted a week ago will have a close eye on the situation, and have to have some form of retribution in mind!

This Saturday night AEW returns to the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT for the biggest episode of COLLISION to date with Kenny Omega challenging MJF for the AEW World Championship, Shida defending her AEW Women’s World Championship against Abadon, Jay White in action against AR Fox, The House of Black, and more! Prior to the night getting started, be sure to visit the official AEW YouTube channel for highlights from this week’s episodes of DYNAMITE and RAMPAGE, the latest editions of CONTROL CENTER, and much, much more!

**CONTAINS SPOILERS**

Tonight’s AEW COLLISION was broadcast live from the Huntington Center in Toledo, OH!

Nigel McGuinness, Kevin Kelly and Tony Schiavone were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

It’s Saturday night and you know what that means! Saturday night’s alright for fighting!

The “Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland came out to the ring to kick off the show!

Adam Copeland: “This week on Dynamite, Christian Cage had a whole lot of things to say. In his deluded mind, I think he actually believes them. I had to come out here and address what he had to say…”

Christian Cage’s music began to play!

The TNT Champion walked onto the ramp with Nick Wayne, Luchasaurus, and a team of AEW security!

Christian Cage: “You gotta lot of nerve and you really proved my point. You really think you’re that special, huh? You just walk out here on Collision, my show, by the way, take up this opening segment while I’m in the main event. That doesn’t sit right with me, so I brought my security detail out here because I’m sure you’re upset with what I said. But this security is for your protection, not mine.

“I’m just going to cut to the chase here. Why don’t you nicely step out of that ring, walk back up that ramp, and hit the bricks, because you see what’s going to happen if you stick around much longer here in AEW? It’s going to be like you’re from Toledo, Ohio, because it’s like you’ll be known for nothing.

“So, get to stepping or I’ll have my security team remove you. Just like I had the BCC escorted from the arena so there won’t be any funny business tonight with Bryan Danielson. I want a straight up fight with Bryan Danielson, and I know that’s not going to happen if you’re here and they’re here. I’m going to prove what I have known all along, as the TNT Champion, I am without a doubt the best wrestler in the world.”

“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson walked down the ramp!

Danielson: “Whoa, whoa, whoa. You know, Christian Cage, I’m happy to hear that you want a fair fight because I’ve got some news for you. I’ve talked to Tony Khan and in the interest of having a fair fight, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne have been banned from ringside.

“And now we’re going to find out between you and me, who is the better man and who deserves to be the TNT Champion!”

“Absolute” Ricky Starks and Big Bill—the AEW Tag Team Champions, walked down the ring next!

Ricky Starks: “No, no, no. I’m looking at a bunch of guys who are taking up my time, and Big Bill’s time. So, excuse me for breaking up this little bash here but I’ll be damned if I let it go any longer. And truthfully speaking, I have no respect for you Adam Copeland, I have no respect for you Bryan. But I have respect for you, Christian, the only AEW Champion who stands in this ring until, well, right now.”

Ricky Starks stepped into the ring.

Ricky Starks: “Bryan Danielson, don’t think I forgot about the things I had to do to deal with you and the BCC and all this other crap. The difference between you and me, Bryan, is I’m actually a real AEW champion. So, if you two don’t like what I said, how about you guys get with me and my friends and we can do the damn thing right now, if it’s a fight you’re looking for.”

FTR—Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood—walked to the ring next!

Cash Wheeler: “Seven days ago AEW medical gave us an option. They said we didn’t have to go out and defend the titles because we are banged up. But the show must go on, so we said we’d defend the titles. Obviously, that was the wrong choice. But that doesn’t make you, Ricky and Big Bill, the best tag team on the planet. That is reserved for FTR.

“So maybe we don’t get an immediate rematch. That’s fine. We will earn a rematch. But titles or not, you gotta now we’re coming for those necks.”

Dax Harwood: “Everybody is banged up. We all gotta work and we made a decision and last week, one night only, you were better than FTR. And I heard you and your friends wanted a fight. And Saturday night’s alright for a fight, Toledo.”

Danielson: “And speaking of that, Christian Cage, why don’t you and I do our match right now!”

Security charged at Danielson, Copeland, and FTR! Luchasaurus, Nick Wayne, and Christian Cage high tailed it out of the ring and Danielson, Copeland, and FTR cleaned house on the security!

That’s the story of my life and I am here to help guide people in AEW. So, if you’re in the locker room and you want to become champion, come find the woman that helps make men.”

Action Andretti walked onto the set.

