If you’re heading to Las Vegas for CinemaCon this month, make sure you pack your Beskar armor. The convention just dropped some massive news: legendary filmmaker Jon Favreau is set to headline the Creative Community Luncheon on Thursday, April 16, ahead of The Walt Disney Studios’ presentation at 2:30pm PST.
Taking place in the Octavius Ballroom at Caesars Palace, the event is shaping up to be the ultimate “mic drop” for the week. Favreau will be joined in conversation by moderator Matt Belloni, editor and founding partner of Puck News and host of “The Town with Matt Belloni.” This is a wonderful opportunity for the industry to hear directly from one of the biggest filmmakers in the business. Favreau will chat about his vast experience and the highly-anticipated “The Mandalorian and Grogu.”
Star Wars Is Coming Back to CinemaCon
“Anticipation for a new ‘Star Wars’ movie on the big screen is sky high, making this an incredible way to kick off the summer movie season,” says Michael O’Leary, President and CEO of Cinema United.
It’s been a minute since Star Wars had a major theatrical presence at CinemaCon; the last time was way back in 2019 for The Rise of Skywalker. With “The Mandalorian and Grogu” hitting theaters on May 22, the hype is officially in the stratosphere (pun intended).
The film stars Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver and is produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce, with music composed by Ludwig Göransson.
CinemaCon, the official convention of Cinema United, is the world’s premier showcase of theatrical exhibition, taking place April 13-16 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
