Some collaborations make sense. Others feel like chaos waiting to happen.

This one is absolutely the latter — and that’s exactly the point.

Wizards of the Coast has officially announced a new Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair drop in collaboration with Deadpool, with the Merc with a Mouth stepping in as a self-proclaimed “creative consultant” for the latest release arriving April 1.

Yes — April 1. And yes, they’re fully leaning into that.

Deadpool Takes Over the Cards… Literally

Titled “Secret Lair x Marvel’s Deadpool: I Fixed It (You’re Welcome)”, the drop features five classic Magic: The Gathering cards that have been, in Deadpool’s words, “improved.”

Which basically means he drew all over them.

And somehow, that’s the selling point.

Deadpool even doubled down on his credentials, claiming, “I actually am a trading card, so I know what I’m talking about,” before describing the redesigns with phrases that feel very on-brand — chaotic, overly confident, and just self-aware enough to work.

What’s Included in the Drop

The base set includes five reimagined cards:

  • Deadly Dispute
  • Lightning Bolt
  • Thrill of Possibility
  • Lightning Greaves
  • Sol Ring

From there, things escalate — quickly.

Three Editions… and One Very Deadpool Bundle

The drop comes in three different versions, each leaning further into the madness.

The standard non-foil edition keeps things relatively “normal” at $29.99, while the traditional foil version adds that classic shine for $39.99.

Then there’s the wildcard: the “Pool Party Edition.”

Priced at $59.99, this version introduces a brand-new foil treatment that Deadpool describes as needing to “party harder,” which tells you everything and nothing at the same time. It’s louder, flashier, and clearly designed to stand out in the most Deadpool way possible.

And if that still isn’t enough, there’s also the bundle — officially titled:

FINAL_final_REALLYfinal_v7_USETHISONE(2)_Everything Bundle

Yes, that’s the real name.

For $124.99, it includes all three editions, packaged together in what Deadpool calls “not a bundle… a commitment.”

A Collaboration That Knows Exactly What It Is

This latest drop continues the ongoing collaboration between Magic: The Gathering and Marvel, but this time with a tone that feels intentionally unhinged in the best way.

Everything about this release — from the naming conventions to the product descriptions — leans fully into Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking humor. It’s less about subtle design and more about personality, making it one of the more unique Secret Lair drops in recent memory.

And honestly, that’s what makes it work.

When and Where to Get It
