Celebrities dazzle on the red carpet as they attend the world premiere of ‘Mr. Loverman’ at the Tribeca Festival

The red carpet at the Tribeca Festival was abuzz with excitement on Wednesday, June 12th, as the stellar cast of Bernardine Evaristo’s celebrated novel “Mr Loverman” made their grand entrance. Adapted from Evaristo’s acclaimed 2013 book, this eagerly awaited TV series promises viewers eight enthralling episodes, set to debut later this year on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Located at the AMC 19th St, East 6, the event saw luminaries of both screen and page grace the carpet, including the talented Lennie James, Ariyon Bakare, and Tamara Lawrance. Among the distinguished attendees were director Hong Khaou, screenwriter Nathaniel Price, producer Irma Innis, and executive producer Hannah Price.

“MR. LOVERMAN” SYNOPSIS

Based on the novel by Booker winner Bernardine EvaristoMr. Loverman is the story of Barry (Lennie James); a 74-year-old, Antiguan-born, exuberant Hackney personality known for his dapper taste. His wife Carmel (Sharon D Clarke) suspects he’s been cheating. Little does she know what’s really going on: a secret, passionate affair with his best friend and soulmate, Morris (Ariyon Bakare). Now facing his final chapter, Barry has big choices to make that will force his family to question their futures.

Mr. Loverman is executive produced by Faye Ward, Hannah Farrell and Hannah Price for Fable Pictures, and Jo McClellan for the BBC. Lennie James and Hong Khaou are also executive producers and Nathaniel Price is also associate producer. Fable Pictures is a SPT-backed company. Sony Pictures Television are distributing the series internationally.
