“Paint the Night” Parade Returns to Light Up Disneyland Resort’s 70th Anniversary

May 22, 2025

One of Disneyland’s most beloved nighttime spectacles is back. The dazzling “Paint the Night” Parade makes its vibrant return to Disneyland Park for a limited time beginning May 16, 2025, as part of the Disneyland Resort’s 70th Anniversary Celebration.

Blending over one million LED lights, immersive music, and stunning float technology, “Paint the Night” is a high-energy celebration of Disney and Pixar stories, characters, and creativity. This special return includes the reintroduction of Anna and Elsa from Frozen, who will appear for the first time since the parade’s original debut in 2015.

A Tech-Driven Spectacle Like No Other

“Paint the Night” isn’t just a parade — it’s a glowing work of art. Featuring custom Disney-designed strobes, video panels, and costumes powered by over 200 universes of control, the parade’s floats and performers become moving canvases of light and magic.

The soundtrack includes a custom version of Owl City’s “When Can I See You Again”, alongside iconic Disney and Pixar scores and a nod to the original Main Street Electrical Parade. A brand-new arrangement of the 70th anniversary anthem “Celebrate Happy” adds an exclusive touch.

Parade Highlights and Fan-Favorite Floats

Here are just a few of the parade’s luminous highlights:

  • Tinker Bell & Peter Pan: Kicking off the parade, Tinker Bell dons a fresh new outfit and flies high above a float lit with over 850,000 points of light and the 70th anniversary logo.
  • “Monsters, Inc.” Float: Mike and Sulley ride alongside five animated, LED-covered doors, created with Pixar’s help, glowing with 17,000 points of light.
