A Dose Of Colemanism: It’s Only A Season

This is a time to show thanks and give appreciation, but I know this Thanksgiving will be different for many people.

Gatherings are smaller and times have changed for the moment. But even though it may not be what we’re used to during the holiday season, let’s keep in mind what a season means. A season is a point in time that comes and goes. Just like winter, spring, summer and fall.

2020 is a year we will never forget. However, it is also just a season. I really feel from the bottom of my heart that we have passed the hardest part of the season.

I have friends who work for Amazon, and one of them started working there during the October-through-December season. This is the busiest part of Amazon’s year due to Christmas. He was telling me how hard the work days were and all the long hours, the overtime that was requested and needed to get through the holiday seasons.

I listened and understood his frustration and sense of being overwhelmed. Then I explained something to him that I realized. I said, “Yeah, man, but once you get through this season everything else is a piece of cake.”

He was pretty much thrown into the deep end, but we all know the Christmas season doesn’t last forever. Because of all the work he had to do and things he was forced to learn at a fast pace, he was able to use the experience of a difficult season to make the rest of the seasons enjoyable.

This season, give thanks and show gratitude, love and kindness, especially to those we would like to visit but can’t this year. This season may have been a hard one, but understand that it only gets better from here. Happy Thanksgiving!

Just something to think about. I call it a dose of Colemanism.
