Mansoor def. Jake Atlas
Another Friday night, another Mansoor victory on 205 Live.
Mansoor’s undefeated run on the purple brand is made all the more impressive by his ability to win matches in different ways, having outlasted Raul Mendoza in a slugfest last week and narrowly edged Jake Atlas in a mat-wrestling clinic this week.
Atlas was hobbled when he landed awkwardly on his leg early in the match, and Mansoor took immediate advantage by diving at the back of his knee with a savage chop block.
Atlas, who has picked up recent victories over Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and Tony Nese while splitting his time between 205 Live and NXT, nearly dealt Mansoor his first loss when he blasted him with a unique neckbreaker, but Mansoor kicked out in the nick of time.
Mansoor stuck to a submission-based attack for most of the bout, and though he couldn’t get Atlas to tap to his barrage of painful maneuvers, he nevertheless turned a leg hold into a unique pinning combination in the blink of an eye, stunning Atlas by claiming the 1-2-3.
Atlas accepted Mansoor’s handshake after the bell, but he appeared to throw away Mansoor’s hand, and the two Superstars continued to lock eyes as Atlas exited up the ramp.
Curt Stallion & Ever-Rise def. Ariya Daivari & The Bollywood Boyz
If there was any lingering tension between Curt Stallion and the duo of Chase Parker and Matt Martel, they certainly didn’t show it during their victory in a thrilling Six-Man Tag Team Match.
As for their opponents, Ariya Daivari seemed somewhat annoyed to be teaming with The Bollywood Boyz, as he immediately began barking orders at Samir and Sunil, insisted that he start the match and told them that he wasn’t going to tag them into the bout.
