DreamWorks Animation is heading to the desert with some exciting news. Cinema United has officially announced that Universal Pictures and DreamWorks will host an exclusive first look screening of its highly-anticipated original feature, “Forgotten Island,” at CinemaCon 2026.
The presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, at 9:30 AM at the recently sponsored and iconic Dolby Colosseum inside Caesars Palace. While the general public just received the first official trailer, theater owners and industry insiders in Las Vegas will be the first to see extended footage of the film’s unique visual style on the big screen.

What We Know About “Forgotten Island”
Coming from the creative powerhouse team (Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado) behind the Oscar-nominated “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,” this film is deeply rooted in Filipino folklore and ’90s nostalgia.
Set in the 1990s, the coming-of-age story follows Jo and Raissa (H.E.R and Liza Soberano), two lifelong best friends facing the bittersweet reality of moving apart after high school graduation. Their final night together takes a supernatural turn when they stumble through a portal to the mystical island of Nakali.

Written and directed by Crawford and Mercado, the film reunites the duo that revitalized the “Shrek” universe. Producer Mark Swift and composer Nathan Matthew David are also on board.
CinemaCon, the official convention of Cinema United, is the world’s premier showcase of theatrical exhibition, taking place April 13-16 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
