Aleister Black may have won the battle against Johnny Gargano at TakeOver: WarGames II, while also absolving Gargano of his “sins,” but the war rages on. As announced by NXT General Manager William Regal, the fierce rivals will settle their hot-blooded score inside a steel cage on the Dec. 19 edition of WWE NXT.
Regal made the announcement after The Dutch Destroyer crashed NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa’s post-WarGames II victory speech on Dec. 5 to issue a challenge for the black-and-gold brand’s top prize, prompting a displeased Gargano to remind him of their unfinished business. After Ciampa deviously suggested that the two handle their issues inside a steel cage, to which both Superstars agreed, Regal made the bout official.
Will unforgiving steel provide the perfect setting for The Dutch Destroyer to absolve Gargano of his sins for a second time and send a grisly message to The Blackheart, whom Black will challenge for the title at TakeOver: Phoenix? Or will Johnny Wrestling be the one leaving with the last laugh?