After the match, “Switchblade” Jay White placed a ring on Juice’s finger. The Gunns held up Christopher Daniels and Juice clocked Daniels with the lethal left hand!

Juice Robinson: “MJF, you think you’re the only man in the world who can knock a guy out with a ring on his fist? I’ve been knocking losers out like you for years with nothing on this hand. In fact, this ring right here, I got from TJ Maxx. It ain’t the ring when it comes to the Stray Bullet. It’s the left hand I got, and I don’t need anything on it. Wednesday after I win your little battle royal, I’m gonna take that ring from you Max and then we’re gonna take a trip to the local pawn shop. And we’re gonna pawn that and the Bang Bang Gang will go on a vacation.”

“Switchblade” Jay White: “Look Max, when you wonder why this is all happening to you, you have one boy to blame and that is MJF. You see, MJF, you brought this all on yourself when you jumped me from behind in your devil mask with your paid off gimp squad because we all know you have no friends.

“So now your world is falling apart, and it starts when Juice takes your precious little ring, and it culminates at Full Gear when your world crumbles for good when I am officially crowned the AEW World Heavyweight Champion! Guns up!”

A vignette aired for Dustin Rhodes!

Dustin Rhodes: “Well Houston, we have a problem! Because I am the storm. ‘The Natural’ Dustin Rhodes is coming back to Texas where he belongs. And Dustin Rhodes today, in 2023, is as good as he’s ever been. And this Wednesday, I am coming to win the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal. And then MJF, I’m coming for that diamond ring, but more importantly, a chance for a lifelong dream of mine—to become the AEW World Heavyweight Champion. My path to glory starts this Wednesday night on TBS where it all began and where legends live forever!”

Lexy Nair was backstage with Nick Wayne! Lexy informed him that this Wednesday he would have a sit down interview with Jim Ross and Nick Wayne’s mom!

Billy Gunn: “We have been Trios Champs for 48 days!”

Max Caster: “I just hope MJF sees all the hard work we’ve been putting in.”

Billy Gunn: “We have to work on your relationship skills because they’re absolutely rotten.”

Anthony Bowens: “The Twitter stuff, it’s all a bit aggressive. We can make friends and we can help you make friends.”

Billy and Anthony coached Caster with a few pointers and told him to try them on Renee for practice. Caster asked Renee about the “Oral Sessions” and totally offended her.

Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Daniel Garcia and Jake Hager crashed the interview.

Menard: “Real smooth, idiot.”

But saying that, Davis being out gives me an opportunity to prove that on my own two feet, I am one of the best professional wrestlers in this world. There is a man in this company that I consider to be the measuring stick. MJF: “I’ll be the bigger man here. Jay, I know you because I was you. You are the guy who doesn’t give a damn about anybody else. You will use and abuse people. You and I both know you don’t care about any of those three in the Bullet Club Gold. You are using them, and I know because that is right out of the MJF playbook.

“For the first time in my life I have earned the respect of these fans. Now Jay White there are two things in this life I care about: my brother, Adam Cole, who is out right now injured. And that’s my cross to bear. And there is that title you’re holding. You call it a belt. That’s not a belt. That is my livelihood. That is my legacy. Because when you win the AEW World Title, that makes you the best wrestler in the world.

“Jay, if you weren’t surrounded by those idiots, I would have already taken back what’s mine. Jay White, I know how talented you are. I am sure someday you will join the very exclusive club of being an AEW World Champion, however, that day is not today. Do you understand me? So, I’m going to ask you to do the hard thing for once in your life. Dig deep, be a man, show some dignity to this sport, to AEW and to these fans, and give me back what you have not yet earned.”

Jay White: “You’re just coming out here and asking me to give it back to you. How is that earning it? Thank you for coming out and asking me nicely instead of jumping me from behind in your cute little devil mask.

“But you’re just asking for this. You can’t just ask for this. You must earn it. You must earn it, officially. And you have a match coming up November 18th at Full Gear. You’ll get your chance, but you’ll fail. But if you can’t be patient, you could just come down and take it.

“But something tells me with us five here, and you don’t have no friends, but if you can find three friends who can tolerate you, you come up with your four against the Bang Bang Gang, and if you win, maybe you’ll get the Bang Bang Belt back.”

