Disney is scaling up D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in a major way for 2026, turning what was already a flagship fan convention into a full-scale, multi-day — and now multi-location — experience across Anaheim.

Set for August 14–16, 2026, the event will once again anchor itself at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center, but this year’s rollout makes it clear Disney is thinking far beyond a traditional convention footprint. From expanded programming and immersive show floor activations to citywide celebrations and new ticketing tiers, D23 2026 is positioning itself as a complete fan destination.

A Bigger, More Immersive D23 Experience

At its core, D23 2026 is built around access — more of it, in more ways.

Disney is promising its largest and most innovative show floor yet, alongside more than 50 panels and presentations, extended hours, expanded shopping, and interactive experiences spanning film, television, streaming, sports, and theme parks.

The goal is clear. This is no longer just about announcements. It is about immersion, participation, and giving fans multiple entry points into Disney’s ecosystem depending on what they care about most.

Honda Center Showcases Anchor the Weekend

The event’s structure remains anchored by three marquee presentations at Honda Center:

  • Friday: Disney Entertainment Showcase
  • Saturday: Disney Experiences Showcase
  • Sunday: Disney Legends Award Ceremony

These presentations continue to serve as the headline drivers of the weekend, bringing together major announcements, talent appearances, and big-picture reveals across Disney’s divisions.

Disneyland Kickoff and Family Programming

Before the main weekend begins, Disney is launching D23 Day at Disneyland Resort on August 13, featuring a Disney Legends Cavalcade, complimentary Mickey Mouse ear hats (while supplies last), and additional in-park experiences.

Families will also see the return of Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party at Disney California Adventure Park, offering kid-focused entertainment, character appearances, and interactive activities.

Programming Highlights Include Panels, Documentary Premiere and Mousequerade

Across the weekend, the Anaheim Convention Center will host 50+ panels and presentations, offering behind-the-scenes access and conversations with the creatives behind Disney’s biggest franchises.

Key programming elements include:

Mousequerade remains an important part of the fan experience, but within the broader programming slate rather than the centerpiece.

Show Floor Expands With New and Returning Experiences

The 2026 show floor is where Disney is putting serious emphasis.

Returning experiences include:

  • Disney Experiences and Walt Disney Imagineering showcases
  • Worlds of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic
  • Disney+ and Hulu activations
  • Expanded retail and product experiences

New additions this year include:

  • Mundo Pixar: The D23 Experience with life-size set recreations
  • ESPN and the Road to the Super Bowl activation
  • Experiences tied to Bluey, Camp Rock 3, and The Simpsons
  • A featured display including Mickey F1 and a Formula 1 car

These additions reflect how Disney continues to blend entertainment, sports, and experiential storytelling under one roof.

Disney Lorcana and Archives Exhibition Add Depth

Two standout additions bring a different kind of engagement:

  • The Disney Lorcana Challenge Championship Qualifier, where the winner earns a spot in the 2027 North American Championship
  • Walt Disney Archives: Uncrated, an immersive exhibit giving fans access to recreated archive spaces filled with props, costumes, and artifacts

These experiences target both competitive fans and those interested in Disney’s legacy and preservation.

Sweepstakes and Fan Rewards Return

Disney is also bringing back The Ultimate Disney Sweepstakes: Fantastic Prizes, featuring major fan incentives including:

  • A chance to sail aboard Disney Cruise Line’s new ship Disney Believe
  • A National Geographic trip to Kenya tied to an upcoming Disney+ project
  • A red-carpet premiere trip for Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday

This continues Disney’s push to make D23 feel experiential beyond just attending panels.

Citywide Anaheim Takeover Expands the Event

One of the biggest shifts for 2026 is how far D23 extends beyond the convention center.

The celebration begins August 8 with a Walt Disney Archives exhibition at Muzeo Museum, followed by:

  • D23 Night at Anaheim Packing District (August 11) with music and fan activities
  • D23 Night at Angel Stadium (August 12) featuring a themed game experience and exclusive giveaways
  • Downtown Disney activations throughout the week

This effectively turns D23 into a full-week destination event rather than a single weekend.

Ticketing Expands With New Options and Tiered Access

Disney is also broadening how fans can attend.

New and returning ticket options include:

  • D23 Fan Pass: $49 (Afternoon), $99 (1-Day), $297 (3-Day)
  • D23 Ultimate Fan Pass: Includes Honda Center access
  • D23 Ultimate Preferred Fan Pass: Premium seating and exclusive perks ($1,299–$2,599)

Ticket sales will roll out in phases starting March 31 for Gold Charter Members, followed by additional Gold Member tiers.

Each member can purchase up to six tickets, with a waitlist available after sales close.

The Bigger Strategy Behind D23 2026

What stands out most is how intentional this expansion feels.

Disney is not just adding more content. It is restructuring D23 into a layered experience:

  • Big announcements at Honda Center
  • Deep dives and fandom at the Convention Center
  • Community and culture across Anaheim
  • Entry points for casual fans and hardcore attendees alike

That combination turns D23 into something closer to a festival than a convention — and positions it as one of the most comprehensive fan events in entertainment.
