On last night’s episode of WWE’s Monday Night RAW we saw the show kick off with The Shield addressing the WWE Universe for their “farewell address.”
During their promo Roman thanked both Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose for having back when he needed it, and then hyped Rollins match with Lesnar at WrestleMania 35. Roman then stated that, “if there are three men who need to handle their business, it’s us.” Roman then addressed Dean Ambrose, and said that he has some other real business to take care of also saying, “I don’t know what it is, but good luck.” Roman then went on to say that he doesn’t know what Dean is going to do, but that’s what makes Ambrose unpredictable.
However, for those hoping that Ambrose’s “next business” is going to be WWE related, it still doesn’t seem to be the case. On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reports that as of Monday night the word is that Dean is still sticking to his initial decision to leave the company once his contract expires.
Meltzer said:
“Last night after the show I checked and it’s like this is not an angle, he’s really done.”
WWE’s acknowledgment of Dean Ambrose’s decision to leave the company, and the fact that they keep bringing it up has left many to believe that this is part of a storyline, as it it so different from how the company has handled other departures in the past.
Despite fans believing the contract situation with Dean Ambrose to be a work, it sounds like he is indeed still planning to leave WWE regardless of the company’s attempts to change his mind.