Wednesday night began the final few days before WRESTLEDREAM goes down this Sunday night in Seattle. Fans learned that Adam Cole suffered an injury at GRAND SLAM 2023 that necessitated pulling himself from the ROH World Tag Team Championship match, but as seen above, rather than vacate the belts, MJF will fight The Righteous himself. In addition, through their contract signing, we all witnessed the kind of aggression Hangman Page is bringing to his fight with Swerve Strickland:

https://www.youtube.com/embed/6cOQ4haG0Rs?si=S9hg9eCKa_d0cfH6

But that wasn’t all; Rey Fenix defeated Jeff Jarrett to retain his AEW International Championship while Nick Jackson defeated both Claudio Castagnoli and Brian Cage to earn the next shot at said title. Success wasn’t universal for The Young Bucks though as Matt Jackson ate the pinfall in his Four Way PPV preview bout. A lot of the pieces for WRESTLEDREAM fell into their final place, and that will continue this Friday night on RAMPAGE! The bouts begin at 10pm ET/9pm CT on TNT, as well as at AEWPlus.com for our international audiences, so visit the official AEW YouTube channel before RAMPAGE begins to see highlights from this week’s DYNAMITE, as well as previous episodes of RAMPAGE and COLLISION, plus THE CONTROL CENTER, and much, much more!

NJPW STRONG OPENWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH…

Eddie Kingston(c) vs. Rocky Romero

It’s been two years since the last time Rocky Romero and Eddie Kingston collided inside the squared circle, a fight won by Kingston, but not one in which any championships were involved. They celebrated July 4th with NJPW STRONG this year, teaming up to fight, and defeat, BULLET CLUB’s KENTA and Gedo in tag action one day before Eddie beating KENTA to earn the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship.

This Friday night on RAMPAGE the circle comes back around as, after being Eddie’s ally two months ago, Rocky steps up as the next challenger for the NJPW STRONG Openweight title, and just two days before Kingston is set to defend both it and the ROH World Championship against Katsuyori Shibata. Should Kingston fall to Rocky, then obviously only the ROH World Championship would be on the line at WRESTLEDREAM, but win or lose, with a foe like Romero gunning for him on Friday, what kind of condition will Eddie be in on Sunday?

AEW WORLD TRIOS CHAMPIONSHIP OPEN CHALLENGE…

The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens, Daddy Ass, & Max Caster)(c)

vs.

Brother Zay & The Hardys (Jeff & Matt)

Ever since defeating The House of Black to claim the World Trios Championship titles, The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass have made it a point to be defending champions, taking on anyone willing to step up to the challenge, defending the belts on three occasions in the 33 days since ALL IN: LONDON. This week on RAMPAGE there will be another trio who answers the call to arms, forming a unit for the very first time, Brother Zay and The Hardys will take on the World Trios Champs!

Isiah Kassidy has been under the tutelage of Matt Hardy for quite some time now, both through good and bad, meaning they’ve united on plenty of instances, and there have been a few multi-man instances like The Firm Deletion, but this is the first time it’s just been Matt, Jeff, and Brother Zay.

The Hardys know plenty about being champions, though they’ve yet to achieve that here in All Elite Wrestling which is additional common ground with Zay, but that could all change this Friday night on RAMPAGE! Will the Scissor Party be brought to an end?

TITLE TUESDAY OPPORTUNITY…

Ruby Soho vs. Hikaru Shida

This could have some very interesting ramifications; for the very first time Ruby Soho and Hikaru Shida will lock-up in a one-on-one match and to the victor comes an AEW Women’s World Championship opportunity on DYNAMITE: TITLE TUESDAY on October 10th. So there is a possibility that, for the second time in as many weeks, Saraya will have to defend her title against someone who has stood by her side as an Outcast! Difference between Toni Storm and Ruby Soho though is that Ruby is still loyal to Saraya, making that potential title bout rife with potential drama.

The other possibility is that Hikaru Shida earns the opportunity to become the first 3-Time Women’s World Champion and beat the woman who ended her second reign in the process. Though Saraya may have been the one to leave ALL IN: LONDON as the new champion, it wasn’t the woman defending her title who she pinned but rather Toni Storm. That also makes this fight with Ruby one step away from revenge on Saraya, and one step away from Shida redeeming the indirect loss of her championship.

Will we see the remaining Outcasts have wedge drive in-between them, or will Shida get her shot at redemption for what happened at Wembley?

THE RIGHTEOUS IN ACTION!

After learning that their ROH World Tag Team Championship match at WRESTLEDREAM will now be a handicap match against AEW World Champion MJF, Dutch and Vincent have to be quite ecstatic about their impending Sunday night fight.

Before they get their though, The Righteous will be in tag team action on RAMPAGE, one final tune-up before their date with destiny on pay-per-view! There has to be a great deal of confidence on their part knowing they’ll have a man advantage in the championship fight, hopefully it doesn’t make them overconfident in this Friday night fight and leave them ripe for an upset.
