On a night the WWE Universe was poised to celebrate the life and career of two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair on his 70th birthday, Batista saw fit to not only spoil the festivities, but viciously assault Flair to get the attention of his former Evolution ally, Triple H.
As The Game and Stephanie McMahon unveiled a special custom World Heavyweight Title for the 16-time World Champion, cameras backstage captured The Animal storming Flair’s dressing room and, behind a closed door, brutalizing “The Nature Boy.” Batista then dragged Flair into the backstage hallway, looked straight into the camera and said, “Hey Hunter. Do I have your attention now?”
Triple H rushed to the locker room area, but The Animal had already left the scene.
It seems like this incident was spurred, at least in part, by an altercation between Triple H and Batista during the 1,000th episode of SmackDown, where — during an Evolution reunion — The Animal reminded The Cerebral Assassin that he had never defeated him one-on-one.
