With Episode 12, fittingly titled “Epilogue,” now wrapped, Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers is wasting no time setting up its next chapter. The series, which was previously confirmed as a split-cour release, will officially return with Cour 2 in July 2026, continuing its modern revival of a classic legacy.
The Story Isn’t Slowing Down
If anything, that “Epilogue” felt less like an ending and more like a launchpad.
The first cour reintroduced audiences to the world of the Samurai Troopers with updated animation, sharper character designs, and a tone that balances nostalgia with a more contemporary edge. Now, with the second cour on the way, the stakes are only expected to escalate as the larger narrative begins to fully unfold.
Familiar Faces Enter the Fight
Cour 2 isn’t just continuing the story — it’s expanding the roster in a meaningful way.
Fans of the original series will immediately recognize the arrival of key Samurai Troopers, now officially brought into the modern adaptation with a strong lineup of voice talent. Toma Hashiba is voiced by Hirofumi Nojima, while Seiji Date is brought to life by Ryotaro Okiayu. Shin Mouri joins the fight with Nozomu Sasaki behind the role, and Shu Layfang rounds out the group with Tomohiro Nishimura lending his voice.

Rather than feeling like simple callbacks, these additions signal a deeper commitment to honoring the franchise’s roots while pushing the story forward for a new generation.
A Tease of What’s to Come
Alongside the announcement, a special teaser trailer was released, giving fans a first glimpse at what Cour 2 will bring. While details remain tightly under wraps, the footage hints at larger-scale battles, heightened emotional stakes, and a continuation of the series’ blend of action and character-driven storytelling.
A Visual Celebration of the Finale
To mark the end of the first cour, character designer Yuhei Murota also shared a commemorative illustration, celebrating both the journey so far and what lies ahead.

What This Return Means for the Franchise
Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers isn’t just revisiting a classic — it’s actively rebuilding it.
The split-cour format gives the series room to breathe, allowing both longtime fans and newcomers to invest in the characters and world before pushing into its next major arc. With Cour 2 arriving this summer, the real test will be how the series builds on its foundation and delivers on the promise of something bigger.
And if that finale was any indication, the calm before the storm is officially over.
